3-ply Duraspec sidewalls, new rubber compound, more rigid tread blocks, next gen Heat Diffuser technology, and a tweaked look. Is it enough to keep Falken as the king of all-terrain tires? We'll find out! #falken #tires #offroad

Raised white letter? Maybe on a retro build. So far I don’t see any reason to upgrade from the AT3w’s. Look forward to your review.

How does the compound compare to the at3w since the compound change? People mention around 2020 compound changed. I have 35s on my Tacoma and they leave a lot to be desired on snow covered roads. Fishtailed pretty bad in 4wd hitting a slick spot but I was going 45 mph. Good in loose snow and wet snow. They also slid a bit in Moab…more than my buddy on his same exact tire but bought 1.5 years earlier. I wonder if the compound is just the same updated one which is harder and provides less traction. Mine don’t seem to be wearing at all but the truck is really light for the ratings too off-road problems

Got a version of the AT3W's on my ram 1500. Great on Ice and snow. Got 50k miles on them. But will be ready to replace them this summer. AT4W's might be in my future. 34's and 35's are EXPENSIVE though.

How are you liking your Falken Wildpeak RT’s so far? I just purchased a set in 275/60/20 and they’re a little louder and heavier than the AT3W. But great otherwise.

I’ve noticed on this new gen that they got rid of the 3d canyon interlocking sipes on those outer blocks, now just straight sipes. This definitely makes me a little nervous that these may be not as good in the snow & ice as the excellent predecessor

I don’t know, the new open country R/T trail hold the road really good and they hold and grip the road putty good. And they don’t have have a bunch of sipping on the trade and they don’t cheap or have chunking on the trade either. And they handle really good in snow and ice too, and there not 3 peak snow rated but they still do very well in snow and ice. And you don’t need a 3 peak rated tire in though states. You just need to keep tire chains or cables in your vehicle. But I have yet to chain up my truck with the Toyo R/T Trails. And they handle pulling my 12,000 pound trailer with no issues too. And they are very quiet on the road.

Falken still not making 3 ply (sidewall) tire in my stock 265/75r16...not even RT...Toyo RT Trail is 2 ply (in my size) and new Goodyear Wrangler Duratrek RT is not even found in my size...Not sure why Im trying to find an alternative to my (now even more likely) future purchase of Mickeys Baja Bosses.

Thanks. It seems like hardly any manufacturers are making 35” tires for 18” wheels in E load rating anymore. I don’t need the 12 ply weight rating for my truck.

I hear that tire companies are now incorporating silicone into their compounds to help with the softness. It allows for them to have long lasting tires (based on tread wear) that also retain a great amount of grip. Idk if the AT4W has a new compound with silicone or not but it’s a possibility. Not to mention the full tread siping which everyone is including everywhere on the tire which definitely helps in cold and wet environments.
@gkcamden9050
@gkcamden9050 4 ай бұрын
You may be thinking of silica. Increased levels of silica help the rubber compound remain soft and rubbery and not transform the tires into rock-hard hockey pucks when temperatures drop below freezing. That and the sipes (little slits shaped like lightning bolts ⚡️) help tire companies to make tires that qualify for the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMS) rating.
@4-LOW
@4-LOW 4 ай бұрын
On the A/T3W, the standard sizes were silicon infused rubber compounds but the LT sizes weren't I don't think. At least not as much. Unsure how the A/T4W compound is created right now. Hope to find out!

@@mblake0420I’ve been searching for a new set and feel like half of what I read say they have horrible wet traction. I know these are peoples opinions and everyone drives different vehicles and have different tendencies like heavy on gas hard on breaks and so on. But to me they look like they would be everything and more for all weather conditions. I love the look. Reading a lot of them Is what worries me about pulling the trigger. I live in Buffalo, NY so we see everything sometimes in the same week lol. I don’t live in the city, outside of it and also have property to hunt/camp. I did notice though only in a couple sizes but a review of the K03? If this will be a new release wonder if they changed anything to fix the wet traction problem complaints they were receiving? Just wondering, I know shit about nothing lol, why I’m on forums and watching these videos of people with actual experience and knowledge. And asking guys like you your thoughts.
