Hi Becky, fab vlog. Next year I am NOT buying any clothes, I am going to make everything. Like you, I have narrow shoulders, so I am going to try your method. I have to do big sizes because my bum is really big. But I am really narrow on the shoulders. I am recycling a faux fur coat at the moment. If it works out I will be so proud of myself. I am 75 but going on 35 no old lady styles for me. I love Tilly and the Buttons and have just got a book for Christmas. Happy New Year xxxx 75

Becki, you are so incredibly photogenic and show off your garments beautifully. I think this year you have had tremendous success in finding patterns that complement your shape to perfection. Pant fitting will take a while to master but keep at it and keep sharing your journey with us. It helps me so much. I may be in the US, but I feel like I've connected with so many of your same sewing friends (of course on KZbin - not in real life) and I've loved the more personal interactions. Thank you for 2024 and Happy 2025 to you!

I love all your makes, please sew whatever brings you joy! 63 on top of running a business, working full time and care giving with your MOM, kids, partner, making, then editing videos, Whew! I have no idea how you do it! Be kind to yourself. Thank you for an incredible year of sewing. I hope 2025 brings you good health and happiness!

Following you has been so enjoyable, I love your vlogs. Thank you for the work you put into your channels. I have not purchased any clothes at all this year, I even make my own knickers now! I have made a couple of quilted jackets, but have not yet tackled a coat, so that's one of my goals for 2025. Jeans are another challenge for 2025. I am toying with the idea of making bras, too. Fitting is an issue for me, too, and I am so over these vastly oversized patterns.

I love the patina, only in a viscose for me because of its boxy shape. I also elasticated the arms rather than adding a cuff - this is because I’m an elbow pusher (always pushing my sleeves to my elbows)

I love the peplum top with the strawberries!! I think the structure of the double gauze is perfect for this pattern!! I think quite the opposite of you-I think the fabric standing out a bit, makes you look smaller around the mid section, as it is not clinging to that area and it compliments your bustline! (I'm not criticizing your mid section-I mentioned it, only because you seemed to think it made you look bigger, and it does not!!) You look great in it! I also really liked the "Holland Dress" I believe it was called in that green print-that was divine!! Everything looks fabulous, and the more we sew the more we learn, you are not alone in that! :+) Thank you for sharing, it was a treat!

Happy New Year when it comes Becky 🎉Where do you find the energy to do everything? 😂 My plan for 2025 is to find some balance in my life. It’s been a very stressful year and I haven’t been able to come up for air, so next year is all about balance in every aspect of life ☝🏼 Sewing wise, I’m going to build a work wardrobe as I have changed jobs and no longer wear a uniform. Excited to make a start on the plans for that 😆 Thank you for providing so many hours of joy and inspiration in 2024, can’t wait to see what you bring us in 2025 💞💞💞

I loved your pattern and fabric choices.With the Thea trousers I think you need to size up to stop the creases at the front and then take in the waist.Rachel from Stitched up also has a great vlog for this.However, if you have to make so many adjustments that your creating a new pattern,I would put it away and look at other options. I am a new subscriber and am so looking forward to your next makes.
@whatbecsewsКүн бұрын
Hey, aww thanks for the tips, I have actually done a full belly adjustment on the Thea’s to get the fit right, the creases are caused by a stupid error meaning I have had to sew outside the seam allowances making the belly adjustment redundant 🙈 I got there with the fit through three toiles, I just got to a point where I was making silly mistakes ❤️❤️❤️

Becky I have enjoyed watching your videos over 2024! They’ve been very inspiring! I struggle too with trouser fitting, as I have to do a full seat adjustment as there’s 2 sizes between my waist and hips. my next attempt will be the SOI ultimate trousers but with a bit of stretch fabric to give me a bit of wiggle room if I don’t get quite right 🫣
