Actually, you can get a sort of guaranteed shiny mew with 6ivs or very close. Emerald's rng is broken and through finding your shiny frame and your 6 iv shiny frame (if you have such a frame) you can get it. Pokefinder will tell you the frame, in general shiny legendaries from emerald are the least suspicious ones. Would it take a lot of time? yes, but probably weeks or days, nothing that's impossible for someone to do.

I actually had someone comment this as well a good while back and it's really interesting to say the least! I will say though with that last comment,even being possible it would take a ton of time to figure out. At that point the person would have to clone it in emerald,send it up through the generations and trade it out. With the mass amounts of 6IV mews that are out there,I'd still say unless you can track the OT down to some creator with authenticity, odds are a traded one you get would still be most likely hacked in.

@@JamTube01232 True, but this was mostly just to show that it can be done reliably and consistently. And you can just do it yourself if you want to. The most time consuming step here is to keep resetting your game until you get a tid and sid that has a decent frame. Or if you're very good at it go with a frame that's pretty far in, technically it shouldn't take you more than a few resets even if it's at the 30 min+ point.

It was only 1 Perfect IV Shiny Mew and the seed was found through hex code. Hex code is still A form of 3rd party. Listen to the guy in this video. A lot of people want to get these rare mon legit. Hence in the price spike. I repeat the only way to get A legit shiny Mew is to buy the OG Japanese cart and the oldsea map distribution cart and inject the ticket beat Elite 4 and then go catch yourself A shiny Mew. 🤗 I was thirsty to get LEGIT MEW so I went the EBay route which can be expensive !!WARNING!!🔥🔥🎈

To be fair you can easily do rng manipulation with any game, not just emerald. And even tho the rng is broken, I kinda feel like it's way easier to get perfect shinies in gen 4 for example.

To get a random traded one still would be nearly impractical though. You'd have to consider the odds that someone went through all the work to set up ACE on their emerald, did everything to get a shiny 6IV Mew, clone it in emerald and send it up through the generations. Emerald is a $150+ game, and then you have to have all the materials to do that,and set up ACE. It's still a big work in progress and most people aren't gonna care about legitimately that much, so I would still really say if someone trades you a 6IV shiny Mew from emerald, unless you've talked with them and confirmed the method, it's most definitely a hacked one.

​@@JamTube01232 I do agree that It can be sus and I would always confront the Person before a trade But setting up ACE to unlock faraway Island Is extremely easy and fast. And once you get the Island RNG manipulations are very easy to achieve Even 6ivs is not very hard because It depends on your TID and SID, but using ACE you can easily change your TID and SID to make It easy. I did It and I got a shiny 6ivs mew in no time Also cloning in Emerald requires basically seconds, so if I gotta be honest shiny mew from faraway Island Is fairly easy to obtain legit, and one of the least sus shiny you can find.

While I do agree it's one of the easiest in theory, it's also the most genned of the methods to get Mew. This is because the only two "non glitched" methods of getting it are from Emerald or GO, that means bots or auto legality mods will go to both of these methods pending on what you request or try to gen in. The scenario makes a difference too, because it's actually harder to gen a 8F Gameboy stamp Mew than to get one from the glitch because no bot or auto legality mod would make one. Even though you can legitimately get one, it's not recognized. when you get an emerald one in trade there's two options: It was from someone who had a $200+ dollar game who knows ACE,RNG,and cloning and decided to do all this to get a 6IV one and is trading them out. For it was hacked in. Given most of the Pokemon community doesn't care about hacking mons in and sees no difference,most people aren't gonna put in that work for a giveaway. Transferring is also super tedious to add to that,and for most of the community who does giveaways, they're just gonna gen them in or use third party software somewhere in-between (gets the Mew legitimately but decided to clone with powersaves or PkHex

Got your video recommended today, someone else mentioned that gen 1 save can be transferred from a legit game cart to the 3ds vc game. I think the same can be done with the gen 2 games so you could possibly transfer the event shiny mew from gold/silver/crystal to home through bank, I’ve not tried transferring my saves to the 3ds vc games as my red save is glitched due to having done the missingno glitch back in the day and my gold/silver save files are lost to the “dead battery syndrome” tho I don’t live in America so didn’t get the shiny mew.

Transferring a save from a GB game to a 3DS VC no longer makes it legitimate, at best, it's legal. Also, the event Mews from GB still can't be transferred through Transporter/Bank since the OT/ID *has* to be "GF" and "22796", which older GB events do not have.

Yeah, getting to lvl 40 (as well as completing Kanto dex) was nightmare. I was lvl 24 or 26 (don´t remember exactly now) when I started, and it took me a full year to do it. Now it is in HOME, and I am not sending him to mainline games, since the POGO stamp is kinda proof of its legality. For funzies I looked at e-bay for what price shiny Mew from GO is sold, and the difference is pretty big. Non-stamped shiny Mew from GO (that has been sent for example to Sword/Shield or Scarlet/Violet) goes for about 10 dollars. Shiny Mew with POGO stamp costs 10 times as much, full 100 dollars.

Only reason is that none of the Pokemon games are cloud save compatible and if something happened to my Switch I would be fucked since its locked in Switch memory. Yep,I've had this method mentioned to me a few times,while yes you can RNG it in,it's still a good bit of work to do that,clone it and transfer it up to trade in the mix of all of the hacked 6IVs,odds are if you're trading it wasn't done by that method.

Except you can have a gen 1 Pokemon legit. Use a gb flash reader to copy your save off then copy it to your 3ds and then xfer through virtual console. It's not straight forward. But it's also totally legit. There is nothing about backing up and xfering save files that breaks any rules. You can also data manipulate to the official trainer ID and name through patiently resetting your game. Then glitch capture one. Look, legit, meets all the criteria.

This would still be legit yes,as it's done completely within game means. It's still a Pokemon GO Mew and if I recall correctly still would say in it's desc that it came from GO despite not having the stamp. That being said, for the purposes of the video being getting one in a trade, this adds extra questioning to whether the Mew is legit. If it comes from GO and has the GO transfer stamp (indicating it never left HOME) you know it's 100%, because as stated in the video realistically most aren't gonna trade the Mew they literally had to pay for upon all the tasks. Having a LGPE mark is more questionable as you can just hack it within that game and send it up just the game as a traded GO Mew with a swsh stamp in home or SV. Possible of course,but SUPER questionable and that's up to the person receiving if they want to keep it.

That's a hard one to answer,as the item will be genned,not the Pokemon itself. I guess it would just depend on the method of distribution,no matter what if you hunt the mew itself legitimately I think that's an accomplishment on its own,and having any method of doing so is hard to do. If you're using a known hacking device like GameShark, then people will question and it'll be debatable, distribution carts are considered more legit ways,as they were used to get the event onto players games back in the day.

@@JamTube01232 what would you say about this distribution in perticular? , the distribution process is done by backing up your cartridge's save file. Once The save file backed up, then a custom tool is used to inject the Wonder Card to your game., the Wonder Card comes from the original distribution run for the event. Once that's done and The new save file is prepared, I inject that save file back into the cartridge, now with the Wonder Card added to the save file. No cheats or action replays are used in any way so would you say that method and that mew is legit?

Again this is a dificult one to answer,as while you're technically using illegit methods to get the item, getting the Pokemon is completely different and it's hard to say 100% what the legality terms would be. I can say though that if you put in the full odds work 100% legit and get the shiny, even with that method it's still a big accomplishment and the shiny itself,at least to most, would be legit. A lot of poketubers have done methods similar to the one you mentioned and their followers claim it's legit, I've been very open about how I got my old sea map (dist cart) and people with no bias claimed it was legit,so I'd say the majority would say your method is fine so long as there's nothing affecting the hunt (odd modifiers, speeding up the game, ect)

But that would be awesome!! I’ve been wondering this for years! It actually all started with the Deoxys aurora ticket! My girlfriend is an eBay seller and has a rom of the original Deoxys aurora ticket distribution, and distributes the aurora ticket for people! In the beginning I told her that that Deoxys is not legit bcuz that event has passed but she told me that Deoxys is 100% real authentic and legit because the rom she uses is the exact rom that’s in the aurora ticket distribution cartridge! So she said that receiving the aurora ticket using this rom now is the same exact thing as receiving it over a decade ago! And I thought about it! She had a very good point! She also said that the gba games has no way of tracking when the aurora ticket and pokemon was received so it is completely legit! So that was my first debate!! Then the second debate came with the method on the Japanese pokemon emerald and the old sea map cartridge!! She says that that mew is 100% legit and authentic bcuz she’s injecting the actual wonder card for the old sea map into a pokemon emerald Japanese cartridge! And in doing so your receiving the actual old sea map from the pokemon center without any cheats or setting off any flags and that’s why you can transfer that mew all the way into pokemon home just fine!! She also said that receiving the old sea map and aurora ticket now is the same exact thing as receiving it decades ago bcuz again the gba games has no way of knowing when the actual ticket was received

Yep, the hackcheck for VC transfer checks to see if the Mew is from an event,so it would need those details + be Lv.5 and over to transfer.

I looked at my hunted shiny Deoxys and Shaymin,and they say the same thing,so that's nothing to worry about!

I would say it's legit. With glitches people get kind of touchy. to me as long as it was done in game and the glitfh isn't patched and it's legit. As for whether it's "legal" (Transfers up and can be used online). It should so long as the Mew has the event OT and ID that correlates to it's virtual console event, which since you followed Austin John im assuming he did that.

The reason I asked is because John Austin said that when turning it shiny at level 7, the stats were to be 20 for all of them but when I used the coin case glitch in silver, they ranged from 19-21. Just wanted to know if it would be a battle legal Mew. Thanks for the reply btw :>

The event Mew from Gen 1 VC had its DVs locked to 15/15/15/15. That means it was shiny locked, so any shiny Mew from Gen 1 VC is illegitimate.

If you transfer a Mew or Celebi from VC they're guaranteed 5IVs so that's no issue. As for the OT,there was a Japanese event with the same ID, you can compare through the serebii event dex to see if it's legit. Hope this helped! :) www.serebii.net/events/dex/151.shtml

Yep! By doing Runaways (encouraging new, running, leaving the area and going back in) you're resetting the frames. My recent hunt for mew was with a dead battery. No issues

Just need the Red version,and a lot of patience😂 Gonna let you know ahead of time,it's basically like recoding your game,and like code one little error makes all the difference. It's super easy to not only crash your game but reset your whole save file so make sure you're careful!

The dv's can never be perfect for a shiny pokemon. The last three stats have to be 10 each

I presume you're referring to my discussion on Mews IVs in the vid? If so I was meaning transferring them up,and what IVs are guaranteed. If I said "perfect" DVs, I may have been meaning the exact ones to get a shiny and worded it wrong, I made this video a good while ago and have forgotten some of what I said😅

I'm not 100% how IVs work on GO. From personal experience (Getting reg pkmn from trades that originate from GO and collecting GO legendaries for giveaways) that they usually never have decent IVs. Also the GO shiny mew was pretty exclusive,so factoring that in. I heavily doubt that someone would go through the effort on GO, miraculously get it 6IVs,and just trade it off. Also there's tons of giveaway ones that were sent out that were 6IV.

I have a couple of shiny mews I got in trades that didn't appear to be obvious hacks. One shiny mew is Japanese. In a pokeball. Came from Johto. Fateful encounter. No ribbons. 2021. ID is 22796. Shiny. Is it legit? I also have a cherish ball shiny mew. French. Fateful encounter. Hoenn region. 2016. ID is 14249. No ribbons. I believe you said there has never been a cherish ball shiny mew event. So I'm doubtful of this one. Which one should I keep? I want to use the other for trade.

The cherish ball one is 100% hacked,as for the Johto one,the ID makes me believe it's glitched from the Virtual Console. Does it have the Gameboy Icon?

Can you do one for victini? I got a shiny victini in a trade and it was the trainers victini. It has their ot name. Their id number. Cherish ball. Classic ribbon. Met in the kalos region by a fateful encounter. It seems like it could be legitimate but I'm unsure.

I can definitely do a KYL on Victini! I will let you know now though that Victini is shiny locked, meaning it's never been officially released as a shiny,so yours would be hacked regardless of the other factors.

So you say far away mew isn't ligit? And thats because you are actually manipulating the code of the game? What makes this different from the rby mew? I swear that sounds antagonistic when it's not. Also how do you feel about the shiny ditto you get from red garidose in gen1 x gen2?

Because manipulation of the game from a GameShark isn't the game as a glitch that TPCI intentionally left in. For me,all glitches so long as they're not patched, are fair game. As for the ditto glitch, it's a glitch left in the game so I see that as legit.

As someone who uses PkHex,the legality check isn't exactly the best thing to use to text whether something is legit,it's simply a legal test of whether it meets general requirements Not only does it check for certain variables and leaves out many other forms of data a legit Pokemon would have,but also doesn't fully get legit Pokemon right. I have bred Rowlets that get flagged. Considering VC shiny mew is a glitch only Pokemon it makes sense PkHex wouldn't check it off as legit

Good video, I think people misunderstand the term "legit" in a Pokemon game. If someone uses a glitch, hack, ROM, virtual console, 3rd party websites or otherwise to obtain a Pokemon...it isn't real. If they receive it in a gift from current games or newer events that re-release Mew, it's not the same. It's a remake to make it easier to fill out your Dex and avoid transfer headaches. Unless shiny Mews in NA/USA region come from Faraway Island, they arent legit. I still have my Old Sea map item from my 2005 Emerald and shiny hunted Mew myself. Transferring isn't hard now due to Pokemon Bank but back in the day it was lol.

Everyone has different views of legit,but for me it's anything done within the games means. In terms of the 8F glitch, Game freak intentionally left that in the game when they put it up on the virtual console. At that point I consider it completely fair game,as there's no third party software involved.

There's no way to get a shiny mew in a cherish ball,as it's never been released as a mystery gift. Legit mew also wouldn't be possible to be WTed because of the ribbon the event would have. You'd have to hack one without it.

When did I say RNG manipulation isn't legit? Lol yeah to me both Glitching and RNG is legal because it's not altering the game. If you're referring to RNGing a 6 IV shiny mew, it's just a matter of common sense when trading. What are the odds that someone put in the effort to do that,sent it up,and is trading it out against the odds the 6IV Mew you're getting is hacked. Not good odds, 8F is a more modern method and Is something that is actually more difficult to modern hack. If you have PkHex yes,but for the majority using bots one won't naturally make one native from the GB games. It's also funny you state one is possible but one isn't,so basically you consider RNG legit but Glitching not,which is ironic considering that in order to find your SID, a third party device is required. It's not data you're supposed to know. Glitching is all done in the game, that and as I literally stated in the video GF chose to keep that glitch in,so that at point how is it against any rules? People have to hack/glitch in order to even get the Faraway island Mew,so do you consider that legit then?

Also,you can in theory get the same trainer ID as the Mew event,and name yourself GF, statistically improbable? Of course,so is the chance of rolling the 1/32^6 chance of a 6IV Mew from faraway island, on top of the chance of being shiny AND not being done by a glitch which to you is hacking. Idk how in the modern day your logic adds up but alright lol.
