Noise hasn’t really bothered me to be honest. However look forward to the Gen 5 and new battery tech. No mention of water ingress prevention so hope that has been factored in as uk winter will kill most motors eventually. Great video Rob

Awesome to see noise situation sorted but what about weather sealing improvements and remote and screen upgrades and also no motor upgrades to make it more efficient or more torque. Seem like just small fixes and no real innovation compared to dji. I still love bosch but look out.
@CarkeekW3 ай бұрын
yay Bosch finally semi quiet ! , now on to the controls and display. The crazy thing is if Bosch actually listened to the punters they would completely dominate the market id say up to 80% share. Its not hard to provide after market displays and controls to retro fit between motor cycles guys , its not too late....

Great review as always! It's interesting how little EMTBs have progressed over the years My 6 year old Turbo Levo has a few less Watts, about the same NMs, 720 battery and weighs 3kg less, but it is a Carbon frame. It's a 29er with 160 front and 150 rear The motor never rattled and despite all the doom merchants is still working fine. I wish a manufacturer would come up with something actually new !! Maybe a gear box motor will tempt me to change??

Rob, great vid and loved the accompanying one about the motor: beautiful setting. And you’ve had some coaching, haven’t you? You’re riding has improved several notches: best upgrade for a bike, upgrade the rider and I bet it’s improved your ability to interpret the bike. Anywsy, I have a question: ‘DoFocus say this can be ridden with the cover but without the battery on uplift days?” Brands that warranty these longer travel bikes for battery-free uplift days will grab an untapped corner of the market.

shimano makes new generator EP801 with same bolt pattern as older Ep800 but for some reason they do these systems incompatible with each other.. so you can't just buy new motor to upgrade your bike, you need everything.. Both shimano and bosch are like to fu*** bikers

👍Interesting😋 I guess it sounds of, that the over run (that made Bosch to its leading race career) and the assist, beeing linked together to maby asisst the crank arms, that make the feeling of beeing clipt on. Could this be a new way to test the limit within the Emtb sport.......or🤔. If the motor starts to assist the cranks, where is than the limit if it is a motorcycle or a Emtb🤔. This is just a guess😂

👍Nice looking bike😉. Would be nice "just to try" the new Bosch 5 gen motor, how it feels😋. I tryed the Yamaha 85Nm motor witch was to power full for me and didn't have any possible access to tune the riding modes, so I sold it after a month😊. I have tryed mullet on/off and have bikes with both rounds, I prefer 29'er (and not tubeless, because the White shit you have to clean every time you change tire), because you only need to have one spare tube with you on a ride and you have same tyre front and rear for all your bikes, that you leran how they grip. I ride with a cheap tyre Specialized Butcher grid 29x2,3, that is a amazingly easy rolling tyre with a nice grip. The fork, I have on my 3 light weight Emtb is one Lyrik Ultimate 180mm, one Fox Factory 170mm and 2 pc Öhlin RXF36 170mm. The best fork direct out of the box is the Lyrik and the Fox, the Öhlin you have to rebuilt to get them work smoother because thye where to stiff for my typ of riding, on my light Emtb's 😊. Sorry if I writes to much😉

With difficulty, I could occasionally hear the motor whining as you climbed. To me, that whine is far more bothersome than the clunking sound, especially that I could even hear it over your chit-chat. I would say the Gen5 Bosch is just marginally better noise wise.

Not to sound all negative, the jam^2 looks nice, but its 24.9kg with 600wh battery. Not exactly light? The other tech from bosch is cool. I wish they went for different length batteries instead though. The thicker makes the COG lower so thats obv good, but I suppose it will make a challenge for bike manufacturer to make frames that support both sizes, as they now need a thicker down tube or some whacky bigger cover like Jam does.

Over 24 kg...lol. Anything over 21kg makes an E-bike feel like a bus. With DJI's motor system on the market, Bosch and other manufactures need to go back to the drawing board. Love how DJI have disrupted the market. I'll be waiting for good bike brands to adopt DJI system or buy an Amflow. What was the price for this bike, 7999 EUR...to expensive for what it offers.

Why a expensive one piece handlebars in carbon on a aluminium bike, when you probably have to change it🤔. Why go back in time with 2 pc off junk, a big not integrated display and a fat remote🤔. This kind of bikes is for people hwo likes more to play with a display than riding a bike😂. I prefer a integrated display with only 10 % scaling battery level and witch mode your on, like the Specialized SL 1.1 and not like on the Specialized 1.2 where the battery text is to small for me to easily see😂
