Though i like the increased ranged talent over mindgames (great change). I wish they did this instead in its place: "Add additional charge to shadow crash and increase its range to 10yards but increases the cd by 50%." (aka, makes shadow crash the same size as other aoe placement talents (DnD, Conc, RoF, blizzard, etc..), gives 2 charges of shadow crash but increases the cd to 30sec per charge. This would be a great quality of life for shadow and make it less punishing when playing with tanks that don't understand other classes (aka moving targets out of dps aoe). This i believe is also the most requested changes I've seen from the shadow priest community (aka listening to the players). Please Like if u agree, or comment if u think differently.

I have reported a talent node for not working a few times since DF beta but it is still not fixed. The node that grant passive leech instead of vamp embrace is affected by diminishing returns, it the only passive leech of any class that is affected by diminishing returns

Priests are not ready for release because they haven't received any updates at all. Mages have received a complete tree overhaul and 10+ rounds of updates while I can count on my hand how many changes Priests have received.

I started really playing the spec back in legion and haven't dropped it since. It's very jarring to think of how much it's changed since then. I've got a lot of issues with the spec rn but I'm still mostly disappointed they gave up on the idea of an aoe spender and instead doubled down on PL. I don't think the sl spamming searing nightmares was exactly fun but they could have tried so many other things. Feels like that's really forced us into a more niche DPS profile which has been clearly difficult for blizzard to balance in df. It also feels like it really hard caps our ST damage at a much lower point than other classes because of how out of hand our AOE can get. Always love the videos publik! Thanks for all the work you put into the shadow priest community :)

Shadow Crash nodes need trimming, it's insane to have it split up when we wouldn't use Shadow Crash if it didn't DoT enemies. I'd also love to have Shadow Crash uncapped for DoTing since that's how we do our damage in AoE. Also wish we kept Mindgames because I love the animation and wish it was better incorporated into our kit (maybe the affected target could spawn its own apparitions that float towards enemies). Beyond that, I wish our capstones had more visual flair - primarily Idol of Yshaarj and Idol of Yogg-Saron. Yshaarj's idol has no animation and is just a passive buff and Yogg-Saron's Thing from Beyond just awkwardly spawns in then leaves the same way. It'd be nice if it came through a void portal or some flashy animation like warlock's Blasphemy to make it feel more rewarding. It'd also be cool to be able to customize what it looked like.

I absolutely HATE the current look of shadowform, its so smokey and gross looking. I don't understand how it ever got released in game. It also really makes me angry that it doesn't just auto apply to mounts anymore so I can't glyph it like I could in the past. (Unless something changes)

Or at least just some changes to some of our abilities to give them more of a shadowy feel. Levitate and PI for example. They already added a bunch of icons for shadow versions of existing priest spells, PI was one of them, so i'm a bit sad we havn't seen any spell animation changes yet to make use of it.

As a classic player since it released i was looking for some return to more familiarity with the older xpacs. Not saying vanilla, but when i have come back for shadowlands and dragonflight it just hasnt felt conmected to the older style. Probably just me, but i get a vibe that reminds more of the old days from this new build for WW. Probably just crazy.

Great video, for an average player is it a big dps loss to take mind flay over mind spike? I saw your video where you explain that taking mind melt which increases crit chance of mind blast/void blast (void blast damage was nerfed recently) can be gamed to get more dps. But for simplicity's sake would taking mind flay be non-competitive?

As of current tuning it is about a 0.5% DPS loss to go from Mind Spike to Mind Flay, so nothing too crazy.

Shadow gameplay is actually fine, class tree as well after the removal of mindgames. What I’d like to see is some iteration on our spec tree, the top part lacks optionality, the middle part has a lot of filler talents, the lower part is mostly fine ( pls change Y’Sharj XD ). Overall I get why we weren’t high priority, considering the had to fix oracle and some other specs needing god, maybe we’ll get some attention later on !

Enjoyed the vid - gonna just continue to point out that pre-dragon flight Blizz admitted that DA fails nearly all of their design goals for a damage cooldown and is going to be unimaginably better than VE with voidweaver, especially in single target, simply due to numbers tuning and the emphasis that voidweaver places on mind blast, which is non-periodic. I’m just afraid that they will sleep-walk through another expansion with this flavorless non-ability being meta for most of the xpac without doing the rework they promised. Either make it a real ability by adding gameplay implications to DA not just a boring damage amp, make void form have some interaction with void weaver, which as Publik pointed out makes sense from a lore/theme perspective, or remove DA and make the angel wing appearance a cosmetic glyph or something. Just a little concerned as time is running out.

Hmm what did i want to see from spriest in warwithin? I like how they are making alot of classes in beta have passive effects tied to actual spells. Like hunters dont have serpent sting, its baked into aimed shot. Maybe instead of moving mindgames to pvp, it gets cast with void torrent or something. I still think yogg saron talent is my favorite for spriest. Maybe they could do more with it. After so many casts that the thing from beyond does, you gain dark acension or void form. Maybe the nzoth node applies devouring plague for a few seconds, or refreshes the duration when its stacks collapse.

On the wishlist for me: either make mind blast procs castable while channeling/casting other spells like fire blast for mage or give us back temporary charge on proc rather than making us fight the gcd to not munch mind blasts. 😂

Shadow will continue to be in a bad spot until Blizz addresses the fact that priest needs 2 separate dps specs void is a completely different playstyle than shadow was originally. It’s 2 different specs smashed into 1. You have to identify the problem before you can fix it.

what i hoped for was a rework to Y'shaarj talent and the removal of inescapable torment, i hated that leggy with a passion in SL and i still hate it to this day but seeing that we now got a "new" shadofiend i don't see that happening anytime soon

If you are hoping for changes. We are going have to wait and hope for 11.5 patch for any priest changes. And it's not just shadow, all 3 specs need work especially the class tree. Such as, if they took out mindgames, replace it with cascade. The node under could be apply your dots and it could bounce between closest and farthest that was you have dots rolling as stuff is getting pulled. I was hard upset when archon came out. I was expecting shadow to start doing twilight damage and mind flay turning into holy flay or something and youre just blasting out all this holy and shadow damage. Blizzard is fairly disappointing

I think probably the biggest thing I'd be asking for now that we are getting targeted shadow crash would be that Mind Spike becomes a choice node with Mind Flay rather than a tax you play for a smoother playstyle. I know many high end shadowpriests prefer Flay, but I certainly prefer Spike because I strongly dislike channeling filler. I see all the calls to just get spike removed, and one day I am afraid they might listen. If they just made flay/spike a choice node, nobody has to lose. Both flay and spike players are happy, and nobody needs both spike and flay.

They'll do anything but give Shadow Crash 2 charges. Constantly running Brackenhide Hollow and the Lashers spawn or that bicboi first pull in AA, I really wished they just gave us 2 charges just for the QoL. TBH I tried out Elemental Shaman, Flame shock spread is still horrific, lol.

I hope they give SI temporary charge and not cd reset, MFI should be 1.5 sec baseline, 2pointers also should be looking at, the only class with 8 2pointers is priest (and enh shammy lol), light's inspiration in class tree is need to swap positions with unwavering will, and for love of god give us dipsersion or silence basline. And it would be nice if they change their minds around reverse lifegrip :'(

Was in beta today and "Voidcrash" (Shadowcrash on Target) doesn't do anything on the crash test dummys. No dots and no damage. Buggy? With every update I wish there would be a shorter CD on Silence and that it would end up in the Priesttree. The old place of Mindgames e.g. One of this 3 Spots. :) Would be better then what we this time.

Can you explain to me why for 6 weeks in a row, spriest has been nerfed. If you look at raid logs from testing. They are literally at the bottom for DPS on almost every fight. So I cannot for the life of me understand how we have gotten nerfed every single beta patch for the last 6 weeks.

So tuning is still ongoing, my best guess is that they are trying to get the relative balance of our spells in a healthy spot (i.e. making sure the % gained from Voidweaver is where they want it to be) and then when they do season 1 tuning they can just buff the entire spec modifier up to where it needs to be.

Yeah I mean they really should get rid of Mind Spike at this point. Or add more too it, just misses the mark for me. Luckily in recent tests Mind Spike builds are only 0.4% ahead of Mind Flay builds for Voidweaver so not really a big loss to run flay

@Publikwow that's great to hear! Sub 1% is always something I'm willing to sacrifice without batting an eye. Maybe they could just make both a choice node so we can choose if one likes a cast more than a channel, if both tuned equally. Or they could make Mind Spike visually as interesting as Flay, so that it at least looks cool ^^

Is there some viability to run screams of the void in any PvE scenario? My favorite talent, I love using it with Mind Devourer and Mind's Eye. With Inner Quietus this could make DoTs build more prominent when taken with other talents like Dark Evangelism and Maddening Touch. I personally love those talents cause I'm main pvp. Btw do you play hearthstone? I was expecting them to flush out some parts of our spec tree, it feels outdated. That Silence in there, hm, priest is the only healing class without a silence. Those Shadow Apparitions talents barely saw use outside tiersets, why not merge them into one single talent. Also shadow priest is the only DoT class that can't apply all dots through a single skill, I kinda miss Damnation. Another thing that really bothers me is Tormented Spirits and Ancient Madness. We are so invested in Haste and Mastery that those talents feel extremely out of place. AM doesn't synergize well with VE, kinda disincentivizing you from wanting to stay longer in it. You also need SotV to "make the most" of tormented spirits, kinda locking you out to the right side of the tree. There are lots of talents in our tree that don't synergize too well, locking us in one side in detriment to your other. I wish they'd change that, but it's getting late and xpac is almost less than a month to releasing...

Screams is kind of in an awkward spot in that Deathspeaker and Auspicious Spirits are not either particularly good right now, and Idol of N'zoth is the weakest of the 4 idols. Makes it a touch choice to path through for that reason but will likely still see play in AoE or dungeon scenarios.

I would love them to stop nerfing the new black hole thingy just to push Archon gameplay. Shadow crash not having a travel time and the DoT aspect of it being uncaped cause shadow priest is the only DoT class that doesn't have instant doting and has to cast.

I had hope for a good rework. I know it is a meme that blizz is reworking shadow every expansion, but their rework in 10.1 hit the spec so bad imo. Our aoe is either broken or super underwhelming if they want to balance it like at the start of 10.2. And there is no difference between aoe and st rotation and it is making the spec so boring. Kinda every range dps got a mini or a whole rework like mages and warlocks. And they are super fun to play outside of great performances. So shadow is not only boring but outdated. With having the 2 defensive telent, 2 interrupt talent, and 6 2point node in the spec tree. I hope blizz have plans for us in 11.1. Maybe bringing back old void form?!

Happy they removed mindgames. Spriest has too many buttons to press, rotation is absolute mess in DF. Hopefully one day we'll get rid of shadow crash as well.

I really really really hate dark archangel, I wish they remove it and make voidform better, while making it more interactive with talents, removing all the mind spike talents for something voidform related would be so much better for the spec in my opinion, while making it less complicated. I genuinely don’t understand why shadow its the only spec with 2 completely different cds, and 2 completely different filler abilities.
