I never thought of using this cool minor 7 flat five chord so extensively. I use it a lot in 145. I was just lying in my exhausted for using a snow thrower after a snow storm in Finland and wanted to learn this sheik of araby tune in sort of swing style and was lucky to to find this approach. Thank you.

could you explain more about substitution chords , it's confusing , you give a half diminished E for a C, Or a half dim C# for a A . Reverse chords or substitutions without explanation .i came up with the idea that in gypsie music you never built a chord over the root note cause it remains for the bass player , so instead we build chords over the 3th
@GypsyJazzSecrets

E half dim with root E on 7th fret acts as the 2 chord on a minor 2-5-1 into Dm. The same shape on the 4th fret with C# in root acts as an A9 chord.
