Unboxing the AGV K6 Helmet w/ Silver Iridium Face Shield

FYI for anybody interested, these are all of the VLT tint percentages directly from AGV (not, "I saw it on a forum" somewhere). These are all the tint shades/colors they produce, but not all colors are available on all shield and/or visor models. Clear = 90% Clear + Pinlock = 80% Yellow = 90% Rainbow = 80% Blue = 50% Light Smoke = 50% Dark Smoke = 20% Iridium Blue = 10% Iridium Silver = 10% Iridium Gold = 10% Be aware that the iridium tints must just be a spray on coating, as I saw another review where the individual warned that he had used a cleaner on his face shield (not just mild soap and water) and he "cleaned" off the iridium. It appeared that the remaining tinted shield after the iridium coating was gone looked like the light smoke, but I don't know for sure. After trying on about 25 helmets over a year or so, this ended up being the one that fit my head and the most comfortable and lightest. I've had it about a year and a half. This helmet has a super plush interior. I miss having the helmet release on the left side with Shoeis, Arais, and Scorpions, but it does the job. I find all helmets are pretty loud, so I wear earplugs (as do most of my riding friends).

White looks great! I went with white too, while nardo grey looks good I prefer the contrast white creates overall

Wish you had put the camera in the helmet before and after the visor so we could see how much the tint is from the rider's POV

@@moto.obsession a GoPro definitely would. Not while riding, just while outdoors, to see the same piece of road at the same time of day, through both the clear lens and the iridium one, to understand how it impacts the riders experience

I purchased the secret with the iridium blue and also got an extra pinlock visor. I wish it wasn't so warm but hope it does well in the rain

Are you sure the dark tint is darker than your iridium silver visor?? I was going to get your exact items but may go with datk tint if it is indeed darker than mirror silver.

According to AGV, the Iridium Silver (10% VLT) is slightly darker than Dark Smoke (20% VLT) but I will say that when you look at both of them from outside of the helmet, the dark smoke looks black and the iridium silver looks reflective but not as dark. I'm really glad I went with the dark smoke for both the internal drop-down visor and the face shield. They almost NEVER get used at the same time, but the one instance when they are a life saver together is when driving directly toward the blinding bright sun when it is low in the sky late in the day. Then it's like looking at the sun through 5% limo tint instead of staring at a searing laser.

i got the same helmet in gloos black and like yours no ece or dot sticker on helmet......its an authentic helmet so i know its legit, i bought it from europe.....fits perfect and so light, quality product got MS to get smaller shell size and lighter weight.....it fits tight but still really good.....paid $320 shipped so great deal and gold visor was only $70......visors arent cheap here in US for these but with the helmet it was much cheaper.....its lighter than my HJC RHPA 11 pro

I would not recommend it at all for dark. It’s extremely hard to see at night so I just flip it up if I’m caught without my clear one.

It does not work well at sunset or after, pretty much like the smoked versions. Really wish AGV would do something like Shoei did and offer transition face shields.

The visor tint isn't that dark but it's great that it is super easy to swap visors. Only you can determine the right answer for your comfort level.

I know you left this comment a long time ago and my reply might not be relevant anymore to you but I find the iridium silver to be absolutely fine for overcast days, I feel just as safe as using a clear visor when it's overcast, although if it was starting to get darker I would change it over.

Love it! Wish it had a tad more airflow but I'm in central Texas and it's just part of riding in the heat. If I could go back I'd probably go with the Nardo Grey color.

I think it's the shell that looks large. AGV models tends to have larger shells compared to other brands like Arai, HJC or Shoie.

Shoei outer shell is the most compact thus aerodynamic, AGV outer shells bigger, like many others.. more like bubble head or potato.
