Majorca island had a consistent railway network. However, when the State-owned company FEVE took over them, they did nothing but close all the branches nationwide instead of boost and improve their working conditions, with the exception of Asturias, who saw a massive investment during the 80s and 90s, right after the rest of the country lost all their narrow-gauge rail connections. In the case of Majorca, all the lines but the main branch Palma - Inca were taken out of service, however, once the Regional company SFM was created, the whole network was upgraded and electrified, plus re-opening previosly closed lines by FEVE. Hence the trains and tracks are so well maintaned. Thanks for the video!!

5:09 - this diagram caught my interest. It shows that at the time, all the regional “T trains” ran nonstop through to Marratxí, while the M2 covered the intermediate stops. But looking at the timetable now, the M2 is apparently gone completely, and all T trains (except for some 5 trans a day each way on the T2) now stop at those intermediate stations instead. Does anyone know why it was withdrawn? What’s even stranger is that in summer 2022, the M2 did run, but only once an hour (not exactly a Metro frequency is it?), which is down from the 20-minute intervals that Wikipedia claims, while only the T3 ran nonstop to Marratxí, and only on weekdays. (Also the T3 doesn’t stop at Enllaç… which is weird because it was built precisely for the sole purpose of being an interchange between T2 and T3. “Enllaç” literally means “junction” in Mallorquí/Catalan. Not sure if T3 trains stopped there back then or if the diagram is inaccurate but just an additional note)

Indeed the trains on Mallorca re quite good! I did the trip to Manacor three years ago, when the line between Enlac and Manacor wasn't electrified yet and one had to change the train in Enlac. Do the trains even stop there rigth now? As far as I remeber there is not much to do in that "town" which rather looked like a few farms, than an actuall village. However it is a huge shame that they destroyed the old line to Santanyi when they build the new airport, beacuse "the rail was in the way" - come on, you guys killed the best option to get the airport connected to the city :(
