ORIGINAL INFO: The comic that teaches us that true romance is making out after setting people on fire.
RUMINATIONS: It’s continually amazing how decompressed this story is, even by decompressed storytelling standards. It’s been seven issues and yet barely any time seems to have passed… if it has at all. Maybe a day? Two days? It’s hard to say, since the book requires a flow chart with its constant repetitions of “five hours ago” or the like. It really feels like no editing was done on it at all, but I’m beginning to suspect that Frank’s editor DOESN’T want to edit it, that they like his work exactly as it is despite all the glaring flaws in character, dialogue, and just general storytelling. This issue in particular became infamous due to Crazy Steve suddenly deciding to have sex with Black Canary in the rain for seemingly no reason. Much like Scott Ciencin’s Silent Hill comics, I’d be curious what the hell Frank was trying to ACHIEVE with this crap, what the meaning behind some of it was… but I just fear he DOESN’T have any meaning. He does stuff because he wants to, not because it actually makes any sense.
