Definitely recommend you give one of the several localized into English SRW games a shot. I've played four of them myself, V, X, T, and 30. All legally able to play in English, though 30's the only one with an official US release outside of the OG games released on GBA back in the day.
@YukiYuki36012 күн бұрын
I recommend "Another Century's Episode" series(1〜3)' OPs too. It's made by SRW staffs and Fromsoftware. Thanks for reacting robot stuffs!

Super Robot Wars game tends to have a few original characters as the main protagonists that we follow. The OG series brings all those original characters into one world, so the OG series is essentially a crossover series of its own games.

Nice. I heard the OG series has a lot more money put into the development

@@WeAINTseenITREACTIONS The red robot in the SRW OG The Inspectors op1, the "Alteisen", weapon is a pile driver, which in the second op is upgraded to the "Alteisen Riese" which has an even bigger pile driver. The "Alteisen Riese" is so heavy that the flight drive system it has is dedicated to keeping the "Alteisen Riese" able to hover on the ground.

@@KnightManCross It's actually dedicated to keeping the Riese upright. Imagine being so unbalanced and heavy that a flight system is the only thing that keeps you standing straight.

@@WeAINTseenITREACTIONS Probably not, but OGs doesn't need to pay licensing fees, and often have a lot less units, so it kinda feels like they focused on a higher production value in terms of quality per unit, and don't have to worry about units being completely different sizes.

yes Super Robot Wars included "non-robot" playable characters that includes Cowboy Bebop, Space Battleship Yamato, Captain Harlock, Netflix Ultraman, Devilman, Godzilla, and Super Sentai which is live-action, not anime, and sometimes Kamen Rider too.

Yeah, you can play V, X, T, and 30 in English. 30 officially in the US via Steam, and V, X, and T are all on Switch, which is region-free if you want to import physical English copies.
@XenobearsКүн бұрын
If only you could get the DLC without having to create an alternate country profile on Switch 😢 the Steam version of 30 is a great buy since it lets you get all of the DLC.
@ChaosKnight836Күн бұрын
@@Xenobears Yeah, it sucks, but it's not too hard on Switch, as you don't have to give an address for it. I suck at such things, and even I only took what, 15-20 minutes to make an account for China? Mostly because I had to translate a few lines, but otherwise. Only thing is, you need the corresponding currency for the shop. Though that was the easiest part, just bought some off PlayAsia and presto, there we go. got all three games of the VTX trilogy imported AND all DLCs from the chinese nintendo shop.

Yea, MADs are pretty much AMVs (stands for music anime douga - douga meaning video) OG3 (aka Moon Dweller), V, X, and T have English language releases for Asia territories, while 30 is actually released in the West. OG 1 and 2 for GBA as well as OG Saga: Endless Frontier on DS got Western releases

GaoGaiGar is a prominent robot in SRW 30, but the plot comes from the web novel(adapted to a manga) that is a sequel to GaoGaiGar Final, which is a sequel to the original GaoGaiGar. So I would suggest watching the original GaoGaiGar first. I love GaoGaiGar, in my mind it encapsulates everything about a Super Robot anime.

Oh, and one more thing about SRW that you should know about: There tends to be a bit of a fanfiction sort of aspect to the stories in the games, one of which are unlockable secrets. For example, most games with G Gundam will let you save and recruit Master Asia if you meet some requirements throughout the game.

3:20 to answer your question: that’s a VF-1S Valkyrie from Macross (or a Veritech from Robotech if you watched the Harmony Gold dub of the series). It’s a transformable fighter with robot (Battloid), fighter, and halfway (Guardian/Gerwalk) modes. The paint job on that one looks like Skull Leader, which would mean that it’s either Rick Hunter or Roy Fokker piloting (I forget the Japanese names).

So there's a long history with the publishing company that would localize the SRW games let's just say they were assholes and were a very shady company, they finally lost the rights to the SRW license and the first SRW to come to the west in a long time is SRW 30 the newest game you can buy it right now on any platform, also on a another note a lot of SRW games are actually translated you just have to import them from Amazon or ebay

Typically SRW MAD videos use in-game animation plus that game's opening theme. Most of the SRW game themes are sung by JAM Project, a group of individually famous japanese artists (some of which youve heard in past anime like Mazinger Z and Dragonball). Theyre pretty synonymous with SRW at this point. SKILL (Alpha 2), VICTORY (MX), GONG (Alpha 3), and MAXON (one of the 5 SRW anime opemings) are all JAM Project.

At this point In history, it's harder to make a mainstream Mecha show that HASN'T been in SRW in some capacity. Though many won't count mobile entries as "real debuts". Your boy Escaflowne has been in SRW but in an untranslated game on the Wonderswan Color, so it's double-trapped in Japan. But I have written a plot translation guide for Compact 3, that's out there on gamefaqs
