Yard sales are a great source of tools. I’ve spent 20 years building my tools to work on anything. I’ll buy things I don’t need today for under $5, then they find a use in the future. Now I have tools I forget I own. Nothing is a bummer like putting away a new tool and finding your other/better one in the storage spot.

I started out with basic tools got the job done , I’ve collected tons since . As my relatives pass l inherited tons more no one likes old rusty, mismatched tools , l call it experience lol My old saw man always used a pressure washer to clean parts ,cheap excellent results. In BC we have unlimited water and not as cold , most of the time . Always enjoy your videos thanx

Awesome video for the everyone not just beginners! Definitely not necessary but I'd add a shop press to the list of optional tools like a foredom or a lathe. They make pressing cases together an absolute no brainer

Great layout of the basics!! Thanks for sharing👍 I'm in the habit of never putting a saw I've used away without blowing it off/out first. If only I could get my friends that have air in their shops to do the same😐

The Chinese copy of the Foredom is like $70 bucks and they work great…alibaba has the 90 handpiece that fits the Chinese Foredom copy for $80 bucks.., if you have a real Foredom you just need to use a square burr and open it up a little and it will pop on your drive shaft… no problem! 😂👍. Port saw’s boys!!! Best dang hobby on earth!!!

Those threaded piston stops are really nice when you're timing, but don't use them when you're removing a flywheel or clutch. I was reefing on a stuck clutch using one of those and it stripped the spark plug threads and sent the piston stop flying across the room. Had to use one of those thread repair inserts because I couldn't find a cylinder (an old Homelite) and there's some compression lost that I'll never get back.

Loctite has a shelf life of one year or so after its opened. There should be a date on the container. Not to say don't use it but something to be aware of.

I got a big bottle red loctite i had when i retired in 2001 still using it when i need it. It is 21 year old. Got carb cleaner and starting fluid several cases from 2001. Never heard about shelf life. It still works. Like i got about 20 tubes permatex and at least 20 bottles liquid gasket maker. Around 10 gal battery acid. All this stuff is from 2001 when i retired. And i still use it when needed. Even got several products you can not buy any more because of EPA.

Hey Tinman thanks for the vid. Ive been trying to buy a clutch removal socket with 2 shoulders for my rancher. All the amazon ones are N/A or 45$. Any other idea where I might find one? There are other ways to get the clutch off but I would rather do it with the proper tool. Later….

Strange🤔 I got one on Amazon about 6 months ago for less than $10 there's gotta be someone selling them at a reasonable price. Could also take a cheap/spare socket, close in size and grind the 2 sides off so it fits over.

Was true for years, but i got cans full of old snap on ratchets sockets also got broke proto tools. Now days the tools you buy at harbor fright are as good as some times better than big name tools. Times have changed. Look at a home depot wrench then at snap on wrench. Same serial number stamped on back of wrench.
