Wow, I am blown away by the creativity and passion that you into your work! I've been trying to learn game development myself, I'm currently two months in but mega demotivated at the same time because it feels that I've barely scratched the surface of unity despite learning so much. It's videos like this that keep me motivated. Thank you for all of your hard work, and please keep creating these amazing videos and games that will bring so much joy to so many people! Trust me, you're gonna make it big if you keep going.

Thank you so much!! It really means a lot to me:) dont give up, maybe take a break if you are really sick of it . I highly recommend you to try makw a tiny game, doesnt matter what anyone will think of it, try make something functional, and finish it. For me, the game that really got me to understand gamedev was the lava lamp one in my video. After that it all got easier

Just found this channel and... Im a gamedev too and have been working for about the same time as you, so seeing this video really inspired me :D keep it up, im excited to see where you and your games will go. Tbh I agree with example comment in the video that shop drifting was my favorite game and had the most potential!
@Wishbone_Games
@Wishbone_Games Жыл бұрын
Thats really cool im so glad you found the video inspiring! Im glad you like shop drifting, i was hoping more people would mention it, but it seems like ill have to make a devlog series about the FPS game where you turn into different people(which is still good, i love that game too).
@josephross5349
@josephross5349 Жыл бұрын
@@Wishbone_Games yeah I kinda suspected that shop drifting would be an underdog tbh. It feels like the sort of game that publishers would reject but would end up finding massive success. Glad you like working on all of your games tho & ill be on the lookout for the FPS game devlog!

Thank you! Im kinda thinking that shop drifting(if i pull it off well) will be my big break, like the game that i am known for. So when i do get around to it, ill try get a publisher on board and do marketing etc.

Really cool channel. Subscribed. Your game ideas are interesting and remind me of indie or flash player games I used to play. The shopping cart one looks really fun. Your videos are funny and one can learn something from it. I'm learning game dev myself as a hobby (hobby because I work full time plus always wanted to do it just like every gamer kid). Videos and channels like this are really cool and helpful. You'll blow up soon in a couple more years. Just keep making videos like this.

great video.. also i have a question: how did u learn to code c#? did u learn it with the time by making games or even watching a tutorial of making a specific game orf for example u watched how to do shooting system and then u learned things or u went to see a tutorial of c#.. i know u need the basics and currently i think i have them but i dont know if to learn every subject of the c# and then starting with unity cause before i searched in google for beginner subjects and then i learned them and the interemediate and then advanced well i didnt finish all of the videos cause i lost my motivation and then i went to gamemaker which turned out pretty cool but i want to do some first person or third person..... so what do u think should i do? cause at the end of the day if im writing some movement code or more advanced code maybe and copying it even if i will understand it and even if i know how to write it i think will feel like i dont know how to code. but im not sure cause i didnt get to an advanced level but i have a feeling that it will be like this. and for example when i learned some topics it was really hard for me to write an example of it i couldnt..

First of all, thank you :) I was in the same boat as you for a long time, i would watch tutorials, copy the code and when i tried my own thing, it didnt work at all. THIS is a very important thing in my opinion: i chose a SUPER simple game to make(my lava lamp game from the video), and i decided to not use any tutorials. I sat down everyday and always tried to tackle one task. I first just tried figuring out how to make sure the "y" coordinate of the player stays the same throughout the game, and after i figured that out on my own, i moved on to the next small step(when i was very stuck, i would look up a very specific example eg. "how to lock y coordinate of object unity") but i would never watch a tutorial, i would just read what other people did on forums, or read unity documentation. The lava lamp game is when coding all "clicked" for me. If you want, you could try remake my lava lamp game, with no art, just get some mechanics working, using as little help as you can. Let me know if this helps or if you have any more questions
@major9097
@major9097 Жыл бұрын
@@Wishbone_Games so do u think sitting and watching c# tutorial of 6 hours will help?? cause to be honest codding clicked to me too a little when i worked on my game in gamemaker cause i watched tutorial of a guy on how to do platformer and then i copied the code from one project to another and there was the step of doing enemies which i didnt know how to do and i just did it myself and i did whenever the player shoots the gun the enemies will take damage because i was sick i sat 4 days on the both games and sat for like 9 hours at least everyday maybe 1 or 2 days a little less but if i want to do something like enemies shooting at u i dont think i will be able to do it or some tasks well by the time that coding will click u .. u will be able to do some amazing things!! but the problem is that i dont really know c#
@Wishbone_Games
@Wishbone_Games Жыл бұрын
@@major9097 if you are very new to c#, i say maybe watch a beginner tutorial, but i think 6hours is a bit overkill. I think you need to shoot for a small, simple game, but try make it on your own. So maybe watch a begnner tutorial, then write out somewhere what you want the game to be and what mechanics you want to add, but make sure they are very simple, almost too simple, and try get that game working. Because mahbe just for me, but the more i work on my own, the faster i learn. Copying code doesnt teach me anything, even if i understand it.
@major9097
@major9097 Жыл бұрын
@@Wishbone_Games yea me too but before i left unity i watched some c# tutorials and i knew some thing from it but even if i knew and i tried to do something that i learned like a little complicated topics in the beginners subject and i tried to write them in visual studio and i barely could even write code .. but the basic thing will not even help me on doing movement shooting and more..
@Wishbone_Games
@Wishbone_Games Жыл бұрын
@@major9097 im not sure if you noticed yet, but there is not "one way" to make something in games. A great example is for movement, you can choose to move your player through the world, but in the game "outer wilds" they actually chose to move the entire solar system around you, but you never notice it. So if youre having trouble designing something, if you know the basics, you should be able to do a lot with it if you just think about how you would do it, dont worry about how others would
