Len was a brother/sister duo from Toronto. When they got the budget to make this video, they used it all to fly their friends down to Daytona Beach and film over a wild weekend.

You are exactly right, and it was during Spring Break in March of 1999...about 3 months before Hurricane Floyd passed by and took out 1/3 of the end of the Daytona Beach pier shown in the video.

I think it's just a fun, upbeat song with a catchy tune and nice harmonies. Brings me back to the late 90s, pre 9/11 and all of the subsequent insanity that followed.

Nah, its not that it was a one hit wonder that whole album was pretty good! The just broke up after the first album as the frontman decided he didn't want to be a "famous pop star" so he decided to go into production instead

When I watch one of your reaction videos the first thing I do is give it a Thumbs Up, b/c I know I'll enjoy it and most times I've already seen the reaction on the Live Stream. This CD was one of the first 2 CDs I ever bought (cassettes before that, of course). It's weird not hearing the whole "To the beat y'all, rock rock" part at the end that leads into the 2nd song. One of the best songs on that album that is worth listening to is Junebug.

Omg! I love this song! One of my all time favorites. I read that the two singers are brother and sister. It's supposed to be about the day after a rave. From what I understand. Glad someone finally pointed this out. The really interesting thing about Andrea True: she was a porn actress at the time (which was WAY less common or accepted back then). It attached some controversy to the song (which makes it pretty funny that the “wholesome” nature of “Steal My Sunshine” was mentioned 😏).

One of my favorite videos. Helps make the song. You're right it does sound like they have been partying all night. Because they did. They spend $100,000 on the video and most of it on alcohol. They took a bunch of friends down to FL and would film in the afternoon, because they were mostly hung over from drinking the night before.

i think this may be classified in the "Shoe Gazing" genre within Alt-Rock, very popular in the mid-to-late 90s.

No, this is not shoe gazing at all. Shoe Gazing is My Bloody Valentine, Curve, Lush, etc. Definitely not Len!

Always liked this one. It's funny cause they sampled a small part of music for this from a disco song called more more more by Andrea true and used it throughout the song

That said, it also echos a quote by classical Greek philosopher, Diogenes of Sinope, who said "Yes, stand a little out of my sunshine." To Alexander the Great (!!!) after Alexander asked him what he could do for Diogenes.

The song is about when the singer Marc Costanzo went to a party and partied too hard, which caused him to miss out of some fun later. Steal my Sunshine was it was stolen from him due to the party the night before.
