We'd spend the time clipping through the locker and out into the area around the building. Also, you could clip up on top of the lockers, the benches beside the lockers, and the couch. OH! And the old skeleton that falls out of one of the lockers. In multiplayer, because of the lack of synching, everyone saw things differently, so one player could throw a paint can at the skeleton and it would slide through the room like something else. You could also throw a can at the stack of paint cans and it would explode, or pick one can out of the stack, and the others would float.

The old singing was so creepy. I wish they'd add that soundbite back into the game. Variety can't hurt one bit. One of my favorite things about old phas was when you would play in multiplayer and a ghost would drag your body down into the floor, so on maps like Bleasdale and Grafton, you'd walk in and see a pair of legs hanging down through the ceiling on lower floors.

IMO they should bring back a revamped asylum. it wasnt a bad map- it was just alot of long, unbroken hallways and everything looked the same. if u had a hallway ghost it was GG my fav part of the map was being able to roam around and talk to people while there was a ghost hunt on the other side of the map and not really be worried about it finding you i would either just cut the map in half, or make each room distinguishable and cut the long hallways up so itll be easier to find the ghost if its in the hallway

I like the old Ridgeview, old home base, and KINDA the old truck designs. It'd be interesting if we could get them back (at least as options) in the current version of the game.

There was an old 'cheat' when playing multiplayer. One person adds every item then leaves, go back to that private game and every item that you placed is still in the game and you have all your items still. The only downside was that you could not see the items until it was picked up by someone else and placed down. No items lost if you died.

Yea I definitely miss the old Phasmo in many ways. I like all the new stuff they added, but the simplicity, the gargling sounds, the footsteps, the lights flashing on and off (not the static effect like it is now)... those things made the game memorable for me. Simplicity makes better horror than complexity in many ways because imagination is so strong and a driving force for many horror fans. I lost that with the newer game. It isn't "bad", per se, but it just isn't for me anymore, and that's okay. Catering to people who like the game ridiculously hard or people who only want to speedrun kind of ruined it for me (and many others, you can see it in the comments for many YT creator's videos on the older style of Phasmo). Oh well, maybe some day they can give us a PhasmoClassic or something where we can revisit it with friends.

@@heatherspringer4525 Watching Insym live on twitch will give you channel points which have essentially no value but we (the community and him) use it to make at least 2 sided bets sometimes. Winners receive the channel points of the losing partie(s). The more you bet the more you receive of the total won amount. In the time when this video came out he had done what felt like 10 streams in a row using this feature and usually for a yt video he'd mention this in the intro but as we can see he skipped it entirely this time. :D

I used to be "van support" on old Phasmo. Watching for the orbs and guide ppl through the maps & to keep the sanity up (on big maps). For Asylum... I figured out that the ghosts hated Cotton Eye Joe for some reason. If we needed a hunt I'd sit in the door and sing Cotton Eye Joe - the ghosts would close the doors in my face a couple of times and if I didn't stop they'd start a hunt LUL It worked for my friends as well so it wasn't just a me thing xD

I have got to admit, so much as changed, but fortunately a majority of the knowledge I do have when it comes to locating the ghost room is still viable. Helps considering my new Phasmo group consists of newbies who enjoy causing chaos and have to speak to the ghost since my mic isn't loud enough on the Steam Deck. Our last game was a Demon that slaughtered my friend in the bathroom with a hunt at sanity at 70% right off the countdown end.

I still wish we had a custom difficulty option for ghosts making hallways their favorite room. It was annoying when it happened often but if it was an option it'd be a fun thing to have sometimes. I still remember when me and my friends had a basement hallway shade on old asylum that took 2 hours 💀 was one of the most fun and difficult games

Bleasdale & Grafton dont need to be reworked. I understood when they said they were going to rework asylum even though I was bummed that it meant that they were taking it out of the game. Their reasoning was that the map was too large & no one ever played it. But there is no reason to rework Bleasdale & Grafton. If they want to change the maps that much they should just make 2 new maps with a similar theme. Id much rather have more maps than spending all of their time reworking beloved maps. It doesnt make any sense.

I think while the game is on its way to a 1.0 release and all of the important stuff has been added already and most of the annoying bugs fixed, they should add the old Asylum as a secret Backrooms-type easter egg map where the objective isn't to find the ghost type but to escape the map while a unique, ultra roamy ghost wanders the halls itching to hunt you down.

You should ask for an even older version, such as the earlier build given to some high name KZbinrs back then, as those versions had even more stuff in them such as the ghost locking inside doors during ghost events, and actually having to use the keys you would find around the houses.

Old Asylum was way much better than the new one. The new one is all about Gore and its not scary at all because of that "forced" gore. I even find Point hope scarier than sunny meadows which I only play if there is a weekly challenge on it (only exception was to get the gold apocalypse trophy)

These devs are a bunch of hard asses. They also won't allow modding in any way except re-shading. They take years just to develop a single map. If it wasn't for Phasmo pioneering a whole new genre of horror gaming, the game would have died long ago...
