Actually, the thoroughbred brindle that I stole from a gang who tried to take me down maxes out at 10 speed. Health and stamina isn't great, but there are tonics for that. It's a bulldozer in rough terrain, and I prefer it over the Fox trotter now. Not too happy about snakes though.

You can get the brown one in the mission where you steal the braithwaite horses. You just keep feeding it until you get a bond with the horse right before you deliver them

Great Video, my favorite of them is actually the Black Stallion American Standard bred. It’s probably the most beautiful horse in the game, and they’re quick, bond faster than any other breed and will let you shoot a panther, bear, or pack of wolves without bucking you. Just like all others though they don’t care for snakes but won’t run and will run off from the gators when too close, Andelusian would be my second choice for multi purpose horse.

I found the white Arabian while exploring the map, so I tamed her and named her Diamond. One of my favourites. I could have tamed the warped brindle Arabian if I wanted to, as I randomly found it when going to see the Reservation for the first time. I knew about the white Arabian but not this one. And apparently the Thoroughbred is somewhat rare. I tamed a dapple grey stallion recently. Been wanting a Thoroughbred for a while, ocassionaly seen wild ones appear. Was also happy to get a stallion because I keep on getting mares, and while I'm all for my girls, I also like the variation. At least with the mares I won't have to see the balls lmao.

My favourite is Shire. I know it's not the fastest one, but is so large and beautiful for sure. Once I think I need exactly this breed, and didn't found where I can buy one. Then, some poor fella calmly riding on his wagon with two of Shires. Of course, I politely asked him to give me one of them, and he was beyond joyful to agree. One of horses was totally black, and the other was white with black spots. I took last one. But when I gave her cleaning spots immediately disappeared, and she turns out glossy and shiny white. I named her Перлинка (Perlynka) - pearl in Ukrainian.

My favorite horse in the game has been the brindle thoroughbred. Got him from a bounty hunter before he despawned. Same stats as the old veterans horse maybe a lil faster and he doesnt buck you off which is great.

Don't know why people think the Arabian horses are the best. They spook so easily and are always jumpy. You want a calm horse that doesn't buck you off when a cougar/gator/bear/wolf growls at you or during a shoot out. I'm experimenting with a beautiful Hungarian halfbred that I caught in Big Valley. My first play through i came across a random guy in the desert outside of valentine early on that had a blue roan nokota. Never saw one before so i shot him and took his horse. Used that for probably 75% of the game. My current play through im only in ch.2 and im really diggin the ardennes. I never had one the first time through. In my first playthrough, I went for the White Arabian since it is one of the best horses to get in the game. Though, I ended up getting spoiled for the ending of the game and ended up putting it down for some time. I decided to restart and play through the game again but this time, I am avoiding getting the White Arabian because it's the only one in the game and if you get it early while playing as Arthur, then it will ultimately be shot/killed in a scripted scene in the late game. And even if you don't use it for that mission, from what I have heard is none of the horses you have in your stable as Arthur carry over once you play as John for the post-game so they are just gone. So, I figured I'd save some of the really rare/good horses until the end of the game so I can still use them as John.

I stole a Brindle Thoroughbred from someone and wow. I highly recommend to learn what it looks like and get one. Almost the same stats as Fox Trotter and it's a much taller horse. It is super fast.

I'm using a brown massive Shire from a mission which we go burn Braithwaits' tobacco fields. In that mission you take 2 horses and I kept it as my main horse. It looks great definitely a gentle giant.

You can get the Missouri Foxtrotter without sniping a woman. In the Sidequest Arkadia for Beginner, when you skip the end cinematic and ride fast after the passing Horses you can catch and tame him. But only if you jump on his Back, with Lasso is not possible (so I get mine at the 5th attempt)

The Red Chestnut is the most prettiest of them all. But not worth the stall room when the black and white is faster. I personally use Turkumans, they are pretty fast and have alot of health(10) And you don't get bucked off that easily

Am I the only one who actually loves the Palomino Morgan you get at the start of Act 2 before going on a bear hint with Hosea? I’ve have quite a few play-throughs and its actually a very decent horse thats very agile and very easy to bond with, and actually quite fast. I think everyone gets rid of it straightaway because of the stats but stats can be very misleading.

Speed and acceleration, yes I give that to the race horses. But if I want nimble handling especially through towns, woodlands, and when you are shooting while running circles around pursuers, the humble morgan takes the cake.

In my latest playthrough I’m really enjoying the Strawberry Roan Ardennes from the crashed wagon near Flatneck Station, took an endless amount of reloaded saves for it to finally spawn alive but worth the effort for a really good looking and brave horse👌

You can get it as early as chapter 2, so 1st make sure you haven’t ‘interacted’ or triggered the crashed wagon with the drunk guy asking you to watch it for him and go to the trapper near Riggs station and save your game coz more than likely it’s gonna take you a few reloads to get this horse, ride down to the train tracks leave your horse off it incase a train is coming, use wither a bow with small game arrows or a varmint rifle to shoot and wound not kill an npc riding the path beneath the tracks and wait for him to start shooting at you, keep your weapon aimed at the cliff straight north of you where the encounter spawns and eventually it will spawn with a live Ardennes so when it does drink a health tonic or miracle tonic and run to where you can jump off you will survive the fall because of the tonic but very important is keep the camera facing the horse so it doesn’t despawn run over to it and get on then ice the guy who was shooting at you incase he kills you or the horse and rode to the stables outside strawberry saddle up and you’re good👍
