ORIGINAL INFO: Secret Origins Month 2011 begins with the origin story of Wonder Woman, wherein she wears ridiculous clothes, doesn’t know her own history, and falls in love with the first guy she’s ever met.
RUMINATIONS: It was probably a mistake to do another storyline right after the Entity plot had finished AND when I had my first missed week of the show, but I really had to.
So for those of you coming in late, the Entity storyline’s conclusion kept me working far longer than I had originally planned. And the thing is that I also go to conventions, which means during those times there’s a good chunk of time where I’m not actively writing/editing because I’m meeting fans, doing panels and live shows, selling stuff, etc. But Youmacon 2011 was that weekend and while these days I’ve gotten PRETTY good at making an episode in three days if I need to (assuming I’m not sick or something), back then it was still a struggle. I would’ve done my damndest to make sure it happened back then, buuut then I spent all of Halloween editing the Entity finale and I just didn’t have it in me.
In the six years I’ve done this show weekly (not counting when I first started out and didn’t really have a set schedule), I’ve only missed the Monday deadline twice… maybe three times, can’t remember… but this was the first time I had ever missed it and I felt pretty bad about it. As such, I decided I needed to make it up to the fans, thus I managed to put together a double feature the following week. I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody, but there you go.
I’ll get into the storyline stuff in the next episode, but the outfit seen here is kind of a preview of the travel outfit I would end up wearing for the Gunslinger arc. I’ve always loved how cosplayers of a particular character had a plethora of available clothing options if the actual character had more than one defined look and while I prefer my show have my own distinct “uniform” so to speak, I wanted to give some variations to give cosplayers a chance to try some new looks.
