Thank you for the shoutout! Icarus Needle is the penultimate book (Icarus Coda is the final one releasing in April). And since you mentioned conventions in the video, I’m hoping you make it to DragonCon next year. I know a lot of people who would love to see you there.

"The Last Cuentista" was absolutely awesome. As one of those readers who goes to great lengths to try to avoid spoilers, I didn't realize that I was picking up a dystopian novel, and it was definitely something outside of my swim lane. In addition to being an outstanding take on some truly time-honored science fiction themes, I think that what really jumped out at me is that the novel itself really has a lot of personality and spunk - and that the way the protagonist is written really holds true to that. I wonder if this book is going to be a little like "Firefly," where only a small group of dedicated and passionate fans paid attention to it initially, but then it slowly builds momentum and grows into something that is very critically acclaimed and beloved by a lot of folks who know talent when they see it. I literally rushed over to my laptop to leave a thank you note for Merph on her channel when I finished it. Up next, I'm going to finally read "Uncompromising Honor," the final book in the Honor Harrington series and one that is very much in my swim lane. Sadly, there's not a John Gwynne-style recap, and I'm already having trouble remembering some of the characters and events, but I'm hoping to come up to speed fairly quickly. Also, great video Mike as always. :)

@ yeah I almost exclusively cover buy. I read the expanse and sun eater for cool covers. I haven’t touched robin hobb because of boring covers. Good art & illustration is important for buying books, maybe more than the actual story

I ALMOST bought The Dragonbone Chair at B&N because I’ve heard good things (no clue what it’s about 😂😂) but I talked myself out of it. I think maybe** two weeks later I got it through the Broken Binding sub! I was so excited! 😂😂

Kagen the Damned was fantastic but yes, very dark. It is a cool mix of cosmic horror in a fantasy novel. I loved Son of the Poison Rose and I'm very much looking forward to The Dragon in Winter to see how the story plays out. Hope you enjoy it too!

Oh man. I had a mini book haul from the Dragonsteel Con this weekend. I got the illustrated edition of Assassin's Quest to complete my collection, Untethered Skys by Fonda Lee, Wind and Truth (of course), and I got Christopher Ruocchio to sign the copy of Kingdoms of Death that i purchased. I had like 10 extra lbs in my suitcase on my flight home, all from books! Plus a stuffed chull that weighs 2-3 lbs. Lol

Yes, øSun Eater» & «MS&T»! 🙌 Yeah, PKD is indeed something else! 😄 My November Haul: The final two novels in Mary Gentle’s «The Book of Ash» series (90s Alt-History Military Fiction), «The Wild Machines» & «Lost Burgundy», as well as a Hardback Edition of Tolkien’s «The Fall of Numenor», Matthew Harffy’s «Forest of Foes» (Historical Fiction set in Anglo Saxon Britain), «The Lion & the Sword» by Roberta Cray (90s Fantasy inspired by Alexander the Great’s Conquest of Greece: Something of a hidden gem going by the few, but very enthusiastic reviews I found of it, anyway, I just saw that glorious cover by the lauded Tolkien Illustrator John Howe, and just had to have it!😄) and «The Women of Troy» by Pat Barker (retelling of the aftermath of the Iliad from the perspective of Briseis, the «War Bride» of Achilles)! Cheers Mike, wish you a speedy recovery!

Hey mike Hope you enjoy the Robert E. Howard book I need to read more of his other stuff besides Conan as well. And as far as the Alex Verus series, I've read 3 of them so far and whiIe I don't consider them as good as the Dresden files They're nice Short little reads If a little formulaic. Just like harry Dresden Alex can't seem to keep from getting in trouble Just can't say no to helping somebody out😀

That Robert E. Howard series/collection is actually 11 books. Howard wrote a bunch in a very short life. Wonder what he could have achieved with another 30+ years.
