Hi Meg, I’m only 8 mins into your vlog and WOW! So very honest and open. I suffer with chronic pain in my back and was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease. I started in 2008 and couldn’t cope with the pain. After my doctor said ‘what do you want me to do,’ as I sat in his office crying I drove to my local hospital and crawled along the corridor begging for help. It sounds dramatic and ridiculous but by this time I was having a breakdown. I did get some help following this but it took over a year to bring the pain to a manageable level. I have pain everyday but it’s become part of who I am and even with strong pain killers it never goes away. I’m 60 this year and sympathise with anyone who suffers in this way especially someone so young. That aside, my friend had/has endometriosis and it was a challenging conceiving but 4 years ago she had twins after several IVF attempts. I really appreciate your honesty and transparency when it comes to pain and I will definitely be watching your other channel x Thankyou and God Bless you x

Hi thank you so much! I’m so sorry you went through that and still struggle with pain. It’s something that people just don’t understand until they go through it and how awful it is going through each day like that. I finally found a good surgeon and had my third surgery 2 weeks ago so hoping this helps now that it was 100% removed and praying it doesn’t grow back. I’m glad your pain is more manageable now!

Bunny does the same thing with the kind of open interpretation of it, but no pain rep. So you might not enjoy that one. I would say bunny is even more over the top in its absurdity. But now you understand Awad’s specific kind of weird. Lol. It’s not for everyone. But I’m really glad you read Alls Well! I Stan Mona Awad so hard. Her writing and the way her simile and metaphor just perfectly paints a picture in your head is such a vibe.

There's a reason i searched for a review video from someone who understands chronic pain 💙 i just finished this book and i personally loved it. I would be unendingly annoyed if i listened to a review from someone who doesn't get it saying Miranda is just whiney and exhausting etc. She is so relatable, IF you get it. And i think part of what's interesting is how mean & vindictive she can be but also if you relate, how easy it is to understand & forgive her vindictiveness. I wanted to hurt Mark the same way she wanted to. I hated Mark! And it made me angry the way Paul & Grace & everyone else treated her when they got sick of dealing with her pain. So all of that was amazing! I don't understand the ending either though, lol. And I've read that Bunny in the end was actually schizophrenia, so i was worried that in the end of this book it would be like, it was all in her head all along. And if that's what it was supposed to mean then i would hate this book. But i really can't tell what it's supposed to mean at the end lol. Great representation of chronic pain and medical gaslighting though! Depending on what the end means at least, haha. I THINK it's a happy ending..i think the 3 men were going to give her the pain back because of how she tried to save Grace during the weird trippy solo play, she chose to go to Grace over taking the life she lost because of her pain (Paul and the baby). I think that's why the men called the play anti climactic and i think they were talking about her trippy play not the one the kids performed. So, i think because of that, or maybe it was always the plan, they were going to give her pain back, BUT it turns out Ellie really does have magical powers and the last bath sachet she gave Miranda is what saved her from the pain returning. And Ellie also fixed Brianna during the play. So despite Miranda doubting Ellie, she had real power that protected Brianna and Miranda. But when did Grace get fixed? Was it when Miranda chose to go to Grace rather than stay with her baby and Paul? Were the men not actually disappointed with the play they just let her choose whether to keep her pain or pass it on to Grace permanently? Idk, i haven't had much time to think about it and this comment is all over the place lol, i just finished the audiobook and I'm at work typing this out fast. But i wanted to comment something real quick and also say thanks for making this video! I really enjoyed your thoughts on this book and learning more about Endo. I didn't know that hysterectomies don't help!

Hi thanks so much! The book is very fuzzy to me since it’s been a while I made this video so I don’t have any formal thoughts other than it just didn’t 100% make sense to me 😂 however Mona Awad suffered with chronic pain and therefore leads me to believe it is not some kind of cryptic ending that is in her head. I don’t think she would do that given the extremely accurate rep. So let’s just go with a happy ending? 😂 but yeah I was not a fan of all the reviews of this book from people who “didn’t get it” (the pain rep) so I’m glad I could give my two sense as someone with chronic pain ☺️

@@ReadingWithMeg it definitely makes sense that she's struggled with chronic pain! I agree, with the representation being so spot on it's hard to believe she would end it with it all being in Miranda's head. Maybe I'd understand it better if I read the all's well play. But yeah, for now I'm good with just believing it was a happy ending with no one in pain and Ellie being a witch 😁 lol thanks for your reply!
