Also quite interesting is the Darklife Anthology on their bandcamp, which you can also see some of the early ideas that they melded together to make the final tracks, or work in progress versions using different samples or had different bits, it's real neat!

it’s honestly very disappointing how much of this is sampled. i thought i was hearing someone genuinely make music on some old-ass icy synth presets, but all my favorite moments sound so on point precisely because of the fact that they were just taken from the past
