he was not kidding about that "marill grows a dick" thing. In my white 2 playthrough, I decided to use a female azurill, which I named Marina, and when it evolved It turned male. It tripped me out. I didn't think that would be an in-game mechanic when it evolves, I thoght it was a thing like when it was found in the wild, but no. I had a trans Azumarill.

After reading some comments, it seems a lot of people forget he only talks about the viability of Pokémon in the generation he is playing currently. Although he got better at explaining the viability of other Pokémon in later generations, he is right about certain Pokémon just getting outclassed in THIS generation, like Clefable and Sableye, that would get better later.

NewController01 true, in both games they learn the exact same moves in hordes, so their levelup moves are shuffled in ORAS for that purpose. As unnecessary as they were for Kalos, at least one can EV train a Noctowl using Synchronoise on those Spinda hordes.

rewatching this I think something not talked about much is how FUN swalot is: amnesia, body slam, yawn with toxic or sludge bomb means swalot can actually be useful in loads of situations with 3 status ailment moves all accurate and all equally useful for it, plus it gets things like giga drain shock wave and eathquake for attacking coverage. Not a monster wall but a very fun one :)

Aggron actually has an amazing movepool it can learn so many tms and hms. The main reason people don't always use it is how it has a ton of crippling weaknesses (4x to fighting and ground, 2x to water), it's slow as hell, its sp. atk and sp. def are lacking, and it doesn't evolve until very high levels (its still an aron until lvl 32). As for why he didn't mention it, it was bio'd when he only had 1 badge and surf isn't available until you have 5 badges, much later in the game.

Gyarados was going to be a water dragon type but was changed due to dragon moves being its only weakness and the only dragon type move in Red and Blue being Dragon Rage, which does only a fixed 40 HP of damage, so they changed it from being OP so yeah I forgot why it became a flying type and not something else, it was in one of Chugga's videos so check there

I feel like Chugga's rule for Pokemon is "If I never used it, it's terrible or decent." Seriously, Walrein is an incredible pokemon, easily the best Ice type in gen 3, but he still says it's "Supposedly decent at best." In Gen 4, he praises Cleffable, when it is practically Exploud, but with slightly lower stats and a slightly better move-pool. Then, he makes fun of pokemon like Grumpig for evolving "late" when level 32 is right around the 6th gym. But, despite Koffin evovling even later than Spoink, he still never mentions it. I could just be playing favorites, since I did use a Grumpig and an Exploud during my play-through of this game, but it is especially heart-breaking when he says "I would never recommend Whismur," and then later recommend Kecleon. (Im not saying any of his opinions are wrong, it's just the way I feel.)
