I could not binge McCarthy the first time I encountered him. But now … I can't put any of his works down. So good. And I loved LOVED the Border Trilogy.

Thought of you last night Mike (wait for it)... was watching a video where some girl was reacting to another video and she paused to go get some pearls out of her jewelry box so she could clutch them :D

I read The Road and enjoyed it. I forgot a lot of what was in it. I have so many things I need to read.

I love your channel, love your content, but I die inside every time you say you didn’t like Blood Meridian 😂. But to each their own, respect. Glad you liked this one, I recently reread and think its great. Absolutely stunning prose throughout. Curious how you will take to The Crossing. Dense, philosophical, not as fast paced as ATHP. But its beautiful and gut wrenching, I think its better thenATHP and a top 3 McCarthy for me (along with BM).

This has been on my to read for like 15 years. CM just tends to have a bleak atmosphere and I always hesitate to start some of his novels.

Try no country for old man. It’s the best of two worlds of McCarthy like all the pretty horses meets the road

I live in south Texas. I'm about the only group of Americans that should be saying it like that.

@@mikesbookreviews Honestly curious in the spirit of educating myself. How come? And all I meant by the comment is that it sounds funny and somewhat endearing.

Houston is about 300 miles from the Mexico border and a large portion of our population speaks Spanish. My wife is fluent and I pick up a lot of proper pronunciations from her ha ha
