I am a proud student of the Lino school of skate. Here we learn not only how to skate but hows skates skate. But, most importantly, S.K.A.T.E s - self expression (Cus we all skate our own way) K - killer beanies A - always practice T - try something new E - (most of all) enjoy! Yea, I made that up on the ride home thinking of what today's vid from professor Lino was. Which oddly enough I watch first then go skating.

SSM means Standard Speed Mount. therefor 165mm SSM and 195mm SSM is refering to the screw distance and both with 10mm higher heel than toe.

The crazy thing is UFS distance between bolts is 167mm so basically the same as the SSM thing you mentioned. Interesting video cuz I didn't know about any of the other mounting types other than UFS. ✌️

What about the ones where the front wheel is further and separated from the other two? Why is that? Like SEBA FR1 310 has.
@alesioser
@alesioser 4 жыл бұрын
I'm still looking for this... Why?!
@alesioser
@alesioser 4 жыл бұрын
I found this out. If the front wheel is separated you get more manoeuvrability but if there is an equal space between wheels, you get more stability. Is kind of a rockering mode
@inlinedownhill8258
@inlinedownhill8258 2 жыл бұрын
@@alesioser The 2 wheels behind it are actually to strengthen the frame/boot from the added load/pressure when braking using a parallel slide, magic slide, or soul slide. while 1 front tire is to make the frame longer. longer frames = more stable. actually it is possible, if the 3 tires are made tightly together, so this specification will result in a shorter frame. However, the short frame specifications and increased wheel height (110mm/125mm) are very dangerous for marathon / speed / downhill skaters. no downhill/speed skaters using 3 wheels short-frame

I'm so curious about triskates. Slowly starting to get better at skating, every time I go out I'm learning more about my movement and I'm even picking up the t-stop unintentionally. I caught myself using my other skate dragging to slow down without even thinking about it. Once I'm much better and I saved up again I'm definitely going to try a three wheel setup. It'll also bring me new things to learn and new challenged to master on new skates in the future. Always keep a lookout for the next challenge/lesson to master in skating right? :)

daves2hd that's nice to read ;) let's do a video to help you: what could I teach you in a video ? 😉👊🏼
@daves2hd
@daves2hd 7 жыл бұрын
Well for one you're already helping me, your videos give me a lot of encouragement and inspiration :). A video to help me would be awesome!.... Right now the 2 things I'm struggling the most with (in my opinion) are: #1-Cross overs, I'm just too scared still to try them, and I have no idea how to start practicing them, right now a curve means slowing down just rolling through. Nothing too exiting but it usually gets me around, and I feel this is something that develops faster as my balance keeps improving. #2-Breaking is still an issue, especially having to break hard/fast. One technique I just can't get any progress on is one I know as the plow stop. The one where you widen your stance and you're supposed to move your feet in an A or V shape, it's supposed to be very good for quick slowdown and downhill breaking. But I just don't know what to do, I can't get an power to my feet to get them in a A/V position :(. The heel break is my most used break at the moment but on uneven terrain(especially bad pavement or tile on the sidewalk) I find it works a lot less reliable. I'm learning the T-stop slowly now but I'm mostly using it to slow down, having trouble to use it as a full break. Any breaking method you can show me that and how to start practicing, and build it in to a full stop would help me so much. It's just dangerous to keep speed. I feel breaking is the biggest issue right now, it's keeping me from skating in a nice pace because I'm too busy watching traffic, as soon as I spot a car or bike I just slow down to a walking pace because I'm afraid I can't stop or react if I have to (safety comes first! no speed without proper trust in my breaking skills!). Honestly any video on teaching something about skating is helping me :) Do something you like to do as well, or something you think will improve my form and balance. Keep making the videos, cheers!
@Johro66
@Johro66 7 жыл бұрын
daves2hd for the plough stop , when your skates are in the A (or inverted V) position make sure your knees are bent, and you gotta really push out both skates while maintaining the A shape. You can push quite wide, just make sure you push but keep the shape, and try push more with the heels. Also stay low, don't stand up straight. So put your feet in A shape, keep the shape but PUSH out wide, against the surface, knees bent and it helps to bring your knees together. Push more with the heels. You'll get it!
@Johro66
@Johro66 7 жыл бұрын
daves2hd also practice your turns, and just keep making those turns tighter, and you'll feel you're braking. Think zig zag or slalom, make those turns tight.

I wonder if every brand decides to have their own mounting system like powerslide is doing, not good. Anyways, I've never tried the Trinity system, does it really have a different feeling than a standard 2 points mount? Because the things you mentioned are what powerslide brands about it, so 🤷‍♂️. Awesome video with a really good explanation, keep doing it! 👊

Zoli hey hey: do they fit? Mines in my size fit but a bit shorter. I usually skate them without the insole and for perfect 😉 it for the second pair I wanted to try the size bigger . But they are defenetely 1mm or 2 shorter then the other skates l the same size. Obviously one you break them in and the heal foams get a bit thinner u will love them 😉👊🏼 good choice on those skates

I'm skating with them in the house the boots are just right. The heal does feel tight but you're right there is a lot of padding back there. I'm pleasantly surprised at how 110mm triskate is not a crazy change from 4x80mm.

Regarding city skating, how inferior is a aggressive setup with a trimax frame in comparison to a freestyle one with 100/110 wheels? Soon I will be buying my first pair of skates and I'd like something with options to perform some agressive skating, but, being objective, 90% of the time I just will be using them for commuting/freeskating. I don't mind them being more heavier or having to swing harder, my concern is the speed achieved in the limitations of an urban area (short blocks, transit, pedestrians, etc). Thanks in advance!
@RicardoLino
@RicardoLino 7 жыл бұрын
i would say, if you have aggressive skates..keep them and just get other frames..or if you´re keen of starting to skate around the city etc..but in the future you wanna go to parks...do grinds etc....then aggressive skates and TRIMAX for sure!! if you´re starting all from the beginning and just want skates to cruise around the city, GO non ufs..usually more comfortable and and more enjoyable skate feeling.. Hope this answered your question. ;) thanks for the comment. lotta love

Evans Evans I begun with a rollerblade solo estilo rg1. with a Kizer powerblade level 1 80mm flat. It's a versatile way to begin if you're not sure on what you will do mostly because you Can remove soulplates. Now i'm on a trimax 110. You Can do quite everything came up into your thoughts. One moment you're cruisin the city ...the other One you're on a ramp ...or on a fitness session without changing your skates.

Tenis Dimants welll you can do it but you might need to modify the skate to 195mm mount. That's what I did with my black imperials . To be able to put the long speed skating frames....bue usually the longest frames are the racing frames and most of them are 195.. some brands have some 165 or dual (165 and 195) long frames ;)

What other UFS frames are there? I wanna try this big wheel thing, I had been doing aggressive inline for years but stopped about 7 years ago, my last pair of skates have been in the closet forever. I want to get back on some wheels but more for urban exploring/cruising/exercise. I'd like to be able to go fast and cruise for a good length before pushing again, is this something that these big wheels will help me do? Cause I almost tempted to buy some new aggressive skates but I would also like to try this big wheel thing out to see if I like it. 12+ years of aggressive skates got me used to small wheels and low center of gravity.
