What made Columbo so great and enjoyable, was that even the supporting players and even the bit players were excellent actors and perfectly cast. That’s why you see so many playing multiprocessor in various episodes. Columbo is definitely a top five show of all time in my opinion. The originals that is. The later ones were okay, but not on the level of the originals. That certain “Something” was missing from later shows.

Vito Scotti was just one of those rare few (like Paul Lynde for example) where if his name is in the credits...BAM! it's automatically going to be worth watching and funny. Columbo is infinitely worth watching anyway...but add Signor Scotti to the mix and you have a "chef's kiss"! He should of had a shot at having his own show like Paul Lynde did.

Thing I love about the clips when he gives Columbo the grapes gets me everytime, the reaction the hand gestures. I’m not Italian but it just seems such an Italian thing to “nooooooo!!! (I can’t possibly except such a gift)” this is the because of great writing, great acting and a bit of freedom to improvise. You find out Peter Falk has no Italian lineage he was Jewish. These small details are what really do it for me and this show.

I’m reaching out to you. Let my team walk you through it. Join the movement. Some great new ideas need time to percolate. Newton wasn’t built in a day. Hopefully you’ll think it over and join the team. Columbus in the 50’s was never more than 10 minutes partly because of programming. There’s hardware and software. The 50’s TVs were mostly hardware and too small so they couldn’t hold longer shows inside them. Nowadays the software programming and larger memory with teamwork reaching out to you allows you to watch all sizes due to the chips and LEDs and Motorola involvement. They didn’t have Claw Technology. They had to rely on Central Vacuum Theory or other theories like that. The Central Vacuum Theory and 100% basis of operation was a Catholic Ray Tub or CRT. It took up the whole set leaving almost no room for shows longer than 10 minutes or anything else and was very heavy. They became fly fighters and invented flypaper control.
