So Mi is deeeefinitely better off not living than the horrors that await her returning to the FIA. It's established that her mind is fragmenting more each time, and after her escape attempt they'll be using her like a slave. She says over time the remnants of her shredded psyche will get stuck behind the blackwall, where they'll be tortured for all eternity. Pretty bleak... Not to mention, Reed is better off at the spaceport taking the hit for his ideals... than "living" as a desk jockey alcoholic agonizing for the rest of his life.

So facts. I literally just finished my playthrough 10 minutes ago for the first time and that was my ending. My honest reaction was “holy shit this is so sick, but I also definitely picked the ‘bad’ ending” lol. I haven’t watched this video yet because I immediately saw this comment, but I’m curious how this sending songbird to the moon ending compares to the others. The biggest “oh shit I feel kinda bad” moment during this ending for me was when you encounter reed at the very and have to take him out to get song to the shuttle. That felt real bad to me, because as far as I saw it in a first time playthrough, reed wasn’t a bad dude. I opposed him because I didn’t wanna turn song over to the feds because I know what kinda fucked up shit they pull in the cyberpunk universe. Even though she committed treason, v ain’t no saint either. And I felt like v and songbird kind of related to each other because they were in very similar deathbound situations, where they would do anything to survive. The betrayal near the end hurt, but I was already in too deep to back out lol

King of wands is the best ending for me. It has 2 very important lessons for V. 1. The likelihood of being betrayed is much higher than not. 2. Beware of someone with unshakeable loyalty to the Corp/country (Takemura & Hanako). Reed deserves to die for his loyalty to something that deserves none. It's a good warning against the devil ending. After experiencing that, no one would trust Arasaka at the end. My V put her on that space ship to prove a point. That V is is not a low life betrayer and user that only cares about themselves like most ppl in cyberpunk. When she takes on a job she finishes it.. sees it through to the end.

thats an interesting pov but i dont think its right. V went through all that before just for the promise of being cured, very early on realised everyone is being used and played and cure is what kept v going. skipping to the choice siding with songbird is obvious for v because hearing how reed spoke about redhead twins after killing them, worthless criminals who deserved to die(spoke worse about somi after learning her plan). in the train when v hears about betrayal it makes no sense to call reed just to let myers have her anyway. then killing reed in the end also make no sense for v because after all that v is tired of being played and just wants the cure or to be over with manipulations. v who wants to live would never kill reed because there would be no chance of cure and standing up for songbird after being used from start isnt on top of v's list of priorities, also would potentially create problems from nusa in future. too bad cure ending is bad but choices leading up to it are 100% what make sense for v

For me the "best" ending is what V would have done in the moment, meaning without any knowledge from other pathes and the future. And then I guess the "best" ending depends on what kind of person you think V is. For me V was always someone who knows they will die and fights with everything they have to find a way to keep living. Songbird is the one person that actually provides V with a concrete plan to save their life, something the NUSA never does. This is why I decided to side with Songbird and go to the spaceport. And then when I was sitting in that final train with Songbird admitting that she betrayed me I noticed that she is the same as V: someone who is dying and fights with everything they have to survive. In that moment she was the only person to ever truly connect with V and the other way around. I believe this connection is the reason she entrusted herself to V in the first place. And I (V) couldn't bring myself to hate her for the betrayal, as I might have done the same thing if it was MY only way out. Yes she might still die, but at least she dies on her own terms, knowing she did everything she could have, and that there is a person out there that actually cared about her.

I genuinely believe the king of cups ending is the best for everyone. It prevents Mr Blue Eyes and Myers getting their hands on So Mi, but also allows So Mi to end things on her own terms. You can never really trust if it's her or the AI in control, she's quite happy to kill anyone standing in her path including many innocent bystanders in the stadium if you side against her. The AI likely has full control of her by the end of the game, and the only true moment she has with you is when she asks you to kill her. Rescueing her results in a massacre, war and a potential rogue AI running free. Handing her to Myers is essentially submitting So Mi to a life of inprisonment and to be used as a weapon.

But I granted her request because A. If she’s right about her fate, that’s arguable the worst fate for her. B. She likely wouldn’t get better. C. Even if she got better, Meyers would never let her be free. D. Even if she did, the risk to Blackwell is too great. At least if she’s dead, the NUSA’s tampering is delayed. King of cups. I was furious with So Mi because I understood during the mission to rescue her from Kurt, that she has been using me this whole time, and she will face the consequences of her choices. So I sided with NUSA, even though it was a very difficult decision to take, which was repaid shortly after by having kurt killed by my own hands, something I was waiting to do since the very beginning of the Dlc. After that, I felt sorry for Alex, I felt sorry for the twins, but I really still believed in Reed and NUSA, so went all in to recapture her. Once deep in Cynosure, with her sharing (or losing on the way) her memories, I understood that she was like me (in my real life), she had everything she needed and she lost all because she had been betrayed....... At this very point I took the decision to spare her from being used ever again, I forgive her, and help her be free. What a game.
@ignatius2510 Жыл бұрын
I went into PL spoiler-free and chose to side with So Mi out of my spite toward Myers. I felt a bit empty after the plot twist on the train but still sent her to the moon. After that I revisited PL with my second character and sided with Reed. I am actually surprised how many information of So Mi was given in somewhat broken but not in the killing moon. It felt like CDPR was trying to make players empathizing So Mi if we choose to f her over, and make us feel betrayed in killing moon so that we would be motivated to play the other route (props to the devs). But let’s be honest, none of the route has positive influence on V’s fate (story wise). The tower ending in my opinion is on par with the devil, especially if you are play with the “don’t fear the reaper” character (the speech Johnny gave was 😢).
@Ambience-10 Жыл бұрын
As for the new ending, exclusive to PL, it’s hard to even say which ending is worse: “Devil” or “Tower”. V lost everything (just like in the “Devil” ending). In the "tower" ending, I personally had doubts about V's prospects for survival. Will he be able to fully recover after the operation (he literally can barely move)? If not, then his life is doomed to exist in the form of a weak person, and Night City does not spare the weak... Yes, the only way for V to survive is to become a fixer, and technically he will be able to do this thanks to his reputation, but will he succeed This? The issue is controversial for me personally, especially given the warnings of Rogue Amendiares. On the other hand, in the “Devil” ending, V has a ghostly hope of returning in a normal healthy body in the future, but the only question is when (moreover, V most likely will have, in principle, no connections with people in Night City, and no friends )? It is possible that Arasaka is not lying to V and they will indeed provide him with a new body in the future. Arasaka can literally force V’s personality to be digitized, but they release him if he refuses to digitize his personality, which is evidence in their favor. If there were real guarantees that V would receive a body in the future, then the “Devil” ending would definitely be better than the “Tower” ending - V in both cases loses friends and property, but in the first case he will at least have a healthy body, and with him prospects. The problem is that there are no such guarantees, so I believe that “Devil” and “Tower” are on the same level. Although the Tower ending made an even more depressing impression on me, perhaps due to the fact that it is longer and it clearly shows how weak and uninteresting to anyone (except for Victor, Misty and a couple of others) V has become.

In the Tower ending while V loses his old life, Arasaka still gets taken down by Yorinobu and Goro also sees the problem with Arasaka if you saved him, and V accomplishes was he was doing for the whole game... Survive however youre now a nobody, no one is remembering you, and you wont have the power to become a legend no more. You live a long quiet life and will die quietly. Its not a bad ending for V id argue its far better than the Devil ending because you help Arasaka keep its grip on the world and you dont even get to survive.

I would imagine practically everyone that reached the 'end' of this game feels the same way. But I think such an option will never happen. The problem with multiple endings/starts is that it's a huge resource, that personally I think is best spent on a more linear story path. If the sequel were to do as you'd want to see, ultimately it would prove an empty gift for loyal fans as ultimately the rest of the game would have to be the same for everyone meaning that the V that loses her body, the V that only has six months to live, the V that joins the 'matrix'(!), the V that loses the ability to have implants/cyber-tech, would have all of massive life-changing/ended circumstance reversed, made ultimately a worthless and pointless drama (literally) out of nothing! Don't get me wrong, I love the idea you suggest. A long time ago I had hoped to see a similar thing with Mass Effect. But I think multiple endings, multiple character-states is such a huge investment in both time and importantly finances that the industry will always follow the simpler, easier, cheaper path. Personally I don't agree with multiple endings. In part, and in particular should the game get a sequel. But also because it either feels like indecision or desperation. Every story ever told could have had multiple endings; and I'd guess billions of people are rather happy to have one ending to every movie, book, TV show, whatever, that they've enjoyed. To know that the writer/s had a story from start to end and told it as best as they could. Sure, I am just two endings short of having played them all for this game (I only bought it a couple of weeks ago, and spent the first week building/progessing the character's stats/abilities; that's why I'm so late to the table). But I playing them all because I feel compelled. Apart from the atrocious driving mechanics, miserable one-trick mini-game and still the odd glitch/issue, I have, I am loving the game, and so I'm desperately trying not to miss out on anything. Saying that almost all of the endings I've completed so far (doing them in order of what I have had the least interest in, or what I think would be the 'worst') I've found downright miserable, depressing and sad. I have absolutely loved the voice-acting from the V I've played, the female version. Like with Shepard in Mass Effect, I think the female actress is in a whole different class to the male version. And with her ability to emote, express sorrow, anger, happiness, fear, etc a large part of my enjoyment has come from the actor's performance, but I think bringing V back will partly seem contrived. I suspect that's what will happen, but in a way I guess I'd rather see the developers do a 'GTA' create a new character(s, male and female, of course, as this is a perfect game mechanic), with a new adventure/story. But if a contrived bringing back of (our) V is the path they choose, I won't be disappointed. I just hope they fulfill a plan they expressed 18 months prior to this one arriving... and create an online (ala GTA) so that instead of acquiring the best gear/abilities/equipment/set-up to be used for a tiny proportion of the game we can play until we care to stop. Long story short. I like your idea, but I think you might be disappointed if you really think that'll happen (but I hope my prediction is wrong!).

@quantumjet253Ай бұрын
@@prisonisinourminds8070 Sure, nothing's impossible. But personally I'm not convinced that they'll bother, and believe they'll likely just go a typical route of starting everyone off in the same place. But yeah, I can (and hope) they follow the path you've suggested. The 'issue' though doing this, and this applies to all sequels who's previous game had more than one ending... what happens with those who have completed all, and those that have completed one, but found out about another one that they'd rather have done. What annoys me about these 'continuing stories...' type sequels (and actually why I love the MMORPG/games as a service route) is that they always rework the abilities/skills making all the previous game's progression worthless, which I suppose 'has' to be done because at the end of any RPG-style game we end it as unbelievably powerful, essentially unstoppable characters. I think the better strategy is to do what most game sequels do and give us a brand new character making the integration of whatever new game mechanics more logical and acceptable. Look, don't misread my negativity. I love the current game. I'm pretty sure I'll love the sequel, and whatever path the developers choose I trust them. I only have two wishes; they dramatically improve the driving mechanics and actually develop a persistent online version for some coop fun/and continuously updated mini-missions and new gear/items.

But so did Reed. He said he would help So Mi disappear but that never happens in any scenario. His plan in firestarter is a massive fuck up of incompetence and if the game was more flexible I would have it so you can go ahead as normal and then try and persuade Reed/So Mi while escaping. At least that way Alex doesn't die. Myers is a terrorist and Reed is a loyal dog. The NUS is solely responsible for what happens in Killing Moon. So I don't even factor that in as a reason not to help So Mi. It only reinforces that we shouldn't help the NUS in anyway. They should not get So Mi's body and they definitely shouldn't get her back alive. I trust blue eyes more than Myers after everything that happened.

Anyway my corpo V understood the struggle to get away from the corporate overlords and that while So Mi was reckless, she was desperate and nothing she did was enough to escape the iron fist of Myers. Also, V is pretty reckless herself and doesn’t have lessons to give to anyone, considering the heist, the kang tao AV, the kidnapping at the parade and the assault on Mikoshi.

I wish in the king of wands ending when she tells us about the neural matrix, there was a dialogue option like "I had my suspicions" or "I expected something like this" or something. Given shit V has gone through and my character having the corpo life path, he should have expected this. I find it hard to believe that V didn't have any doubts about Songbird. He sounded pretty surprised like he completely believed her. Because Song was pretty sus for me after we put it together after the party. She got even more suspicious with the way she behaves in the conversation in the place that reminds her of home. If you stay serious and dead honest in that conversion it's pretty apparent she is trying to sweet talk us and her desperation just shows. She really want her plan to work. That "would have helped anyway" line by V was exactly what I was doing all along. And thought he knew as well, helping despite his doubts.

Cant or wont? Because as you told 100 times, the AI will follow any order you tell it to, you CAN cure us both, you just wont, guess I'd be a loose end. My take on King of Swords (Long read, TLDR at bottom): This is the ending I got on my first playthrough of PL. Now, if we are looking at it through a gaming/loot lens, we get jack shit in this ending, no question. But I want to break it down narratively, at least from my perspective at the time. I went into PL completely blind, no spoilers or anything, and I want to say that it really makes sense for V in the way the story transpires. How? Well, firstly we are introduced to Reed, Alex and So Mi who are all in a dire situation from the get go, all topped off with the promise of a cure. Early on I realized that there was sketchy behavior on both sides (So Mi betraying Reed in the past, and Reed and Alex executing the twins) but in my mind V was going through all of the obstacles in Dogtown for one thing, that cure Songbird promised. Clock was ticking and it was our best shot (I finished the game at launch but wanted to play PL as if I didn't know about future events). Fast-forward to So Mi opening up on the balcony and she seemed completely genuine, after which I was pretty sure that I wasn't going to 100% go with Reed's plan of betraying her since I saw that she really didn't want to go back to Myers. It's important to note that at this point I'm already invested in all of the character's stories and have really grown fond of them, meaning that whatever happens I don't want to get anyone killed. Fast-forward some more and there I am giving Alex the thumbs up to slice Hansen to ribbons. Escape with So Mi doesn't go smooth at all like I hoped but I thought "fuck it", in too deep already and I'm leaving with the cure one way or another. Then it happened, on the train ride to the shuttle So Mi drops the bomb that we have been had all along. Now, this part sort of fucked me up because obviously given her past I thought she might betray me but I had hoped that after her opening up and V being her only hope that she would at least help a brother out. I was still considering letting her fly up there but when Reed walked out, I just couldn't do it, I couldn't end this man's life over someone who I didn't trust anymore and most of all is a walking WMD on a trajectory to the Moon to meet with the AI gods. I realized that I might have made a mistake trusting her and going through with her plan, but it was too late, the damage was done. It was then I decided that it was enough, I had done horrible things, been betrayed, and put into countless horrible situations in the span of a couple of days. I put Songbird down and let Reed have her, hoping that after everything he would at least try to look after her. I even refused the damn cure, wanted nothing to do with it, I just wanted to be out of that situation. Decided that Panam's ending is still better off than dealing with shit this heavy. Silver lining though, talked to Reed afterwards and he seemed to have a new outlook. Got a post card from Monte Carlo from Alex too, which means she got her wish. Not being hunted by the FIA either so Myers can eat dirt. And Songbird... it sucks but at least she isn't dead. She might have to serve but being alive means the possibility of escaping in the future, maybe even with Reed's help seeing that he is having a change of heart. And last but not least, let's not forget that humanity's greatest threat is still tucked away beyond the Blackwall, at least for now... TLDR: Got played, commited war crimes and after countless horrors just had enough and even gave up on the cure. But at least everyone I met along the way lived to see another day. No war and no helping AI overlords to world domination.

@dzramen Жыл бұрын
And the thing is that you can still get the cure in the end. Gameplay wise it doesn't matter, because getting the cure kind of ends the game, but putting yourself into V's shoes, accepting an offer from NUSA sounds much better than accepting Hanako's offer (in both cases you get an offer from a corp/government, but in Arasaka's case the offer is conditional and you did steal their most valuable tech after all), and the other options of invading the Arasaka HQ are basically suicide missions that you can only beat, because its a video game and you can reload to previous save when you die. Without the benefit of hindsight on my first playthrough, I did go with this path, but I would add that betraying Reed at first isn't just about Reed vs Songbird and also about the massive overconfidence in the plan of just using software to beat Songbird, who is shown to be uniquely the most capable netrunner in the FIA doing dangerous things with the Blackwall on multiple occasions and coming out alive. Slider got literally fried in his full setup while Songbird can communicate with you via Blackwall while walking and talking with Hansen. Its clear that Songbird is hiding something, so just logically thinking its not a great idea to go against her without a foolproof way of incapacitating her when moments before the decision she tells you that killing a bunch of random people to survive is perfectly fine (and well, thats in addition to nearly killing the president).

That wasn't far off from my experience, either. It felt right to save Songbird, fight the NUSA to get her out of there, and wipe out an entire armada of black ops all to spit in Myers' eye. But that veneer of rebellion just melted away when she revealed she'd played us like a fiddle. And I tossed around with the decision for so long when Reed showed up. I googled it and discovered I'd get a new ending if I gave her up, and fuck-all if I didn't. That was the dealbreaker for me. Sorry, Song. You dicked me.

It's implied that Songbird has Avoidant Personality Disorder or AvPD underneath all that emotional and physical abuse she experienced at FIA. Now obviously I'm no psychiatrist but respected sources do tell me that people with AvPD fear the most that a person rejects them so by betraying her at the lab the player causes her worst fear to happen and because of that inner turmoil the AI (that she constantly has to fight) was able to take more control hence the voice and eye color changes. When you don't betray her only her eyes change color. During somewhat damaged she asks those things because you the player were supposed to understand her fight to live. V most likely was the only person she has opened up to even the little amount she did since start at FIA.

I also like that this is the ending where the world gets shaken the most by the immediate consequences, it's a chance to alter the status quo. Just siding with Reed and giving So Mi up to the NUSA just feels very similar to the Devil's ending in terms of just siding with the Corps. My ending was the king of cups and I'm super satisfied by it. My V (a female ex corpo netrunner holding a bit of empathy) tried everything to actually resolve the situation with the minimum number of casualties and siding with So Mi wasn't an option, Reed was genuinely honest saying he would have taken her far away from Myers after her rescue but things degenerated drastically after the choice, the death of Alex was a tragic accident (My V couldn't predict what would happen after the use of the ICE-breaker) and Reed had to swap back to the original plan giving So Mi to Myers. After discovering more about the Cynosure project, So Mi's memories and the real danger of the rogue AI to the human race my V decided in an act of both mercy towards Songbird and caring for the fate of the world to end So Mi's life even though this would lead to the lost of the only opportunity to save V's life. Giving Songbird back to the NUSA alive, allowing them to secretly keep going beyond the Blackwall, was a real danger and the game wasn't worth it. The overall experience with Songbird changed drastically my V, even though she has now the means to unleash the power of the blackwall thanks to the Erebus or the Militech Canto Mk.6 she decided to be a kind of guardian of the blackwall refusing to use such power, also going against the NUSA in the end kind made her closer to Johnny's view of the world. V will eventually find her "solution" someway inside the Mikoshi. The final conversation wit Reed also gave V the chance to plant the seed of doubt regarding his relationship with the NUSA

Although I agree King of Swords is arguably the worst ending given it's the one that causes the most damage to the world (the spaceport massacre, Myers having Songbird tinker with the Blackwall again and what seems like an inminent 5th corporate war) I disagree in that it's pointless. Songbird hired V to save the president and promised V a cure. And not only did V save the president, they also agreed to help her escape. They could've easily have sold her out to the NUSA but instead chose the harder route. And then, she reveals that she cannot cure you. That there is only one cure, that she has been lying to you this whole time and that she planned to use it to save herself. I guess it depends on how you play as V, but I know mine hadn't gone through all that shit only for Songbird, her "friend" to suddenly reveal everything had been a lie and that she wasn't going to actually help. I'm sorry So Mi, maybe if you had told me earlier I wouldn't have minded, but if you put me through hell with the promise of a cure, you better bet I'm going to get it. Friendships are built on trust, and betraying me like that isn't what I'd consider the beginning of one.
@ReaperCet Жыл бұрын
So mi isn't your friend, you knew her for a week tops lol. But I agree. They could have written it so that there WERE 2 cures, but one got damaged in the escape. Then you could choose to save yourself and live with the guilt, or save her. That would have been 1000% better imo. Now, I just hate songbird lol.

Well said, had the exact same thoughts and having seen the trailer for phantom liberty So mi just seems like a Manipulator and a liar for all the one on one talk she’s had with v making us believe she was genuine and sincere about helping us with the cure, not saying it’s totally unjustifiable for her to seek out the cure but using another person just as desperate and vulnerable to help fight for you only to throw them under the bus just left a bad taste for me.
@jakeschwartz25149 ай бұрын
Buddy that means to get the cure you used Songbird and her Blackwall powers till she dropped just like Myers did. You are absolutely no better than the NUSA’s use of Songbird and the blackwall. The best ending is giving Songbird to Reed and not taking the cure at all.
@dianasaurus31749 ай бұрын
@@jakeschwartz2514 nah bro So Mi literally manipulates you the whole time and then at least has the decency to reveal she was planning on leaving you to rot. She used V. This is Night City, and morality may be fine and dandy but when you're dying and the only actual cure that you've been fighting for is slipping away, are you really going to let it go to waste because "it's the right thing to do"? It's a selfish choice, like how her manipulating V into doing most of her bidding was a selfish choice. But it's absolutely not on the same level as Myers.

Let me explain why King of Cups (Songbird dies) is the best ending. If you pay attention to all the information that Songbird gives you in the Brooklyn apartment, you realized that the AI is slowly, but surely devouring her psyche. She is becoming a meat puppet (as much meat as she has left) for the AI. If you let her live and hand her over to the NUSA, it's a fate worse than death. Now, why is sending her to the moon not a good ending for her. Three words: Mr. Blue Eyes. Now, you may be wondering, how is it bad that Mr. Blue Eyes is involved in sending her to the moon. 1) Mr. Blue Eyes contacts her, not her contacting him to get a ticket to the moon. 2) Mr. Blue Eyes is directly involved in the modifying the memories of the Peralezes. 3) While you get a message from Songbird saying she's doing good, the black clinic may have allowed the AI to fully take over and it now knows how to hide its control. Songbird dying is the only way she can be truly free. Reed also has his best ending under Songbird dying where he finally realizes that everything he's done, all his ideals, have been for nought and now he has a chance to actually free himself. It's the worst ending for Alex. It's also a middle finger to Meyers as well.
@WaterWitch83 Жыл бұрын
I think letting So Mi die is the best ending. I just wish she had given V the neural matrix (before Reed shows up) like Jacki did with the bio chip. That would give the NUSA fewer things to doom the world. Also from a story basis destroying the behavioral chip before making it into a weapon would make that ending even better. On a side note, you can disassemble said chip which I think is actually not something that was intended. Since it doesn’t fail the quest to visit the netrunner. Now if Blue Eyes ends up being on the good side (I have my doubts) then sending So Mi to the moon would be the best ending. The innocent lives taken would be less than what it would be if the AIs are allowed to wipe humanity off the face of the earth. Lastly there is one better response to Myers than telling her fuck you. I forget which one it was, but Myers says “don’t forget who you’re talking to” and V replies, “and who would that be?” Which I think hits Myers harder in more ways than the fuck you response. It gives her more food for thought to say. She can just shrug off a fuck you as V being immature.

Did King of Swords. Mostly cause Songbird did feel like the better ally for most of the quest, buuuuut... Then Songbird tells V she basically duped them. That kind of betrayal made giving her up in return for getting to live the most satisfying end for me. It was a very cyberpunk ending - you struggle, and its all for nought in the end.

The "Cure" ending in my opinion is still one imo very slept on. It's probably one of the more sadder endings in the game considering how much you lose in the end. But I think that's kinda the point. I think the game is supposed to show you that despite all odds and how dire the situation comes for V he/she can find a purpose outside of being a Merc. You lost most of your friends but you can still technically contact Misty and V. Don't get me wrong the ending has A LOT of problems and I think the writing suffers on this one alot. Panam completely abandoning you is sooo out of character and Rogue not wanting you to go back to the afterlife is just cruel.

I enjoyed the ending too, but is it a 'good' ending for V tho? We've played through the game seeing random people from every facet of life get stomped on, except for the edgerunners and high up corpos. Today, V gets pushed down the stairs, tomorrow, it's her getting splatted on a sidewalk from a gang drive-by. V survived, but her feats didn't really earn her anything. Overall I thought they wanted to emphasize that the 'peaceful life' Dex was going on about doesnt really exist in NC

Bizarrely, your worst PL ending is my first (and best) ending: - Reed survives - Alex survives - Songbird survives (albeit living a sad, horrible life as an NUSA prisoner, but if your "proxy for blackwall AIs on the moon" theory is correct, that might be even worse) - V has the option to undergo neural matrix treatment (probably won't take it, but still) - Myers.. idk what happens to her, but I assume she's forgiven V since he surrendered Songbird in the end, or at least, doesn't put a hit on him/her.

I replayed each ending three times, depending on who I was in the past. For me, the best of all is: 1 place) The King of Cups (StreetKid), 2 place) The King of Swords, where we refuse help from the FIA and NUSA (Corpo) 3) The King of Wands (Nomad) 4) The King of Pentkals is the worst of all. Blindly go to save your life, without analyzing the consequences and without looking at yourself and your strength, intuition and advice from our friends to overcome the hopeless feeling of coming death, by accepting a mission from a government whose leader has more sins than us and he uses all his subordinates, just like us. That's my opinion. Someone else's is different. But this opinion of the author of the video is also good, in his view.

I have a theory but I need to wear my foil hat. In the King of Wands when you send So Mi to the moon, the neural matrix can fix her. But in King of Swords and King of Pentacles something stinks. What I think is that they destroy our chrome compatibility on purpose. The player is unpredictable and really powerful as shown during the quests, Myers knows that we will never be fully her lap dog like Reed. So on one hand they "heal" us but at the same time disarm us. But still the hospital ending killed me, the goodbye to Johnny, Vs lines and how everyone left us. It was unbearable.

Siding with Reed and mercy killing Songbird is my favourite ending, especially playing as Corp V. Becoz, the NUSA can’t get the full power of Songbird, Reed survives and goes through a self-reflection arc, and Songbird gets “freedom”. Sending her off to the moon alive just turns her into a weapon for Mr Blue Eyes
@indiexanna Жыл бұрын
My first ending is King of Wands and I will stand by it as the best ending : Myers got f-ed and will no longer be able to order So Mi and Reed around, Reed unfortunately died but that's part of the consequences he has to face when you're blindly following orders from Myers, Alex got to leave NC to somewhere better for her, and So Mi got her wish granted. Mr Blue Eyes is pleased with the result. Now we don't know what does he really want but if the theory that he's a human avatar for rogue AIs, then I think it would be beneficial for us to side with him as by the end of the Cyberpunk ending V will have a lot of allies from the blackwall : - We already have Alt helping us from the Blackwall - If you decided to live on in the ending, Johnny will get absorbed by the Blackwall. There's a chance that this could affect how the Blackwall behaves towards V - Assuming So Mi did not survive the moon and ended up getting absorbed by the Blackwall anyway, there's a chance that this will also affect how the Blackwall behaves towards V - Everyone at Mikoshi will remember V as their liberator as they get absorbed by the Blackwall, there's a chance that this will also affect how the Blackwall behaves towards V And who knows whether V ended up dying after the original ending, we already saw that there's a solution that can keep V alive for as long as at least 2 years. Maybe Mr Blue eyes will offer to help V at one point as now they understand that in order to "control" Night City, the "Children of the Net" won't be enough and there has to be a human element in play.

I personally turned her in first chance I got. The ends do not justify the means in her case. Yeah, the circumstances she was put under and even during the dlc were pretty bad. But the amount of people she hurt, using our hope of a cure from the relic for her own survival, and willing to put the countries well-being at risk just to save her own skin is... something I don't much abide by. I stand by my decision. Screw Song.
@isaiahdismuke147222 күн бұрын
Thank you! So many people are all over Song. Even outside the mission Reed genuinely cares for her and would sacrifice is foot for her but she wouldn’t mind walking over his dead body to save her life. If we are going by the main story of the game helping Song just to be betrayed and get nothing out of it wastes the time V needed to get a cure and can be seen ultimately as the reason we don’t find a solution in time. So there is that issue everyone is missing. Time is Vs most needed asset and Song burned through it all for a pile of bodies she help build.

"King of Pentacles at the top is a controversial choice" - Fuck yeah it is. The mission is amazing, but from a story perspective it is probably the worst. Alex is dead, Song is in a place worse than death, the politicians won and Reed does not see the flaws. And honestly, the tower ending for V is also a crazy downer. The best imo is sticking it to Meyers by either fulfilling Songs request in somewhat damaged or by flying her to the moon.

19:36 in the King of Pentacles Ending, So Mi attempted that permanent connection to blackwall, so her being to far gone might be exclusive to that ending. Not to mention the way we receive implant from So Mi in King of Wands seems to suggest things went well for her.

Imo helping sending So Mi to the moon is the best ending overall. So Mi was the only one who could empathize with V's situation. And even though she was dishonest with V, V still gets to save her, V gets the text from her a few in-game days later. Yes, we have to kill Reed in this ending, which is a big downside, but we also get to free Alex and say "fuck you" to Myers. If we're meant to be "cyberpunks," then this ending is the most fitting to me.

Uhhhh...... You 2 are in the same situation.... And then she pulls the whole "yeah btw i lied to you and this cant help you". Doing that shit to the player is the biggest betrail there is exactly because she is in the same situation. All the endings are once again fucked just like the main game. CDPR can't let the player win even once, even so many years later.

But you essentially let So Mi go with the ability of, not just the NUSA, but lot of people with special interest to see the world burn to track her down and abuse her again. We are talking people like Arasaka, Miltech, Mr. Blue Eyes, etc. etc. Not to mention the AIs from beyond the Blackwall still have a death grip around her. If anything that ending is probably doubled the disaster that Silverhand could have ever brought. Hell it’s probably would even rival that of Bartmoss collapsing the first Net. And let’s not forget all the people you had killed and lied too, just for some girl who had done nothing but lied and manipulated everyone to basically let a herself run off and become a highly sought after target for the rest of her life to try to get cured for herself only. Is it really that punk when you basically set the stage for farther doom down the line and we just really don’t get anything out of it?

I like this ending not necessarily because of any logical rational reason, but because it feels the best in my mind. Somi is in a similar situation as you and despite obvious deception there's a connection there. You can give her the unconditional love and backing that you yourself wish to have to get through your own situation. Surrendering Somi to the feds, even if I get cured feels like betrayal to both Somi and me. Not doing that. And if Reed is stupid enough to keep sucking the president's tittie he deserves what's coming, honestly.
@yungtoolshed25111 ай бұрын
To be honest I think killing SoMi and backstabbing literally everyone at the end is the best ending. It gives you the best loot, more awesome gameplay moments, and one of the coolest levels in the game being the cyanosure facility. Also SoMi is freed from the black wall AI’s trying to kill her, the NUSA trying to use her, Reed trying to “protect” her, and Hansen holding her hostage. SoMi has no ability to regain her freedom and she is also the largest threat to the existence of everyone considering the power she has and what can randomly happen to her when she loses control. Killing her is the one decision she has had the capacity to make for herself which is why I did it.

That way I can spam So-Mi with friend requests via the blackwall :)

Maybe not technically an ending, but my favorite thing to do is immediately leave the Dogtown area after getting Songbird's mission. This fails the mission. Myers plane crashes and she gets killed, Songbird gets mad at you. Johnny shows up and says that you screwed up the mission but good riddance anyways. I think it's the best outcome for V, since most of what you do in Dogtown benefits other people instead. But everybody technically lives except Myers.

My first ending was king of pentacles, and I genuinely couldn’t parse through my feelings on it for a few days. I felt cowardice from my inability to fulfill So Mi’s final wish after what not only she had been through in the past, but what we put her through by betraying her. I felt anger at Reed, for not being able to overcome his programming and actually help So Mi. I felt disgust for Myers and her flagrant lack indifference towards So Mi’s well-being beyond needing her alive. I felt excitement getting to duel with Hansen in a really intense boss battle. I felt horror from the chimera, combined with intrigue from the Erebus blueprint I discovered and the terminals where the blackwall AI speaks about our world. And finally, I just… didn’t know how to feel about V, and I still kind of don’t. They survived, and like they said in the original games endings, they wanted to live, and they did. The life and people they knew is gone, but so many new opportunities are available to them now, maybe a calmer, more peaceful life. Still, mercwork was all V knew, and despite the circumstances through which some of them meet, people who care about them. I know a lot of people hate it, but it’s my second favorite ending after Temperance and right before the sun ending. This expansion is incredible, CDPR at their best, everything dialed up to 11.

I feel like the ending that prevents the lunatics of the Cyberpunk world from opening the way for the Rouge AIs from taking over the world is obviously the best we can hope for. Sure we can let Songbird live and escape, but it’s like Johnny said she’s a walking nuke making too many mistakes. It just leaves Myers and Mr. Blue Eyes and the Corps and the AIs a chance to find her and abuse her. So really an ending where she is put out of her misery and be free of this constant back and forth and potentially denying those monsters from grabbing means of annihilation easily. It may not be enough to stop it, but denying the apocalypse farther is just the right thing to do. Plus we actually do give So Mi a real freedom. It may not be 100% with Johnny or V’s principles to do so, but we can’t really bog ourselves down being loyal to principles like Reed from doing what is just the right thing to do in the end. Putting an end to all of this before it spirals out more than it needs to be. So I have to say King of Cups. It just feels like the most hopeful choice even if it’s not exactly a great choice. After all, in a dystopian world, there are no good and happy endings. But hope that things can be better is better then a happy ending. So Mi is finally granted actually peace and freedom, Reed is finally awaken to the fact he was a prisoner of principle, Myers and the dystopian world is potentially denied a super weapon, and the AIs are pushed back from conquering the world another day.

I believe the King of Wands ending is the best because it gives liberty to everyone involved. For Alex, she gets a deserved retirement and leaves everything behind V and SoMi... They are basically the same person: both poked the wrong nest, and now trying to fix their lives. Giving her freedom is not 100% will give her chance to live, but still much higher in other endings: even if FIA finds a way to place her on feets again, I am certain that she will give up her life, sooner or later, considering how desperate she was to cure herself. Reed is a meat puppet of FIA, controlled by Myers. He is nothing but a tool. Killing him may sound weird, but it's a way to give him freedom from the puppeteer and his past. V is similar to Reed, he becomes free. Yes, he doesn't get anything from that, but maybe it is for the best. Besides, other ending showed that CURE without Mikoshi exists, which gives hope for V in Aldecaldos ending, that they will find a way.

I find it very puzzling how people think that we betray So'Mi if we eventually leave her to Reed, as we were the ones that we were played all along. From a neutral standpoint the shit So'Mi was in was caused by her alone, she was used to making a mess out of things and getting saved by some fool. As much as I liked her, she played V from the start, she wanted to get away from NUSA, from Hansen, and ultimately use the neural matrix to heal herself. V was simply a pawn that helped her reach her goals. She played it nice, sentimental, manipulated V (albeit maybe not in a sociopathic manner) in order to get herself out of the mess she caused. While I really did not want to let her go to Reed, I also was left with rather a simple choice, after being betrayed by her. There is no V betraying So'Mi, there is only V correcting his choices last minute when he finds out he has been played all along. His choices and promises were based off of lies and intentional misdirection. Backtracking once you know the truth is not betrayal. Good DLC nonetheless, still not as good as Knights of Touissant.

I'm in a really tough dilemma with this endings and the OG game's ones... I just finished the DLC and got the last ending (22:35) and to be fair... it's good. But, I can't even begin to describe how bad I feel for EVERYONE. Vik is serving Zetatech, Reed is stuck as a Goverment's office paperholder, Panam is broken 💔, Johnny is gone forever, and V is... He died before the coma, there is just a shadow. My OG ending was the secret ending of the base game. So I reflected. Is it better to live? To keep moving forward until the body gives up? To live a life thinking "could I have done things any better?" Or on the other hand... to go out with a bang, living by your own rules, even if it's brief? To die your own way and be remembered as a legend? Maybe, just maybe, going down while at your prime is better than to live to see the ending of all.

Idk, from my perspective and how i played, phantom liberty new overall ending doesnt make much sence, so in hindsight its either wands or cups, since its kinda natural to finish the game with tower ending if you go with the other 2 paths. And i like cups more of those 2. Out of all 4, only one that makes little sence is swords, everything else works fine tbh. But players should definitely try out pretty much all since this is one finely crafted piece of content. Great video mate and also great comment section, its so good seeing people all around the place with choices and arguments, which means cdpr did stellar job with this one👌

I actually never did any of the endings other than the one where you rescue SoMi and send her to the Moon. I found myself just completely uninspired to play through the others, knowing how they end. Plus, given how when you are talking to Reed leading up to The Choice, he says repeatedly that he would do anything to get SoMi out of the situation she is in. Well...I took him at his word, and decided I wouldn't let his misguided loyalty to a political bitch, ruin his efforts to save the girl he helped to destroy....even if that means he has to die to do it.

Yeah, Reed is too much of a useful idiot for Myers. One of the easiest ways to manipulate people is by playing to their ego of being a good person. "You're a good person, I know you won't let anything happen to So Mi. If you get her we can take care of her."

I thought that the Things Done Changed ending was unfair in the way it was written. To get there in the first place, you have to "betray" So Mi either by siding with Reed, leading to the confrontation in Cynosure and deciding to not kill her, which is written to be "bad," or by giving her up to Reed at the spaceport, which is also "bad." So, in order to get to TDC, you have to go with the two bad options. Then there's the whole energy behind TDC. The central plot of the game is V trying to find a way to live since the Relic is killing them, and TDC presents that way. The Relic is removed, V lives, but Johnny is destroyed and V loses all of their friends. Viktor, River, Kerry, Panam, Judy, and Misty have all gone their own ways, and V is left as a powerless nobody since the procedure broke her nervous system so much that she can't handle combat implants. I don't like how the whole plot behind the game is for V to live, and when V has that option, it's the one that takes everything away from them. Further, the notion that V has "fallen" doesn't make sense in a world like Cyberpunk. With all of that advanced technology, surely there are ways for V to still be a legendary merc. Hell, they already have expert knowledge of so many different types of guns, grenades, and blades, all things that function outside of cyberware. Further, exosuits have got to exist, or at least something like a netrunner suit that boosts bodily strength as opposed to helping with netrunning. Even further, how hard could it be to craft a biomask reminiscent of the Predator that does everything Kiroshi implants do, and then have the mask tied to a wrist computer that V can upload her quickhacks from? Between exosuits, various weapons, and some imagination, it's not at all fair to V that their life would end just because their body can't handle major implants anymore. It's also not fair that V going with the only surefire way of saving their life from the Relic is also the way that costs them their friends and reputation. That's just me, though. I think V could still be as great a merc as they were before, maybe even better, without implants, and the whole principle of the ending is dumb.

I actually like how the Tower ending handled the ending of V’s story. The price V pays for wanting to survive is costly, no matter what path you choose. I also see this ending as being scary because V’s life as a merc is over, but also hopeful.

Sending Songbird to the Moon is the best ending for me as in this one Alex survives and even gets her dream retirement which made me so happy as Alex is the character I sympathized with the most in Phantom Liberty. Songbird gets to escape NUSA's grip which is also great, of course she will be used by Mr B but she might still get a chance at life as we know that Mr B prefers subtle methods of control. At least we gave her a chance and that's what counts for me. She went through so much shit that she deserved a chance plus V knows how Songbird feels and has compassion for her, at least in the way I played the character. Reed gets the best ending here imo as otherwise he will never be able to get away from NUSA, serving them even when the ideals he signed up for and fought for were shattered and meant nothing to him anymore. If Reed lives, he also has to endure guilt for what he did to Songbird for the rest of his life, from the time he forcibly recruited her to either her death or eternal servitude to NUSA. So I believe that death is unfortunately the only escape from this for Reed. Other endings are really interesting as well but for me this one has the best possible paths the main characters can take. That includes V as they don't get the cure(staying in coma for two years is horrible for them btw) and get to have a nice heart to heart with Johnny about his choices compared to Songbird's.

Idk if this has been noticed already but in my opinion it’s a kinda sad but legendary detail! In the CGI trailer we see a display of how Reed gets betrayed by Songbird and gets finished off with 3 bullets. If you come at the confrontation with him at the launch pad (where by then he is betrayed by this time V). You can only shoot him maximum 3x before they cancel you out of pulling the trigger more and get animations of him getting hit 3x… crazy

I really wish cyberpunk 2077 had one happy ending instead of "you get to live, but..." for every outcome.
@robertkelly81913 ай бұрын
For that reason I like it, shows no matter what you do Night City will swallow you alive no matter what you do, the city always wins. The feeling of hopelessness is repeated throughout the game

@@robertkelly8191 yeah but that takes out the replayability. if the game basically says that no matter what I do, I'm just gonna have a bad ending, why would I play the game again knowing that basically nothing is gonna change?
@robertkelly81913 ай бұрын
@@DolchiStudio just depends if you just play it to change an ending. For me I replay as different “roles” Like a netrunner build, cyberpsycho, gung-ho, stealth e.t.c Sometimes I roleplay as the “good guy” making morally good decisions, or a cutthroat merc killing everyone in my way. The decisions you make affect characters and relationships. Even changes how you continue to the next set of gigs. It’s just like life, you can’t change the inevitable, death always comes for you, but you can change how you affect others based on your decisions. Just like edgerunners, the good guy doesn’t always win. Also I think the “you get to live, but…” is a great opportunity to set up the next DLC or future game. How can they continue to build on V if everything is sunshine and rainbows?
@DolchiStudio3 ай бұрын
@@robertkelly8191 certainly but as a single player game, I really think there should be a wide variety of endings if multiple ending and dialogue choice is a big part. look at witcher 3, it has the worst ending where ciri dies and geralt kills himself, then there is bad ending where only ciri dies, then there is a good ending where ciri becomes the empress and the best ending where ciri becomes a witcher and travels with geralt. only 4 endings yet still is far more than what cyberpunk offers.

From worst to best I'd go: Pentacles, Swords, Wands, Cups. I think it's the worst possible outcome for So Mi to be handed back to Myers, the one who doomed her in the first place by pushing her to exploit the Blackwall, which is stupidly dangerous in itself as any breach in the wall is an existential threat to humanity, so the FIA can't be trusted with such a weapon IMO especially as Myers is implied to prefer another corporate war (even though the last one almost wiped everyone out) to letting the knowledge of her Blackwall exploitation become common knowledge and taking the fall for it herself. I also think that Reed as deluded as he is doesn't deserve to die as he only had the best intentions for So Mi, even after she almost got him killed, and even says he would help cure her escape Myers and get help for her condition until she either goes cyberpsycho or escapes with V in Firestarter. So, Cups seems like the best ending as So Mi seems doomed regardless and Reed sort of breaks out of his mental block of not being able to see the FIA as wrong in any way.

I think the ending where V is betraying Songbird and being healed isn't so bad. Especially when you consider that Songbird wanted to betray him and was never willing or able to heal him. isn't as bad as everyone says. If V is a little more realistic and down-to-earth and looks at everything objectively, he still has good times ahead of him. He has Reed, even if the relationship is based on feelings of guilt on Reed's part. Yes, Reed isn't exactly there for him, but through him he has a job offer with the FBI. He also has an office job where he can hit the ground running as a “normal” person and secure his pension. He can meet new people there, perhaps a little less devious people than on the street. get to know another woman, settle down somewhere, etc. Screw Night City and this street life. V has to grow up and take advantage of his past. Not only does he have good and terrible memories, he has experience. He is extremely knowledgeable about technology, hardware, cyber-tech hacking, strategic thinking, etc. He's a little legend, he can put his name on a drink. He took Arasaka apart on his own, worked with the greatest personalities and interacted. Killed legends, saved the president, etc. I think if V would stop seeing everything so negatively, he still has a good life ahead of him. Yes, not the life that was placed in his lap (criminal) but in my opinion even better. He was betrayed, he suffered losses, but he can build a lot for himself. What happens to his life now would be interesting to see. It can be really good if he also gets psychological help

V isnt a real person, just letting you know to stay in reality. He also killed so many people either way.. maybe he just needs a therapist lol The best ending is to self delete in the end. It proves Night City is an abyss and makes the most sense V never displays even a bit of resistance to constantly fighting for his survival. His determination is down right anime in scale. But, a real person wouldnt go to such lengths especially without second thoughts.

@@jakeschwartz2514 the best ending is subjective. Every person who plays this game has a different personality, perspective, life experiences, and morals and thus will react differently to the characters and choices presented.
