I was impressed with your little talk with Juliette about spending money to make money. It’s very hard to part with money when it’s your own and not your parents. Juliette’s concern was not wanting to wait for her money to grow. I get it Juliette. I get it. I was always amazed how frugal my kids could be when they were paying out of their pockets. Here's an idea for the lamp on your console... you can buy a rechargeable light bulb or you can buy a small rechargeable power source that you can plug the lamp into. Love your videos and your sweet family.

I'm not sure about this, but I think you can also get solar-powered batteries that you can attach to the window and use as a power source for a lamp.

Hi Jos, I have a solution for the problem of not having an outlet for the lamp you plan to put on the console. There are rechargeable light bulbs, also known as emergency lights. The best ones I have found are made by JacksonLux. They might be a good temporary solution to the problem until you can get an outlet installed. Hope that helps. - Jenn

Jocelyn, the unique style of red-clay tiles and figures at timestamp 11:50-12:05, were made (primarily?) at the California Missions and (sold in their gift shops, if my recollection is correct). Nice selection of them at your sale there. You scored some real Cool goodies. You taught Ashton and Juliet well, about handling vintage items carefully. Juliet cradles them in her palm with such care. Good job. ( : On the outlet issue at your home, see if there's an outlet on the opposite side of either wall, that your Dad could access, by going through the wall.

I bought an extension cord for the same reason, no outlet, from Amazon-it was all clear & the cording was the size of a piece of spaghetti-so strange at first, but it is just what I needed-for a lamp also.

I feel your pain. I was once without my kitchen during the holidays due to a leak that ultimately resulted in getting new cabinets. I was doing dishes in the bathroom too. One thing’s for sure, you will never again take modern kitchen amenities for granted. And you’ll always remember that one time during the holidays when you didn’t have a working kitchen. Someday…you’ll look back and laugh!

Wow. What beautiful glass items at the flea market! Yes. I remembered those days of no kitchen to use at all and how hard it is when you have young children! We had a chimney fire about a little over 10 years ago. The fire department drowned our home and had our top floor and the main floor needed to be remodeled. It was supposed to take 6-8 weeks to remodeled it. But the contractor dragged it out to almost a year! It was so hard with 3 little ones and I was pregnant with our 4th child. I so wish our little town had such a thing as flea market and they could share the same area with the farmers market at the same time.

That Peacock Fenton bowl was amazing! I just got my first black carnival the other day, fenton 9" Butterfly Berry. Was my only Christmas present, then my daughter had a diabetic attack (type 1, newly diagnosed) and knocked my bowl to the ground, still in its newspaper.... It literally became 3 shards and some very pretty dust/glass glitter. I'll find another piece one day, the $67 loss hurt, but I got to own it for 11 hours. Such is the wacky life of a mom. Keep being awesome Joslyn!

I believe they are called soft closed doors/drawers. I love them they are so nice, just a little tap and they close quietly. Have had mine for years and highly recommend in any kitchen.

They have lite bulbs that you charge in an electric lamp, then remove the charged bulb and put it in a lamp that you don't have an outlet for.

Use a paddle drill bit & drill through the wall to the next room where there probably is a plug. You won't be able to see it because the console will hide it. I have done this in the past. Works like a charm. No need for an unsightly extension cord running around the door.

As handy as Dad I’d be can I st notch the quarter round to fit the legs in! If there is an outlet in either walls beside the chest then he can actually tie into one or both and put an outlet down low for the lamp. That is what my husband does anywhere I need one!

I was so surprised someone from PA bought that from me here in Ct…seeing whereas PA is Chockfull and overflowing with every type of glassware ever produced. You don’t need an extension cord, you can get the Philip’s LED bulbs that are chargeable and have an app, you can then turn them on and off via your phone or a remote 🤳🏻💡😊 and even change the colour

Behind the console upstairs, have your dad either - 1 - drill a whole just above the base board in the very back corner. Or 2 - when he takes the quarter round up, he can run an electric wire at the base where the mounding came up.

Get yourself a plastic tub that is manageable, wash your dishes in the tub. When finished you can just throw the water outside. Have a blessed day.

Oh wow the glass. The cabinets are beautiful. Love the color. Can’t wait to see them in place. The tile for the backsplash is beautiful as well. Very neutral but perfect with the green. The console looks great in the hall. It should be easy for your dad to put an outlet behind the console. Because the room right there probably has an outlet right on the other side of the wall that he could tie into.
