This is a fantastic summary of ratios, which are proving to be the absolute bane of my life. I would improve it by mentioning hints about having to learn other things for the additional steps in the higher questions. For example in the question where you have to work out density = mass/volume, I didn't know that formula off-hand and so I had no idea how to work it out until you stated it in the answer. On the plus side, I'm studying iGCSE physics as well as maths and will no doubt come across that one again, so it is good to get a head start. I really appreciate the help.

I’m confused with the question at 16:08 it asks will the car have to travel faster than 70mph to get there in 24 minutes? Isn’t the answer yes? Because the car isn’t able to travel at the speed of 70mph in 24 so it will have to travel faster than 70mph.

@pleasedontlookforme80363 жыл бұрын
No because X represents all of the counters in total and 20 represents the counters marked so the value of X already includes the 20 on top.

20:21 My answer is 45. Why do we have to assume that the values are proportional to each other? Out of 30, 5 are marked. So the 15 marked counters are still in the bag. So in total, 30 + 15 is 45 counters. So would you be so kind to explain if I went wrong somewhere
@pleasedontlookforme80363 жыл бұрын
Because there are more counters then just the sample total and the marked counters. Remember 30 is just a random sample, NOT all the other counters that aren't marked plus five marked ones.
