Romans 8:29-30: “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.” 6. 2 Corinthians 3:18: “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 7. Ephesians 4:13: “Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

IN the LDS faith this is the doctrine of exaltation. The greatest promise made to man is that he literally the offspring of God...created in the image of God and that our purpose for being here is to see if we will pursue the course that allows Him to exalt us (God will not do so against our will) The primary difference is that terms like essence, nature, created vs uncreated etc were added later to prevent this doctrine from being taken to its logical conclusion - which is that we will literally become like God - as you've demonstrated above in the scriptures. The ambiguous language came in the later centuries and the entire doctrine is essentially rejected by modern christianity.

Great video. So it sounds like to sum everything up is that Theosis is the process of godliness, where one imitates Christ, not in essence, but in will & piety, where God grants divine grace through faith (which is defined as living a faithful sacramental life, where one continually denies himself & natural desires, generally done by fasting & penance, and participants in the sacraments, generally baptism & Holy Communion).

But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you may not appear to others to be fasting, except to your Father who is hidden. In the context of Christian mysticism, absolutely theosis (or divinization in the Western churches) is of paramount importance. Many Christians definitely don't see it that way, however. Then again, mysticism has always been part of the inner dimension of Christianity (and religion in general), and that's something the vast majority of Christians frankly are ignorant of or simply don't concern themselves with. Which is fine, I feel-I see no reason to insist upon a person viewing their relationship to God in a specific way. You don't have to be a mystic to find meaning in your faith.

@allycatnaranjo8960 I don't necessarily agree with that. While the English word itself was probably originally applied to Christian practices, and perhaps Jewish and Gnostic ones, the fundamental basis of Christian mysticism in a direct experience of and spiritual transformation by the Absolute Reality is essentially something shared by a number of religious traditions in their own unique expressions of consciousness-transforming spirituality.

Christ is the truth and the way! He healed me many times and saved my grandpa! I was a big believer in the "Universe" but he showed me.. Now I know. This 'man' Jesus was an ethical genius at a time we're nobody was teaching such pure words. He became such a relevant person that even we today are speaking about him because he is in fact God in human form. No human could have done such an impact around the globe and even making the crucifixion cross from the Romans, which was a symbol of fear and death into a symbol of hope and his word. No human could have forgiven those people who killed him even though he lived a perfect life.. The feeling of anger and vengeance would overcome anybody, especially at that time. But he said: "Forgive them father" Did you know that within our DNA we have a certain structure that repeats.. That holds the DNA together.. This structure only appears after 10 nucleic acids have been laid down.. Then every 5, then every 6 and then every 5 again. So the repeating numbers are 10,5,6,5 and they never ever change in anybody. The name for God YHWH has the same numerical value. Yud - 10 Hei - 5 Vav - 6 Hei - 5 Every artist signs his creation. You take the Hebrew name of God and place it on its side you get an image of a human being. God is beyond amazing!

We won’t be God in the sense that you all think, we won’t be equal to God in power and in knowledge but I think we will be with Jesus and can pray for our brothers and sisters there. We will be “married” to God in a way. That’s why Jesus calls us His bride.
@Esch-a-ton36 ай бұрын
I totally agree with the part on being the bride of Christ! However, there a couple Scripture verses that come to mind. 1 Corinthians 13:12, where Paul writes: “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.” This seems like he's saying that we will know God completely and to know God completely is to know everything completely because God is the source of everything. And also, 1 John 3:2, which states: “Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.” But to be married to God is to be completely United to Him, and to be completely United to Him is to want exactly what he wants. That being said, if we are like him, we will have his power but with his power we will do exactly what he does because there's no separation between what He wants and what we want. So, we will have his power, not on our own but as a gift and we will do with it exactly what he does because we unified with Him.

The world is collapsing into a pre-hellish state because of man’s pursuit to become God through human fallen means, building a technological Tower of Babel that spires higher and higher into the soaring sky. The apple of God’s eye, that is us, in Christ, are able to become gods by grace. Rather than taking painkillers, God’s grace strengthens us to tolerate any pain and suffering that He sends our way, instead of creating a virtual reality through technology and screens, we grow closer and closer to reality, truth beyond the 2/3/ or 4D. We try to become gods with a small g through limited concepts that we perceive to be supreme, but in actuality these things are lacking what we truly need, that’s Christ, through the sacraments, through the One, Holy, Apostolic Church of Eastern Orthodoxy. Deification is truly the main topic teached by the mystics since Saint Paul the Apostle. I recommend reading the works of Dionysius (or Pseudo-Dionysius), Meister Eckhart and Saint John of the Cross. The sentence "God became man so man can become God" is real and really, really important. It must not be miscomprehended in a way that God (The One absolute principle of all things) is put in second term, rather that man truly, with all his soul and heart, recognises this One Absolute Principle above all things and let himself be "oblitereted" by the love of God. The original sin (both of Lucifer and the First Man) was trying to reach Life and Truth by the knowledge of the things of the world. The Redemption that Christ, truly God, gave us, was the possibility of perfect knowledge and love throught the Word to the Father.
