Playthrough Rules:
1. Only my selected pokemon in battle
2. No items in battle
3. No glitches or exploits (the badge boost and marowak skip permitted)
4. No Losing of ANY Kind (No Blackout Training)
5. No Double-Team TM before level 100*
Other Things to Know:
1. Pokeballs (HM Pokemon) are allowed in battle
2. I play the game at 4x game speed (238 frames per second)
3. My Pokemon have perfect DVs
4. Skipping the bike is not allowed
5. Saving between Elite 4 members is allowed
6. If the solo Pokemon faints and I choose to blackout it counts towards my reset counter and I still have to reset
Terms:
1. STAB
--- Same Type Attack Bonus - a 1.5x damage multiplier for using a move that shares it's type with the attacker
2. DVs
--- The Gen1 equivalent of IVs (individual values), these range from 0-15
3. Stat XP
--- The Gen1 equivalent of EVs. But unlike EVs, you can reach the limit with every stat

One thing some may or may not remember: Pokémon will receive double damage from Earthquake if they use Dig and are underground when Earthquake hits. This only factors so much into the Bruno fight since most of the damage comes from Mach Punch and Cross Chop instead of a weak Dig, but it's something to keep in mind. And for those wondering, this is a strat that I learned from Earl's Classroom in Pokémon Stadium 2.

I totally forgot about this, I only really considered this gen 3 and later. Sometimes it's difficult to remember what generations things get added. Like you can hit a pokemon underground with swift in gen 1.

Nicely done! Tyranitar was always on my team in gen 2. I remember grinning for so long pupitar, so it could shard Red's team. 😄 Tyranitar as physical attacker is really good, and it's moveset are really what made most of the early to mid game really easy for it. 🤔 But having that 4 times weakness to fighting moves could have made bruno a living nightmare, if he wasn't fighting like he usually does😂. Also, physical attacker in gen 2 really loves return and curse rest and sleep talk, so basically Red is getting really trivial with these moves. But still it's better then protect and toxic. ☺️ Keep up the good work, your voice over was and the story telling is really on point, I think that you've finally found your style of narration. 👏👏👏Well done!

I remember the first time I played Gold, my first game, I saw his name was ??? and when asked what his name was, I said out loud, "why is his name 3 question marks?" and put that as his name.

That's what I did too, I don't think gamefreak intended to think that kids would react to the name and then consider the question a memory challenge.

I'm sure you know by now, but Chuck, Jasmine, and Pryce can be battled in any order you want (after beating the Rocket Hideout), and is a big reason why people don't like Gen 2 that much, especially since Pryce's pokemon are at a lower lever than Jasmine's and many people fight Pryce last of these three Gym Leaders. Saving Chuck for last with Tyranitar allows it to get a good time when you're speedrunning this game. I also am not using a calculation, but Machamp would OHKO Tyranitar with full Hp because of the 4X weakness to Cross Chop and it being 100 base power.

That truly is one of the problems with doing a run only once, you just think the strategy or the raw power of the pokemon can get it through just 1 hard battle. I agree going east instead of west and doing the rocket plotline would have been the right way to go. Without fly, I could just make sure to save a bit of time by trying not to heal in mahogany and therefore being able to teleport back quickly after the rockets are beat. Normally I'd worry about pp, but thanks to the lance heal, it's not so bad.
