Fantastic Score with this instrument, congratulations Sir. Most all the Heritage Series Goldtops I've seen do seem to have a really nice top-carve! Austin, you should do a Deep-Dive on all the Gold Top Variants Gibson offers, also maybe cover the top-carve description and timeline styles. Goldtop, Double Goldtop, Bullion Goldtop, Vintage Relic with greening oxidation, very confusing for the casual Gibson aficionado! Also, maybe do a deep dive on Norlin era pickups. Great Content, especially the Norlin Era instruments.

I love Austin's unboxing process. Everytime he opens up a new guitar he seems like he is a teenage kid opening up his first guitar for the first time. His enthusiasm is so infectious. I would love to see a parallel world Austin who was a Rickenbacker specialist and afficianado! Cheers from the Land Down Under.

Definitely a bit of Hocus Pocus with this "mystery" Heritage 80! This "baby bump" deep carve, gold top with humbuckers is my "dream" Les Paul model (over a Deluxe GT) especially with it's atypical thinner 3 piece C neck, and this lighter gold color is gorgeous.

On "gold" pigment: Crescent brand had dozens of "gold" powders, and for the desperate or hurried, grabbing the oops canister creates an entirely different reflection, even particle size shifts the optics. Nickel in mix oxidizes a mossy green, and gives a lime tint. Hence, a more brassy glow on others.

It's really too bad that Gibson didn't have better record keeping. it makes finding out accurate information about guitars like this very difficult. but put detective Trogly on the case and we will find out exactly what it is. well if he couldn't find out exactly what it is. we at least know about it than before he started sleuthing it. and the additional benefit is we got to hear a great sounding Les Paul. this guitar sounds so good that a person would want to play it all the time. but it's in such pristine condition that a person would be wise not to. so it stays in this condition.

@@musicauthority674okay, since when is a 2500 Les Paul Standard going to buy you a house? If that equals your house payment then you ain't worried about a 2500 guitar. Even if you go to the Gibson Special Releases at 50k, that's less than a house, by best case scenario, half. In most parts of America, a house runs 250k+, on average. And if you can afford a 50k guitar then your house is likely will over 250k in value. No, Gibson had zero clue that their guitars from 70 years ago would cost what they do now. It's a testimony to the work Gibson did at the time. And yeah their QC was a bit all over the place even back then. Though the instrument was done by hand back then.
