People are underestimating how fucking awesome this song is and what this means for the metalcore genre. A++

Lol, please. What does it mean for the genre? Literally nothing here is new or groundbreaking in any way.

You're clearly not an OG. This song wreaks of Fall of Ideals. This album will be iconic. I'm sorry you have to be cynical about something so epic.
@hurpdurp9168 ай бұрын
@@NaturalHealingFL I've been listening since Darkened Heart, which is exactly why I know this isn't anything new lol. This song would the weakest track on TFoI. It's solid instrumentally but Phil's cleans have become worse and more overused with time, and they bring this track way down. Love it all you want man, but acting like it's groundbreaking or something is weird and inaccurate.

Same. He brings a practical aspect to it. Cuts through the ideological stuff and goes right for the heart of it. He is even willing to call out the Libertarians for their idealism over practicalism.

Yessir!! Huge Phil fan, especially because the more I find out about him the more I realize just how much we have in common. We're both Massholes, although from different parts of Mass as he is from the western part of the state (like many GREAT Metalcore bands from Mass like Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, Shadows Fall, Unearth etc) whereas I grew up 5 miles from Fenway Park in Boston. We're both military vets, he was in the Marines and I'm a disabled combat vet who served in The Air Force and the Army. We're both supporters of Trump, we love this country and we HATE the com****sts on the left (which is about 85% of the left at this point honestly) AND possibly my favorite similarity between us is, he is Agnostic (although he used to say he was an Atheist but I think pressure made him change it to Agnostic because you get less pressure/trouble saying that) and I am AN UNAPOLOGETIC ATHEIST!!! He's a PHENOMENAL vocalist and from everything I have seen, he's an equally great human being!! I'd love to meet him someday. I was fortunate enough to see them twice, once was back in '04 not long before I left for boot camp and the last time was in '11 I believe, when they came down to North Carolina. They were touring in support of Five Finger Death Punch and as great as FFDP was that night, ATR STOLE THE SHOW...Oli Herbert was a BEAST...we called him "Mr. Spotlight" because every time he'd have a solo he would stand on a little riser and a spotlight would shine down on him and he would just SHRED the ever loving F*** outta that guitar!! RIP OLI....and just like the new ATR song "Forever Cold" WE KNOW WHO'S RESPONSIBLE!!!!

@@terryface This is such a bad take. Saying their last three albums are trash is like saying you never like Trivium in the first place. What are you even talking about dude? By that logic you should be saying this new All That Remains single is trash too. Both Trivium and All That Remains put out two shit albums in a row in the same time period and now both have made comebacks. Lay off whatever it is you're smoking.

The drummer is non other than Anthony Barone, ex drummer of Shadow of Intent for the album Melancholy, for A Night in Texas, Beneath the Massacre, Babymetal, so between him and JASON RICHARDSON in guitars, they have two powerhouses in the band, if they use them really well, this could be an amazing album.

@christianmusician16 Well said. Jason Richardson was literally Oli's personal choice of replacement if ehe ever had one and I don't understand what's not to like. Its everything ATR was with Oli. Dual guitar harmonies mixed with shrieking leads over rhythms, shredding solos, and layers upon layers of pinch harmonics. This song could've been on an album like Overcome and fit right in
