I've been playing Roland V-Drums since the TD-10 back in '97 and have stuck with V-Drums ever since. Wouldn't call myself a Roland fanboy, but I have certainly invested heavily in them over the years. Roland quality has always struck me as top-tier, and Alesis has never impressed me - especially in terms of quality. However, this new kit looks like they may have finally shown up for game day. Will reserve final judgment until I can actually sit down behind the kit, but from what I'm seeing and hearing from pro's that I respect, looks like the real deal.

Great looking module with lots of sounds…except they forgot to include blue tooth audio. Come on Alesis! And no cross stick sound
@DjangoFlaherty5 ай бұрын
Honestly, this sounds and looks pretty convincing to me. The only thing sticking out to me are the toms machine gunning. It looks as if it's partly a dynamic range issue, like it's too easy to hit 'full velocity' when a real drum still has more to go. Also, whereabouts you hit a real tom also affects the timbe. Doesn't stop me wanting one though.

I have the strike pro se and even tho that kit has some amazing samples, it also has a lot of horrible ones. The samples on this one seem to be much higher quality in general.

@williamperri3437 It's not a deal breaker for me personally. I don't even know that Superior Drummer and some other programs support it? The module sounds better than any Roland no matter what features it has. I'm more concerned with the long term durability and the super wobbly hi-hat.
@tnypxl9 ай бұрын
@@arsonne Superior Drummer does, but I think it requires extra setup for each pad since they likely don't have presets for this new kit yet.

Sounds good! $3400? 😞 I heard someone say that finding a good drummer is the most difficult task for a band. Is that true? I see so many great drummers on KZbin (at least to my eyes and ears) that I find that hard to believe.

If we all be truthful, we know what we heard, we will ofto use the factory drums as an template to work from, then create our own, its mandatory to change the instruments, hopefully the module have enough samples to create something from so we don't ofto go buy, easy drummer software, el estepario siberiano gives his opinion stating that this is the best out there right now, iam feeing a bit better about it because of his experience with it, I would love to see this drum on display at guitar centre, or same ash to get my own experience, right now iam getting great sound out of my alesis strike pro, with a blind fold on I could trick anyone to believe, they are listening to an acoustic....

Hey if you like the Roland processed sounds you do you…VST’s are in a whole new level that the run of the mill modules do not compare to. This new Alesis module is next level and has made a fan boy out of me!

@fartpooboxohyeah8611No. I just mean I hate aleshits cheap medeli parts and canned sounds. even the strike module had weird non-present canned sounds as well. It's just a preference thing. I use Toontrack products, can't stand addictive, BFD (the alesis module's included VST in this video) or Steven Slate, they're all non-present and flat sounding compared to the VST leader toontrack products. HOWEVER I do like a lot of the module sounds of many roland products when I'm specifically looking for processed sounds etc. Cheers.

Build quality remains to be seen ,alesis stuff has a horrible track record for breakdowns
@rogerramones17438 ай бұрын
I had a Alesis Nitro Mesh Kit since 2020 the very cheapest and beginner kit, I've played hard and heavy (just like in an acoustic drum) almost every day and nothing is broken until today.
@Toast-ej2lr7 ай бұрын
@@rogerramones1743 What broke? I have a Nitro Max Kit and I rubber mounted the module to protect it. Not a real heavy hitter but I do use Vic Firth Classic Metal nylon tip sticks. Solved the problem of the crap plastic clamps rotating by using 4mm roll pins once I was sure I was happy with position. Not sure how tight to make the mesh heads. I tightened about 1.5 turns after purchasing as I like a lot of rebound. Wondering if I can go tighter?
@Toast-ej2lr7 ай бұрын
@Leftysrpedos They are cheap. But for a first timer they may be the best bet. I have a Nitro Max kit and the rack sucks but can be improved easily with better clamps or securing the OEM clamps better. The pedals suck and the ride cymbal is inconsistent between the cowbell and cymbal sounds. I think Alesis wants the module to fail as it is the only piece that isn't rubber mounted. Think about the electronics shock with every hit. You can either remove it from the rack or rubber mount it like I did with a piece of heater core hose.

I have a Command Mesh 4 years now. Nothing is broken all in perfect working order. Everything can break if you hitting them like crazy, but you might need to learn how to play an electric kit.
