Warren had an incredible stable of artists that were unbound by any comics code authority adherence. I also prefer the early work of Warren publishing over the big 2 comic publishers

I think that, apart from having some amazing artwork, the Warren line had a sense of identity missing from the cut and paste format of the big 2 at least.
