"If I could do trucking over, I would make not one friend, not one". One of the saddest things I have heard you say over the years TB. I can relate though. Not having to worry or care about others, being the "lone wolf", is always the easiest road to travel. True, LOYAL friends, are extremely hard to come by nowadays. To Quote Randy Newman - "You've Got a Friend in Me"...lmao Stay True TB!

I don’t know if you would still see this or not but I just wanna say thank you for all the info you put out there. I’m currently at college goin into criminal justice. I’m 20 years old, got myself all set up, already working at a department, and now I’m getting the experience, and I’ve been losing interest. I’m possibly looking into trucking as a career. It would be a MAJOR life changing decision that I know could make or break me so I’ve been pullin out all the info I can get so you best believe I’ve been watching your vids and doing research religiously so I can have a piece of mind to make the right informed decision in the next year when I turn 21. I appreciate you and hope you stay safe on the road!

Over the long haul, your second biggest expense in trucking is going to be maintenance and repairs. If you don't know how or refuse to turn a wrench, you are going to have a hard road ahead of you. In my personal opinion, a steering wheel holder is a driver who can't or won't turn a wrench.

Great transparency! I'm a firm believer that knowledge without application is simply a forecast. However, knowledge coupled with experience is unmeasurable. Keep your head up man, because from what I'm hearing is that you've seen the high and lows of both sides so now it's simply a matter of making some minor adjustments and move forward. Wish you the best bro!

I am still going to go for it, and I WLL be successful in reaching my Goals that I have set forth for my transformation into becoming an OTR Professional Trucker. I WILL Succeed, and I WILL retire with my head held high. I have spent 5 years researching every single aspect of this "lifestyle", this occupation, and I have learned a lot. I have watched, learned, listened, studied, and as of the last 2 years I have been living a very Recluse life by choice to already have my mind in the right place for when I'm out there living in that "Box". ---- Avoiding people out in "Society" by choice in this evil place that we are now living in, has made me stronger, and has actually made me much more healthy. Mentally, Physically, and Emotionally. That open highway, and the beauty that awaits across this land to see day in and day out.... to me personally.... THAT will be a True Blessing, and I believe is my True Calling. If I do fail for some reason, and it doesn't go as I have planned out.... At least I went with my gut, my heart, and I gave it my best shot. ----- I am ok with that. Trucker Brown bro, YOU are just one of many who helped me along in my decision and planning. Sorry to see you are not feelin' it no more. BUT.... Thank you always for being straight up 100 on so many issues. AND.... Thank you for doing your part in keeping this country moving. Peace

I agree with your points but... we still need truckers to move freight. I have done the corporate world and I will be 50 this year. I am old by age and but still get carded but I also agree with you. Truckers get the health issues. Diabetes type 2, heart attacks etc. If anyone reads this, take the sense of what he is saying. Do it for a short time like I will be doing but don’t make it a life long career unless you want to retire in a pine box down the Mississippi River. Enough said... Deuces... ✌️✌️✌️

To many drivers want to get in trucking and look at it as a quick check. Career truckers ain't bad if you do it right. I was with a guy at my factory and he drove from for like 30yrs and all he knows is trucking but he OWNED trucks for bout 15yrs. Health wasn't bad but he loves cocaine and that's why he never keeps a normal job. 15yrs of over 150 bands a yr. He could of got his own authority but he said he was at the company so long and got the best loads why change. When you learn the system and save you'll make it farther. I didn't make it cuz I didn't have my personal life together. Worked to hard for companies and messed up and it's all your fault. Set yourself up before you get in so you want have to depend on it and you want make bad decisions.

Quick question, anyone can answer- I’m split between going to Werners school that I won’t have to pay for and they said I can do regional for them. Or there’s a private school that I’ll need to save up 2500 to pay the down payment on but they say I can get a job to whoever I want local regional etc. Any thoughts?
@yomamascupoftea94594 жыл бұрын
I started with Werner before doing my own thing and I won't tell u what u should do but here are a few things to think about before u decide.. 1) the least amount of debt you have the better off you'll be.. 2) that regional position might not be available by the time you graduate.. 3) avoid any accounts with the word "dollar" in it (also called regional) as a new driver.. 4) all starter mega and mid major companies are the same so it won't matter where you start. The only thing you should focus on in your 1st to 2 years is protecting your cdl and stacking your money. Good luck
@jalenjones37434 жыл бұрын
Yo Mama's Cup of Tea thanks for the advice. I did some more study and apparently it’s best to have a high pay per mile like around .45-.50 cents? And when you say accounts what do you mean/suggest, I’ve seen a little bit about the “Dollar” ones being crappy
@yomamascupoftea94594 жыл бұрын
@@jalenjones3743 Yea stay away from dollar accounts until you master backing up. Werner might try to talk u into it tho. I don't know about any companies paying that high cpm out the gate but even if they did the miles they give u would be low so it all evens out. Plan on making anywhere between $35k-$55k ur first 2 years. After that sky's the limit.

I wouldn't be too concerned with the price of schooling I did mine at a college it was either 5,500 or 6,000 I can't remember but I got a student loan and it's only 55.99 a month. I can literally pay it off with one paycheck at this point but why its hardly costing me anything that's about 14 a week and its good for building credit history. You will be screwed at Werner because you will have to stay there for a year or possibly more for them to pay for your schooling and probably just make factory money while being gone from home which isn't worth it to be gone all week and not make a grand
