The microscope looks similar to my Ali Eakins sterescopic. Mine came with somewhat oval vertical chrome bar/pipe that did not fit into the head, but the manufacturer quickly sent another one. One upgrade that I would still like to add, is the adjustable boom arm, which would allow microscope to be tucked away when not in use.
@liquicitizendirk21472 жыл бұрын
I have a microscope from them without the stereoscopic view and I'm also very happy with it. Paid 120$ for the 37MP 1080P 60FPS version, with stand and light. In comparison to my cheapo 40$ one I had before it's night and day. Looking forward to the ones with autofocus.

those easkins ali scopes are fantastic, I use one with an articulated arm that clamps to the back of my bench, and it saves on bench space drastically. I have an extremely cramped lab so this is a necessity. all in all the whole kit was less than $700 canadian fundollars
@mariuszkalecinski71842 жыл бұрын
@@youchooby Totally agree on the advantage of articulated arm (I cannot imagine working with the microscope on the stand which Marco has - highly unergonomic). Got one of those Eakins myself and am quite happy with it. Bought a boom arm separately, which had to be modified to be usable. The rod that runs on those linear ball bearings was made out of soda cans or something. The balls actually made grooves in the metal, no smooth adjustment at all. Had to get a hardened steel rod and ask a friend with a lathe for help. Swapped the linear ball bearings for some nicer ones too. Now its pleasant to use but it seems to be a widespread problem with those Chinese boom arms. Even on the Amscope ones. Just something to keep in mind if someone plans on buying one.

I just happened to watch EEVblog video #1616 recently - Weller fume extractor review, May 2024. Part 2 is on the EEVblog2 channel. The HEPA filter goes first, charcoal second. It makes sense that way, doesn’t it? The filter takes out relatively large particles and the activated charcoal absorbs the molecule size compounds. It would probably work the ‘wrong’ way round too, but I imagine the charcoal would become clogged.

I'm guessing you disappointment is related to fact that Robot commands in JBC DMU work only in Robot mode, and if in Robot mode, handpiece stand doesn't work and you need manually start and stop. I guess what you are trying to do could be realized by connecting to peripheral port, as original JBC fume extractor, but the i guess some sniffing of protocol would be required. Also a way is to go through USB, as there (at least in DMU) is just a serial converter. So far I discovered that frames consist XOR checksum, frame sequence number and length. When I found there is Robot protocol / commands I was hoping to make external buttons as DMU is only poor working touch screen, but that failed fast cause of the reason I mentioned before. I hope you get some progress there, that I didn't find yet. Can't wait for next episode. Cheers

I have a similar oil lubricated compressor for air brushing. I use a SMC P/AMD150C-02D micro mist (oil & water) separator it filters down to 0.01um to provide clean room grade air. Make sure to get the one with a normally closed auto drain port. My filter is located between the compressor and tank, your tank and regulator are likely contaminated along with the hose with water/oil and so you should add the filter after the regulator and get a new hose/gun.

What I don't like that much about it is the structure. I find it pretty hard to clean it (even with isopropanol) because of that structure it has. Not sure if I would buy it again for a soldering workplace. For testing and assembling they're really nice, but at places that involve flux and get a bit dirty.... I'm not that happy with it.

I have a microscope that looks just like yours. I got mine from union repair a few years ago. It works well so far, but there are a few issues. There seems to be some dust inside the optics. At some zoom levels, there is a spot visible in the camera port. I tried to open it and clean it but didn't get very far, so I have to live with it. Adjusting the focus, so the camera port and the two ports for the user are in focus at the same time is very fiddly. I never got it to a point, where they focus similarly and don't get out of focus while zooming. The field of view of the camera is also an issue. I had to try several adapters until I found one that is OKish. Now I use an x0.5 magnification one. The field of view of the camera is still not what the user sees. Also, the shape of the adapter makes it impossible to mount some cameras. Currently, I run a Rasperry Pi HD cam, and that works fine.

I have been pretty disappointed with its video quality and not super happy with its still pics either, though they are better. It has more noise in the live video than I like and adding brighter lighting doesn't help enough. Also the OSD GUI firmware is buggy and they don't seem to offer any firmware updates. It wasn't a terribly expensive camera, but not cheap either. Kind of turned me off the Koppace brand.

The prices at JLCPCB are no joke. Apparently they have 6 factories and that helps with pricing. I got 15 aluminum boards manufactuered for $8 where two other factories quoted $60 and $180. I only wish they had SIGNIFICANTLY better PCBA policy and part selection. They only do PCBA for SMT parts in their parts list, and searching through it is pretty frustrating because of the poor category filtering. LEDs for example have colors and whites all under one category, there's no min CRI filter, luminous intensity is filtered in mcd with no beam angle given (lumens please) and intensity ranges are mixed alphabetically, sometimes with their own range. Efficacy and test/max current not filterable either. You have to know what you're looking for, generalize by package size, and then ask for more information in an email because the attributes are blank. I'd really like to hear who has had successful PCBA with JLCPCB because I just get boards shipped to a boardhouse that can import my parts. JLCPCB won't do that and requires you to add requests to add to their SMT library. Thanks for the video though, I always enjoy the sort of lighthearted meme style presentation mixed with thoughtful consideration for details.
@daskadse7692 жыл бұрын
For more advanced PCBs (e.g. flex, rigid-flex, etc.) and PCBA, pcbway seems to do a great job while still being relatively affordable. They can source the parts themselves, have you provide them, or have you provide some while sourcing the rest. As far as I know you can basically use anything on mouser/digikey/etc. - but obviously they also support local (i.e. chinese) equivalents. One of the big things for me personally is that pcbway offers two-sided PCBA, while JLCPCB is limited to single side. While the JLCPCB parts library indeed is terribly UX-wise, there is an open-source project called "jlcparts" on github, with the application hosted on github pages. It's an alternative frontend for the JLCPCB parts catalog, and caches all parts in your browser's memory. Also there's _way_ more filtering options. For me personally, it's not 100% stable, but certainly a huge improvement compared to JLC's own parts library.
