Lol I play the guitar in a jazz ensemble, and we’re playing this for a concert soon. There are a lot of fancy extensions and altered chords throughout the whole song. The easiest way to navigate chord to chord is using solid voice leading and knowing multiple inversions of each chord to help you get to the next one easier.

Trumpets ca play out of their stands to project sound, but when asked to be in stands, it means to basically hide behind the stand so it won't project.

It kind of means like you use the stand as a mute but don’t put your trumpet on the stand or put it up and touching the stand just slightly muffle your sound by putting your bell into the stand. “In stand”. “Played into stand”. Tomato tomato 🍅
