I used to keep AT for on road and mild off road and MT for strictly off road use but with today's modern MT tires, I don't have to keep two different sets anymore. My Yokohama MT G003 handle predictably on road with minimal noise and balance requirements yet do brilliant off roads in mixed terrains and rocks.

@@richardpowell1389 worst tires ive ever run. I’ve lost grip in rain all the time and wouldn’t even let my wife drive my truck when it was raining. I have them a few tries too. I had the original KO’s that I loved, then had a c load range that lasted me only 28,000 miles before they were completely bald. Then I gave them another try with the e load rating and although they lasted longer, they still were the worst in any rain/snow that I’ve ever had.

Got two sets of tires for my Taco TRD 4X4, one original Goodyear tires OEM stock for normal everyday commute. Then a set of BFG KO2 for off road and winter use. With some practice its quick to change over tires.

This is the way to do it. I can't stand people buying off road tires and then complaining about road noise. It's like buying a sport bike, and then complaining that it goes fast. Or like dating a hot girl and then complaining that she gets a lot of attention from guys. Seriously, STFU. If you're doing light off-roading, you can do just fine with load E highway tires. Most of these poser pavement princesses have super aggressive tires, but then take their trucks to the car wash every week so it can sparkle in the sun like an emo vampire. Heaven forbid their truck have a little dirt on it. Use the tires for what they're meant for and stop bitching about road noise. If road noise bothers you, then pick up some rims from the junk yard and keep a set of off-road tires for when you go off-road ing, but run highways the rest of the time.

I"m currently rocking Cooper Evolution MT's. They're awesome offroad, but they're pretty loud. I'm definitely switching to AT's next time. I love the look and the performance, but my car spends 95% of the time on streets or freeways. I also noticed last year in Big Bear that my MT's really don't handle ICE very well. Great in the dirt, but lacking in extreme winter conditions.

👍👍👍👍 Not all All Terrains tire brands have a milage warranty, this time I'm going with Toyo A/T3 LT 50,000. I live in the San Bernardino Mountains and sometimes my son and I take an off road home for fun. My Toyo MT worked great on trails for two years and not so good on icy roads, so think about this, some times the trail is icy. On mountain asphalt roads I always drive slower with MT'S and in snowy icy condition I might have to put it in four wheel on some icy road inclines. But I never had to put my chains on, now that would be like admitting defeat or a deal breaker for that tire. I ran BF All Terrains for years and they worked fine (2500hd), my son really likes the Toyo A/T3 (Toyota OfRd) and that's why I'm putting them on my truck now.

Toyo's 315/75/16LT A/T3 $339.00 ea 50,000 mile and the 37/12.50/17 were $45?.00 ea and have been out of stock, so I staying with my 35" for now. Falken's 315/75/16 were were $9.00 less $330.00 w/55,000 mile, Falken's 37" $454.00

I like M/T’s for on/off road. And my M/T’s are good on road as well and quiet. And my MPG is still good. Not a big difference. But deff depends on how big the tires are. And tread.

The geolandar MT are Quiet af don’t what you’re talking about and I feel zero vibration and I have some on my 2021 Trail Boss. Tires have been putting in work better than BF and the Goodyear AT tires. Prices are always gonna go up, if y’all don’t wonna pay almost $1500-2000 bands for some good AT or MT tires than just avoid an Off Road vehicle and buy a Honda 👍🏽👍🏽 off road vehicles are definitely not for the broke or penny pinching type of ppl

If you don't need mudd terrain tires then don't purchase them as they're nothing but vibration and steering component disasters. I also find putting LT tires on half ton trucks are nothing but problematic. They are exceptions, but for my experience any type of LT tires on half ton trucks causes steering component failures due to excessive weight and vibrations.

all good points. I have never had any problem with ko2 LT tires on my tundra and I have a relatively sizable one. As far as mud terrain, it’s something you have to experience yourself to know if they are what you need because others opinion are all mostly subjective.
