Thanks!and to clarify my comment, this was done not with trucking but before before I start. So the only note I have are electricity and cell phone and I live in the South so things are relatively cheaper. Keep my bills at $600 month and the rental property pays that with money left over still so the $$ from trucking will all be for investments in another business. Good to hear of your goals,you will definitely meet all of them :) Many Blessings to you.

SAVINGS is key, we are a couple and at the beginning we hit OTR hard, hard, 6 months with no cars, no mortgage and then bought a truck CASH, 3 years later we did the same again to put $25k on a house! Priorities!!! We cook in the truck at least 5 days a week, snacks in the truck, AUDIT your whole life, basics.

@chilledcoughe right, i'm going to ge my cdl next month,been talking about it for a while,I had fell into the trap he talks about and i'm tired so when am paying my rent and car up for 2 months then once i get my own truck with what ever company i'm with, i'm putting everything in storage and living out my truck,I want to own properties,rentals,business and a fleet of trucks and that is the only way i see it and i plan to accomplish 80 percent of it within 3 to 5 years
@1jimmarch
@1jimmarch 5 жыл бұрын
If you save up three hundred bucks a week in your first two years OTR, you will have 30000 big ones. There are still lots of good used $20,000 trucks the date from just before DPF filters it like the one that killed big red, trucker Brown's old truck. You didn't sign off on a company that gives you at least 80% of the load and you put 10 grand aside as your emergency reserve, and and you go make some big damn money. put aside at least $500 a week until you've built yourself up to the 30 Grand reserve level which is enough money to fix anything that can possibly go wrong.

@Young Black Conservative .. My comment was simple and straight forward.I personally found the information shared in this video very useful especially for the younger / newbies stepping off the porch.. Basically if you run the truck and save the $ you can set yourself up for success in a decade. What's hard to understand about that? Where did I say " rich " ? 150 k move differently all over the country. It's not the same $ in San Diego and in Mississippi... Or Maine to Alabama. I'm sure that you know that so if its something else you're wanting to express or share your opinion about by all means do that??

You are right about a lot of things. I have a friend who makes 90K a year, but he got a 700K house and a 50K SUV. He is not saving anything towards the future and his House, car and credit card bills are so high he is living check to check. If he was smart, he would have gotten a 200K house and saved to buy a 20K car outright if he wanted a new car, but he has to have the best of everything. Hea, 38yrs old and I kinda miss the road, if you want to make the most of being a single driver, carry a bicycle on the truck. Learn to strap it to the back correctly or take the tires off and keep it on the passenger side. Then request home time in the areas that look fun. Take an uber to where you want to ride and have fun. Good hiking boots too, take advantage of your mobility, don't just rot inside the truck. I saw northern cali alot for this reason. But I was flatbed, which is the better. Oh side show attractions, read or watch American gods and go to the house on the rock
@kalillloyd1591
@kalillloyd1591 4 жыл бұрын
why do you say flatbed s better
@silinusvers
@silinusvers 4 жыл бұрын
@@kalillloyd1591 there's more physical labor but less bullshit, you rarely wait in line compared to van drivers, i always thought the physical labor of securing the load was nice to get blood pumping before the drive. Flatbed handles better in high winds, and if you get a little camping stove a pan, a chair and good headphones, your trailer becomes a great place chill

Nope" nothing's wrong with you. You've just let life play you before you figured it out. I'm a mother and have dealt with some shit. But I'm at the point were I'm wanting to do trucking instead let him play house since he ask for it. I'm not happy. This man is stating truths. But this also happens to women that aren't ready or sure of what they want. Men can hold back women just as a women could a man. As far as a man handing his paycheck to me not never! In life there are always sucky parts but once you get the bullshit out of the way and realize you never had anything so why keep thinking as though one day you will. Nope you won't why because someone manipulated you. Then when you say enough is enough and you see that cat for what it is...theres no turning back. Stay woke don't buy into everyday mundane shit that everyone's told from the get to perceive what is life supposed to be instead let be! Free.. free... free!!!!! Oh how I wish I could be!! Fortunately I’ve corrected my life choices and learned about exactly what you are talking about here... House is paid... I have money in the bank... I have strategically planed my career change setting aside money so I can have a reserve while my first year learning(I had dumps and backhoe trailers in the past so there’s a good amount of flatbed knowledge) I have money set aside for a very nice low mileage truck when the time comes... But you are correct with this... single? Single guys should simplify their lives... PERIOD I was in my early 20’s and a old man told me: A YOUNG SINGLE GUY SHOULD NEVER OWN ANYTHING MORE THAN WHAT CAN GO INTO A DUFFELBAG... Hey great advice man. I’m single and my kids are grown and out. About to get a nice retirement from my previous profession. I got nothing holding me back thinking about OTR. I like your videos learning a lot.

the knowledge, insight, and truths you have shared here.... just WOW! i wish i knew you or had someone who thinks and observes/ knows what you do back in the day, to break it all down and teach us in high school about these facts of the world! if i was a teaching a class of high schoolers about how to make it, succeed, and about which priorities should come first in order to succeed as an adult, regardless if they want to be a driver or whatever their goals and career dreams-- you, Sir, would be the one equipped and able to reach and to prepare teens for what the real world is really about and like, better than almost any school curriculum being taught in schools, as well as moreso than these high dollar paid speakers that only tell half the truths you shared here.. i am absolutely sharing this with friends and family in every way i am able to. Thank you for taking the time to make a video that is worth so much more than entertainment.

I would look into actually getting on child support if I was you. It's risky just trying to work it out between you and baby mom's. The courts could consider any money paid outside of legal obligation will be deemed a "gift." Do some research js

I agree with you bro...paid for my cars outright, my truck outright, and soon a house outright. I'm married, but the woman I married isn't materialistic...she understands the difference between wants and needs, and that we can't splurge until ALL out ducks are in line.

13:00 not just the limited parts, if they did have the part it'll be more expensive to fix it! When i first got my car it was a broken down jeep wrangler, broken transmission only gear that was alive was 1st and 3rd, and bad rear diff along with the transfer case. so in my mind i was like well, i got this "free" jeep wrangler now i just gotta fix it up so i walk into this transmission repair shop explained my situation and what i needed got a quote for $649 for the transmission and 300 for the transfer case (after shipping expecting to only pay around 1k in labor costs). 3 months down the line i got an invoice for 6,000! all i can say is that they don't want you to save money, they want you to be in the hole! so yeah, it would have been cheaper to just go with a used vehicle and replace the jeep than to fix it too sad really.
