I order mine few days ago... 2.0 TSI engine because I didn't ride more than 20'000 km/year. Bravo Skoda, It's a very good SUV. I drove the 2.0 TDI last week for testing and... very nice! I should get it next 2 month..

I share you're opinion and looking at the rear I somehow see a bit BMW X5-ish exterior. With Skoda you don't just buy quality at a reasonable price but also those little handy features wish is not just cool but thoughtful. It is actually 'Simply Clever'.

In my opinion this is the best family car in terms of money, size, interior space, comfort and a lot of other things. I drive a 2006 Skoda Octavia, I'm 20 so this is my first car. But my dad drives a 2015 Passat. I can't wait to get my hands on the Kodiaq

As always, very clever and professional of Thomas & Team to do such a good, detailed review with lots of info, in such crowded conditions - Many Thanks. There are so many SUV's now, with the Volkswagen Group introducing some of the best. We've still to see the New Q3, Q5 and Tiguan LWB. Admittedly more expensive, but still I think I would take the New Tiguan Short Wheel Base, in high spec form.

Thank you Thomas, and Autogefuhl crew. The only thing that troubles me, is that manufactures know that the 6 and 7 seats are only suitable for children, and yet most of them don't come with ISOFIX points. This being a VW group car, I would like to see all seats being made like the Touran.

I like it, but I prefer the styling of the Seat Ateca. Seat light designs are some of the best to me.

Ateca and Kodiaq are very different in size. I guess it would depend what kind of space you really need and want. Want the smallest, take Ateca. Want the biggest, take Kodiaq. If you think something between them would be the best size, go for Tiguan. Other perspective is the price, which most likely goes Ateca->Kodiaq->Tiguan. What's great, is that because of the MQB platform, the front is always small, meaning you get maximun space inside from the length of the car. Competitors offer less room from the same length

Probably the best Kodiaq Review I've seen so far!! I have had the Octavia A5 2007, Passat 2009 & Octavia A7 2014 and I was looking forward to be really impressed with this new SUV. I dont want to run into conclusions that fast but I am kind of disappointed with the quality of some of the product finishing I saw in this video on some of the cars shown. Probably the 7 seater version showed the better quality in terms of interior finishing which gets me to the question I want to ask. I'm interested in the 1.4TSI DSG/4x4 148BHP. so the engine installed it was mentioned that it is made inside Skoda plant and not in Germany? is this true? What about the MQB platform is this also made inside Skoda?

We were going to get a Passat Alltrack only because we couldn't afford a good 5 seat SUV that met our needs but this fits almost all of them.

In my country they start at $57990 but to get it specced to a Subaru Outback 3.6R Premium which we were also looking at it costs in total $71490. Way too much. I've spoken to Skoda in my country and they've indicated a price in the mid 60's for the range.

no, the passat gave huge leaps in tech and performance, its not expensive compared to what it offers. although its understandable to be divided between both, personally i like suvs a lot nowadays, but don t dismiss passat as simply expensive because it offers a lot.

Looks nice. If the sound insulation against road noise is much improved over my 2011 Octavia, which is awful, I might be interested next year. Oh and if the audio system is better than my Bolero, which is also awful and if the DSG doesn't overheat and clatter and judder, like mine. The TSI petrol engines are brilliant though, no complaints there, so would happily opt for one of those again.

I would disagree with your comment that the design of the automatic gear leaver is something new, just to remind that the very same design vw group had 5-6 years ago. Kodiaq is not that big car, so I wouldn't expect it to be perfect "full-time" 7-seater. Go for VW Sharan or similar for that. But in Kodiaq, you can adjust the middle seats 18cm, so I think it would be no problem to have two 175cm passengers in middle and rear seats if middle row is taken 10cm forward
