Light skin can get dark by tanning, it’s not blackface lmao. My family is Irish and my sister somehow was able to get super dark one summer just by not using sunscreen, and she looked darker than Selena. Horrible idea not to use sunscreen, but I remember her looking borderline black.

swirlzyz zzz it’s not at all, but the sun’s rays are harmful to light skin especially. Melanin is there to protect you against the sun, but those with light skin have very little melanin, so we burn easily without sunscreen. So because of not wearing sunscreen, my sister would get sunburns all the time that turned into a tan. Sunburns are so bad for the skin, they dramatically increase your risk for the most deadly skin cancer which is melanoma. And skin cancer runs heavily in my family, which makes it even worse.
