amazing. you are the only guy who actually makes the videos informative rather than "look at me showboating to you noobs over the internet" or "I'm just gonna talk and not actually play anything" or "I suck at video editing and my information is not in a coherent linear fashion..." A BIG thank you for putting up the chord charts. Thank you so much!

Long ago I saw an episode of Sanford & Son and it guest starred Scatman Crothers. They did an amazing version of this with Red Foxx singing. Your version is exactly what they played (in style) and I thank you for putting this lesson out. My wife and I will be adding this version to our acoustic duo set list. Cheers!

I got the chords pretty easy. I had a lot of trouble strumming the rhythm. Watched this vid slow and fast. Finally I just dropped my pick and practiced thumb picking it until my i could naturally kind of flick my thumb just right. That little kick of down up down up just before chord change makes this sound so unique. Still working on my speed, but thank you Damian!

This is a really interesting approach to the "La Pompe technique." In your case you are flying against all the wisdom of the gypsy players I have been listening to who use full chords (all 6 strings in the voicings). You use only 4 strings, leaving the b and high e out of it all together. And yet, it sounds really, really fine this way. I worked on your version for an hour yesterday and will work on it again today till I get your sound. I am trying to finally really get my teeth into that chunk, chunk, chunk style of rhythm playing and its deceptively difficult to sell the rhythm. It has to be very, very consistent and there is a lot more in accents and emphasis and left hand pumping motion than meets the eye. This looks easy, you make it look easy, but its not at all easy for me to replicate your sound. I love your guitar by the way its the perfect chunk chunk chunk guitar.
