I love how you have called this things you regret buying and not the worst products ever because your reasoning is so very thoughtful. You don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade that might like them. It’s just such a kind way to approach things. ❤ Ps. I got that Rose Inc concealer for the same reason and I disliked it too! Gah!

I love your reference to Sephora as “ The Willie Wonka Chocolate Factory” I live in Oz and have never been inside a Sephora store for many reasons . • I live rural Queensland • I am on a disability pension so funds are limited . • I have a chronic illness that consumes my most of my days , so I would need to really plan ahead . I’m 50 years old and have just started really truly loving makeup and cannot wait for the day I can put some luxury makeup all over my face . Makeup makes me happy and makes me feel better about myself. I think I also try to use it as a distraction to the eye so people don’t notice my leg brace , my walker , my wheel chair , my weight gain or the other physical bloopers that happen to my body .

The foundation experience is so personal. What you described for Lys was my experience with haus lab foundation, it breaks down, looks terrible in a few hours and fades away. I’m still trying on different colors for the lys foundation which works a lot better for my skin type.

Agree on the CT cream eyeshadows. They really do crease terribly but when I really work them into the skin with a brush (for a while 😄) they don’t and last long on me. So they’re not a fast option in the morning but at least I can actually use them 😅

Rose inc in 010 is amazing match for true neutral/pale olive undertone. It wears very well, but it is definitely not the full coverage, more like mid coverage, which I am fine with. Absolutely understood the rave Hannah had, since I have the same problem as her and finding good grey-ish shade is insanely hard.

I like the fact that you are styling these as regrets. I love the NARS radiant concealer. I love the minis and I use them as a colour corrector as well. I don’t go heavy and I don’t want to achieve a flawless finish. I am too old to try for a smooth flawless finish. I have an aversion to full coverage foundation. I dilute them all these days. I might add a bit of full coverage to a tinted moisturizer to increase the blur or a bit of full coverage to an area of discolouration. I’ll even use it as colour correction or concealer under my eyes. I have to manage texture.

The one size bronzer has three different shades. Top one is neutral toned for shading middle is warm toned for bronzing and the bottom one at the opening is cool toned for contouring. It contains all three in one. It is very useful and helpful. All three aren’t bronzers. I personally didn’t find the product patchy at all.

Worst powder I tried this year was the Rare Beauty loose powder. I thought it worked OK in Winter but the minute the weather warmed up it disappeared on my face. There are far better powders out there more suitable for combo/oily skin. Worst foundation I tried for me was the Clinique Even Better foundation. Very texturising and no amount of powder seemed to blur it. Those CT cream eyeshadows crease on me too.
@lavayuki2 жыл бұрын
I agree with a lot of yours, especially LYS which I personally don't like for any of their products. I don't like the formula. My worst purchase was the Givenchy prisme libre pressed powder, it hard pans after every use and I had to constantly use tape to fix this. I do notice that a lot of high end luxury powders hard pan with all oils and skincare stuff they have in them, compared to simple drugstore powders that don't have all these hydrating things that cause pressed powders to hard pan
@melina_m_makeup2 жыл бұрын
Great video! LYS is also a brand for me that's hit or miss. I didn't like the foundation and returned it and the concealer is ok. I have the bronzer but don't tend to reach for it much. I'm not gna declutter it and will try and use it but it's not my favorite. Now the Hourglass foundation and primer is soooooo good ! I guess cuz I have oily skin it gives such a beautiful natural finish and the primer is so blurring and smoothing for me! Also I love the Givenchy prisme Libre powder is really nice! But if it's drying then that's prob why it works for me haha! It helps keep my oily tzone nice and matte or satin finish. Haven't tried the new CT Airbrush powder ( white one) . I think I'll hold off purchasing then since we do both have dry undereyes.

I regret the hourglass elephant palette too. I thought it was going to be a bit dark for me but I didn't like the lightest palette layout. And a lot of youtubers said that the elephant palette worked for their fair skin. Urgh. I agree with everything you said. The pans are way too small. The blushes are good but the powders are too dark. The highlighter is too dark. The bronzer is too yellow imo. I'll only use the blushes 😭 So sad because this was my first hourglass palette. You live and you learn I guess haha

The Patrick star palette is shading bronzing and contouring all in one. They have different undertones and palette is useful as all three are in one. I think she doesn’t even know that all three colours serve different purpose. Seems to have not checked anything about the product

@violetviolet888 Жыл бұрын
Tyra Hudson: No. Humans are too different, there are too many variables. Consumers should be educated about how to tweak products to their needs instead of spending time and money for something that is almost perfect. A drop of oil here, a color drop there, mixing a hydrating darker shade with a lighter dryer shade, etc. Totally fun, totally do-able.

Uhh I bought 3 of the CT eye's to memorize cream shadows this week chocolate bronze champagne and oyster pearl I thought for sure I was gonna love them and all the hype around them well I bought oyster pearl the other day thought I loved it but then bought 2 more yesterday and I used them today and was like ahh nothing amazing and regret spending like 110$ of 3 cream shadows I could have bought the new YSL quads or the CDP quads and I'm like bring them back but idk if i still have the receipt for the first one the women at Sephora kept it because I bought the Tatcha cleansing balm and hated it and wasn't keeping something that burned my skin and sucked every bit of moisture off it while not getting rid of light eye make.. na I wanted my 40$ back . Idk if they can looks up my purchase on the app like Ulta so I can bring that back or not but I have total regrets buying that along with the laniege cream skin milk cleanser so I spent 140$ on crap just yesterday not counting my purchase 3 days ago of the Tatcha cleansing balm and the CT OP shade. 😭

I know you just want to describe to us, but it pains me a bit every time you call your undereyes difficult. Please. It's skin. Skin does wrinkle. It has discoloration. It can be too dry, or too oily. It is all normal. Most people have those things, a few of them or all of them or even more. All normal. It's skin.
@justynawisniewska12132 жыл бұрын
I mean it is normal for people's skin to have discolouration or wrinkles. However it does make it more difficult to do makeup on skin with more texture, does not mean it's bad or abnormal. It's ok to disclose it in this way, pretty neutral in my opinion.
