Hi! This doesn't really relate to the video much! But I have a young almost 2 year old Chinchilla, and I have been looking to find her a companion. I would rather rescue one, than shop. I have come across this 13 year old girl and I have no idea if putting them in the same cage would go well for them. What do you all think? I don't have the funds for a new cage set up, but the one I have is big enough for two. Do you think it's safe enough to put an old Chilla, with a younger one? Should I adopt her? I have looked around, but I can't find any answers.

You will need a separate cage setup as there is no guarantee that they will bond up. On top of that, if you do decide to adopt her, they need to be separated for at least 30 days before you start bonding them. This will make sure that the new chinchilla does not have any diseases that will pass on to you resident chinchilla and vice versa. This will also allow for your new chinchilla to settle in making the bonding process less stressful after a big move. Also the large age gap may make it difficult to bond the chinchillas; however it does not make it impossible. Hope this helps!

@@ChinVillain yes! I ended up adopting a younger girl, as the older one luckily found a home! The bonding process is a long one, but it will be worth it!

@@ChinVillain the new one, has also been checked by a vet 👍 as I wanted to make sure that she was fully healthy and wouldn't harm my other Chilla

@@ChinVillain also! My cage is many many layers, so for the moment I have it split in half. Plenty of space and ledges for each of them! If they don't end up bonding I'ma have to buy a new damn cage- and that's just a whole lot of money 😅

Very interesting! I've never had a Chin but they're precious. I've had a lot of different critters over the years. I'm still mourning the loss of two dogs last year (only 2 months apart, and one was young.) It was very traumatic and I'm just now beginning to feel ready for another. Anyway, at this moment I only have 3 ratties in a double critter nation. Will be adding a pair this fall. I aim to keep 4 or 5. Enjoyed meeting your menagerie! ☮️❤️

I want a chinchilla so bad!!! i have a question, do you need the ferret nation double story for 1 chinchilla? or could i just get 1 story if i was going to get a chinchilla!?
@ChinVillain4 жыл бұрын
A single story ferret nation cage is perfect for a single chinchilla! And what is great about the nation cages is that you can upgrade at any time!

I have 2 parakeets that are almost 4, their names are Quinn and Milkshake and they are so beautiful and quite loud😅 my family and I have a standard poodle that is pretty big but he's scared of the smallest things!! Sometimes he goes to my mom and just forces her to pet him🤣 I also have some aqua dragons (brine shrimp) I use to have a gerbil named Buddy but he passed at 4 years on feb 2 2021. I absolutely loved your video!!

Since you own all three species I would love to know your opinion about this: I'm thinking of getting a (male) chinchilla. Do you think it can be socialized with a cat and a dog who are very chill and neutered? I would eventually neuter the chinchilla when it's time as well. I know there can be risks but it is actually the chinchilla that worries me since the cat and the dog are very socialized to other animals. Would love to know what you think. Great videos btw! Keep them coming.

So I actually get this question a lot and was something I was concerned about when getting my cats and dog. For my situation, I have placed my chinchillas into their own room away from the other animals. The reason for that is because cats are very dangerous to keep around chinchillas. They not only are a predator that can potentially injure your chinchilla but cats carry a lot bacteria that is found in their litterbox that is deadly to a chinchilla. Dogs are a little bit easier because you can make a barrier around your cage with a playpen and train them to leave the chinchillas alone; however, dogs have the potential to harm a chinchilla as well. Also, I personally would avoid neutering the chinchilla. Surgery is very difficult on chinchillas because they are so sensitive. Also, Thank you so much for the support! I hope this helps!

There gave treats are Cheerios given 1 time a weeek strawberry’s and herbs😍♥️💕!! Thanks!!!! That's so adorable! My chinchillas like cheerios and rosehips. However, I would avoid the strawberries. Chinchillas cant have fresh fruits or veggies. Also, I do have a tiktok! Its listed in the description of the video. I made a video all about it! kzbin.info/www/bejne/iH6whad7j9WDj5I

why are you putting piercings' on your chinchilla that is a bad owner
@ChinVillain3 жыл бұрын
I didn't pierce my chinchilla's ear. It is an ear tag that the breeder put in. It does not bother her. I talk about it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXKWhmZ4orVgrbM
