The funny thing is I wasn't even euphoric with the 35th win today. Unlike last year where he almost won but dropped his chain this felt almost...easy? He seemed dominant as soon as he hit the front. What a career.

i was driving along in the northern area of the IOM and going down a very narrow country lane when I met a group of cyclists coming the other way. Going round a left hander, I almost collided with a group of cyclists coming up the hill. I braked hard and looked directly into the face of Mark Cavendish. He looked a bit miffed but I was so pleased that I hadn't wiped out Britain's great hero.

3.11 Thor Hushovd has the unfortunate part of second place however that victory by Mark Cavendish on the Champs Elyse's that day was pure sport. Mark Cave won by more than a bit; more than a glimpse; he went past his challenger in a way that's hard to explain. Mohammad Ali won often by simple defeat of his opponent. he knew before. Cavendish from my perspective was the finest tour sprinter ever and nobody ever will match his victories. Ever. Ever. Ever.

His position on the bike is just far more aerodynamic. My fav will always be Robbie McEwan since he a did a ton of winning pretty much solo. No big lead outs. Just creativity.

I had this thought the other day: Cav won the sprint against other riders who were also quite capable of explosive speed in the sprints. Riders who were quite capable of riding with extreme high speeds. And yet, the “Manx Missile” outsprinted them on numerous occasions. The Manx Missile. 😂😆
