I love how all our Ghanaian folks are hailing our sister here. Please put forth the same energy when the individual is a Ghanaian lady. I say this because I know how our fellow Ghanaians shame our women who find themselves being single mothers and have a child at an early age. So it's good we understand that, your beginning might not necessarily determine your end and having a child at an early age should not be a death warrant.

This is an honest assessment of this lady. She has PTSD from living in a system that had damaged her that will take some serious counseling to repair. Six kids, single and traveling the world looking for peace. I wish you the best because this isn't the way it suppose to be. She hated the white neighborhood, and had to become sexual active in the black community. Bottom-line she moved to Ghana to find a man, and found out that she met a scammer online. You have six kids...

As an African born woman, I do notice an hypocrisy, lift up the Ghanaian women as well, in all truth their grand parents and parents contributed to your comfort in finding a country, if you do not lift you nose up to them, you will be able to retire there. Are black people leaving their countries of birth because they want to be treated differently, as in royalty, what I mean by that, do they want to be noticed? because they could not get recognition, or was the competition to much for them. There is a generation that will come up against all foreigners invading their land. That is a fact.

This mindset is total insanity but yes I remember it too. I remember being like 9 or 10 and every kid was like making fun of each other for NOT having sex yet. I can not imagine the sexual abuse happening in their homes to even put them on that wavelength (despite being abused myself).

Odana, thank you always for great interviews. Unlike we Africans, I may be wrong, I think their government have programs to help underprivileged people such as financial, housing, Food Stamps, Wic Programs,, Medicaid (government health insurance), and whatever is needed to sustain underprivileged people and their children which is good thing. I am happy for her, her children, and grandchildren. She made it. Well done and keep moving forward.
@sheltonmackey64493 жыл бұрын
Everybody cannot get those programs for many reasons. Those programs started during the Black Civil Rights movement In the 1960s. We fought for those programs for everybody. Before the 1960s most Black Americans were living in 3rd world slums. That is why these programs exist today..They give you just enough to keep from falling off the cliff. My ex girlfriend had those programs every last week of the month she did not have enough money to eat. That is why people have to leave their children to work or sell illegal drugs to make ends meet. They split up the Black Family again by saying if a man is at home you cannot get help. That is why so many single Mothers.
@mlungisiwright3 жыл бұрын
Actually welfare was put in place because of the great depression. Not the civil Rights movement. Remember the New deal?
@mlungisiwright3 жыл бұрын
Ask yourself this? If you have a man at home why would you need extra help? The reason was because not every man could get a job or get a job which paid a decent wage. And most of the time your boss was white and you were living in a society where being Black you were " last hired and first fired". A lot of men even under these circumstances were trying to be playas and have multiple women. The women were also having side dudes. Because being a womanizer became something many men aspired to. It led to men not seeking marriage. And with women having their extra men. Men did not want to propose. So now with underemployment and lack of any type of marriage you just have people growing up in poverty.
@mlungisiwright3 жыл бұрын
Poverty without stability. Let me add you do not need to be or a particular race to get government aid in America. If you can show that you are not making a certain amount of money and you go to your local welfare office with proof you qualify. If you are homeless and if you can show you are in deed homeless you can get a voucher which will pay for your housing provided you can find a land lord who will accept it. In Africa I don't know what the governments do for the people. Honestly I don't think they do anything for their people. You have to rely on people who see themselves as kin to you. Nationalism is foreign to Africa in the sense of loyalty based on lines in on a map. They still go by "tribe" clan village. So if you are homeless there if you can find a fellow tribesman/ woman they may take you in. If you are hungry the village will feed you if they can. It does not work like that in America exactly
@tiffanytiffany45643 жыл бұрын
