Geraldo Rivera... you have got to be kidding me when you called Matt Lauer , a 'gentleman' ? ! Matt in *no* *sense* of the word is a gentleman. He is a harassing coward. He has been so cruel to both sexes throughout the years. Matt Lauer is the kind of person that thinks they are untouchable *UNTIL* karma catches up to them and they truly see their mistakes . I don't like bad things happening to anyone , but some people *really* have it coming!

How ironic!! I am sure Matt never believed he would be in the same position as O'Reilly. And he is treating O'Reilly pretty roughly considering that he is no better.

Geraldo Rivera in hot waters again, if that's the case?! it won’t be the first time for him. It’s hard to follow his logic I must say, I have been around long enough to know that about Geraldo. Matt Lauer is obviously not the guy most people had thought him to be. He’s out now and that’s how it should be. Who else needs to be exposed? Keep on coming!

Matt Lauer is THE reason I quit watching the Today Show. When he forced Ann Curry out, I could see what an evil jerk he was. I can't believe his wife has stayed with him through the years knowing what he was doing. To accept "gifts" of horses and a fancy stable in return for her silence is disgusting. IMO, that puts her in the same league with a woman who sells herself for money. As for him apologizing, I don't believe for one second that he is sorry for what he has done, only that he got caught. Now, the comments made by Geraldo sound an awful lot like the ones Matt made to and about Bill O'Reilly. So who's the next one to go down? Maybe Geraldo? Since he seems to see nothing wrong with what Matt did, is it because he himself has also "been there, done that"? IMO, if he has, then he is no better than the others who've been spotlighted for their inappropriate behavior. Let's go after Joy Behar. The picture of her groping Robin Williams groin shows she doesn't get it any more than the rest of them.

Human's are flawed. This happens amongst people who are not famous. The average woman or man has a hard time trying to get someone to believe they are being sexually harassed. They tend to ignore complaints or throw it under the rug. The average person making the complaint is usually retaliated against by those in authority and are made to look like they are the problem. They know a poor person does not have the money to sue. However, famous people committing these humiliating acts are exposed to the world and their humiliation is ten fold. I hope these headlines informs the average person going through the same thing courage to come forward and file their complaint and see it through. Watch out for retaliation.

You know... I get very sick of people screaming about 'due process' when the very essence of our civilization is about AVOIDING due process for good or ill. Responsible lawyers will always tell you that an out of court settlement is always preferable to litigation. Politicians champion the philabuster over the 'nuclear' option. Diplomats prefer back door negotiations over public slinging matches. GP Doctors often use intuition to select an appropriate cure rather than wait for scientific tests. People often brake road rules to get where they are going dead on time. People often trust their own intuition and beliefs over statistical and scientific analysis. Public health officials often talk in terms of safe levels of toxic substances. Business people champion having 'the edge' over their competitors. THE MILITARY TALK IN TERMS OF COLLATERAL DAMAGE. Then there is Marshall law, and declarations of emergency. Due process has its place, but to call it some sort of sacred cow is ridiculous. When people are in a crisis, due process often falls by the wayside and there are many good reasons for this to happen. What is happening in western culture concerning sexual harassment and sexual assault in the workplace is that a critical mass of people have decided that an old social norm in now unacceptable, and it is hiding a huge and ongoing crisis. There are systemic elements of our civilization that are in fact barbaric, and we must stop it ASAP. YES. Trial by media is a travesty of due process. BUT due process has FAILED to address these issues, and every day people are hurt and left to suffer alone. The cost of this destruction to our civilisation is massive. Particularly in the destruction of female talent. This cost is far grater than any collateral damage done to relatively few people who are falsely accused. A few undeserved scandals are nothing compared to the scores of people who've had their careers and lives destroyed We must reassess the massive underrepresentation of women in leadership roles throughout our culture, in light of systemic sexual harassment in the workplace. Our civilisation needs every outstanding individual to be operating at full capacity, we must rise to the challenges of the coming decades. We can no longer afford to carry the predators, bullies and vampires. They are not worth it. No person should be too big to fall.

At 7:15 the moderator starts talking about "due process", but when Matt Lauer or anyone else accused of similar behavior admits they did what they are accused of and/or refuses or chooses not to go through an investigation or to proclaim their own innocence, they are basically admitting guilt and further need for any "due process" ends there. Matt Lauer apparently found enough truth in what charges he was confronted with by NBC and chose not to fight it because he knew that the truth would come out. He could demand "due process" and fight back in the press, but apparently he didn't believe enough in his own innocence. He knew the facts. He knew what he'd done. Any more "due process" would probably only have made Matt Lauer look a lot worse.

sheila sheehan You are joking, right? So the problem of sexual harassment only affects women, is that what you are saying? At least your time has come! There are many men out there who suffer the same indignities as women but are too afraid to speak out. Why is that do you think 🤔 Will men ever see justice for unwanted advances and harassment in the workplace from their female colleagues? I think not! You may think that all of these stories coming to light are huge victories for all women who have suffered through sexual harassment, and you maybe right. However, sexual harassment is a “human” problem and the hatred and loathing of men displayed by the media these last few months has done nothing to help the men who have battled through the same circumstances, simply because their manhood would be brought into question. If you want to have something to say then say it, it’s your right. But speak up for everyone!!!

We have been listening to women come forth about men harassing them on the job. Most of it consensual and some is not. We need to look at how women harass women on the job to move up. NBC was too quick to fire Matt Lauer. Watch Megan Kelly because she wants his chair and will do anything to her coworkers to get it. Everyone needs to pray.

I heard several former popes may have touched certain nuns in an offensive way . Shall we now condemn and destroy the Catholic church based on this unsubstantiated speculation ?

Iam sadden to hear about Matt Lauer. I enjoyed watching him. I find it interesting as how many people are coming out with sexual harassment now days after so many years has gone by. Why now? its certainly not an easy topic to talk about. I wished i came clean after being being bullied but i was to scared to do so..

deux - many men think they're studs. Just fooling themselves. Raping is raping, and you are placing way too much importance on men's genitalia. I have heard rapist say the same thing you posted.

Dorothy Shaffer perfectly said! Things like this have been shoved under the rug too long and people do not need to deal with this wrong doing alone while the filth continues on repeating the same disgusting actions
