If the leopard demands you open the bird cage you can't really tell it no. You can tell it no once or twice but if it keeps asking your gonna get hurt badly. 🐈

That would be a great video! In my family since I was 6, whenever we got a dog or 2 or 3, a cat, horses or fish (55 gallon aquarium), I was the one who took care of all of them. We never had birds, but I've always wanted one.. My older brother and his wife had an African grey, but when he divorced, the ex got the parrot. Now I live in a studio apartment in Manhattan.I have 6 aquariums (2x30 gallon community tanks with tropical fish, 1x10 gallon with the baby fish, 2x 20 gallon long divided into 4x 5 gallon betta bachelor pads with male bettas and a hospital tank) and 2 cats. So no birds. But back at my family home in Florida (4 bedrooms, a studio apartment added, 2 acres with a creek and lots of trees), my mom is being placed in a nursing home for dementia. I want to convert the home and land into a parrot rescue/rehabilitation/sanctuary with other rescued birds and animals like alpacas llamas, alligators, tortoises, iguanas, and raise/breed betta splendens (Siamese fighting fish) and other exotic tropical fish.

It’s so emotional watching bandit flying around and living his best life before he passed. Bandit was one of my favorites and made me look into getting a galah in the future. How blessed you guys are to have such beautiful memories of an amazing bird that only you have to yourself and that’s a true gift and joy. I couldn’t imagine loosing any of my animals. I would like to see the other drivers reaction when you stop at a red light..ha. We use to have chickens..in a suburban neighbor where chickens were not common. There was a bar about a block away with poor parking, so people parked on our street. At night our rooster use to, for whatever reason, would chase people to their car...hahaha (I know its nit funny to laugh). Imagine going home saying "honey, you will never believe what happened to me tonight!" 😊

Agreed. I've let go of that thought for now... my mom has convinced me I can build an amazing facility here that would be ideal year-round so I am hopeful that works out. I live in NC, and raise bantam chickens. Possums and raccoons are able to reach their little paws through those bars, grab onto a bird, and kill it. Snakes can slither into openings about 1" in diameter, and can kill birds. This has happened over the years to me, and I've learned through sad experience. I've found that 1/2" hardware cloth is the only thing that prevents the predators from doing this. You can wrap the cages with hardware cloth on the outside, to prevent snakes, raccoon/possum hands, and weasels from hurting your birds.
