I just bought one of these for my hamster a couple weeks ago, and I can vouch for sure! They're absolutely wonderful. I really wish they made big enough wheels for male rats, I've made one that's fairly silent but I love the way niteangel wheels look.

I bought my fancy mouse the yellow silent runner in 9 in diameter online from Exotic nutrition store. They are about 25 dollars and easy to take apart to wash. My mouse loves it.

I got a plastic one with no holes by the feet and big enough to not hurt her tail and spine and I guess the plastic ones pick up so much speed and it’s a thing that happens pretty often just sucks I learned the hard way. I tried researching and worked so hard to get her a good one too. I watched so many videos and looked up so much advice. My mouse gained so much speed it flung her off and against the side of the cage and she’s now paralyzed and probably going to pass away.

my favorite wheel is by far one of those wooden wheels that look kind of like ferris wheels and the wood is stuck together by hand. I painted mine with a pet safe paint since i have a naturalistic enclosure, and when i tell you this thing is SO silent, i can only hear my mice’s feet on it. absolutely no squeaking or anything and it’s not heavy and easy to clean since it’s made out of that wood that feels like a plastic and wood combo. highly recommend for anyone who has mice that don’t chew too much.

I would love the niteangel wheel, but it’s really expensive to get it to shop to the uk! And since I would have to get two 8 inch wheels and one 11 inch it would be a lot of money which I don’t have to spend! Oh my gosh, No way! I had the exact same problem with the wooden Trixie wheel for my girls. The cork literally got destroyed in about an hour! I'm so glad that it's not just my mice... Good to know that they're are other destructive mice out there!

I’ve had one of the Trixie wheels for about 2 1/2 years now. I now have 5 (I have a lot of mice 😅) and don’t have any issue with them. A lot of my mice pee a lot in the wheel so they get washed a lot and they still work great. I oil them about once a month and they’re still quiet. Recently 1 (not the oldest one actually) got really squeaky, I used an old syringe to squirt oil right into the mechanism and it’s silent again. I like how you can attach them to the bars or use the stand, they’re definitely quieter when on the stand though.

I've bought two wooden Trixie wheels in the last couple of months- One was the larger 28cm wheel but it seemed far too big and heavy for any of my mice to run on so I bought the smaller 21cm. Annoyingly the wheel didn't spin very well so my mice struggled to run on it. I asked someone to figure out how to loosen the wheel but they said they couldn't without destroying it as all the screws are hidden inside. For these reasons I won't be reccomending or buying a Trixie wooden wheel for mice again.

My rat boys love the kaytee comfort wheel and run like Forrest gump on that thing. It is a bit loud, I tried the silent spinner but they hate it and refuse to use it so I must endure the noise

I currently use five Niteangel wheels for all my mice. I have three medium Dark Clouds, one medium wooden wheel, and one small wheel. These things are amazing and are well worth the money. I won't buy anything but these. When I bought my first Niteangel wheel, I thought my girls didn't like it and it was a waste of money. However, upon closer inspection, it turned out the my girls were having the time of their lives on it and I just couldn't hear (or see) the wheel when it was spinning. My girls were tearing up the track and it was spinning so fast that it looked like it was standing still. My preference is the wooden wheels because I like natural habitats and they are fully open which allows me a clear view of my mice running. The Dark Cloud series "cloud cover" doesn't allow me the view of my mice that I love, but the colours are beautiful (I have two in the dark green and one in the mint) and my girls' needed more wheels now. This series is just as well made and worth the money. I'm not sure what the holdup in production is of the wooden wheels, but I do plan on eventually replacing the Dark Clouds wheels with the wooden ones only because I find watching the girls run extremely relaxing. In my list of wheels above, I only have one small wheel. This was my first purchase and I thought this would be a good size. Unfortunately, I had two girls that were bigger and I didn't like how their backs bent when they were using the small wheel. I bought the medium size and it turns out that all my girls preferred it over the small and so, I've only purchased medium wheels since. With the medium size, all my girls can "run to the moon and back" on the very bottom of the wheel, never getting anywhere close to having to arch their backs. It's basically a straight run which keeps their spines straight. As for maintaining the "cork runner", I spray three, thin coats of Plasti Dip Clear Aerosol on the runner prior to introducing. Cleanup is then an absolute breeze. I use a 50/50 solution of white vinegar/water to wipe the wheel and runner down and set outside to off-gas any remaining vapors. In my household, Niteangel wheels are both mouse approved (11 girls) and mom approved.

Don’t be embarrassed about the price you paid. It’s worth every penny and I think in the long run it’s going to be cheaper than if you had bought another wheel. If you had decided to buy a cheaper wheel. In the long run you would pay more when you replace that cheaper wheel. I have one and I had it for about 6 months now. I love it and won’t go back to any other. It’s great quality and it even impressed my hubby when he first saw it. A tip from my mechanic husband, “Don’t submerge it in water, water will ruin the bearings.” I just use a baby wipe twice a week to remove pee or you can just put a small amount of water in it and wipe clean careful. That should keep it from rusting. I hope you love it in 6 months as much as I do.

Yeah, I have to say as far as chewing goes, it definitely depends on the mouse. My male mouse, Whisk, only ever did what I call “test bites,” which was just a nibble of two on any piece of wood. He did have lab blocks in his regular diet to balance this behavior out though. :)

Emi, I got two mice a little more than a year ago. As they are quite old and probably only have a couple months left I want to adopt another pair to introduce to my girls, (That are distantly related to mine) so when one of them dies the other one will not be lonely. However, my mum won't let me get another pair because she is worried that Sophie and Olivia (My current mice) aren't going to be happy and will fight. How do I prove to her that this is possible but extremely rare (Especially with family)? I wanted to love the Niteangel wheel so much, but....sigh. My hamster hated it because she kept getting thrown off when it wouldn't stop when she did. After the 4th or 5th time, she just stopped getting on it. Like, it almost runs too well? If that makes sense. I had to go back to her Wodent Wheel (look nearly the same as your Trixie plastic wheel, except it has a nice heavy metal base for added stability). Maybe if I ever get a syrian again, I'll have better luck with it - because I think part of the issue is my dwarf hamster I have currently just isn't heavy enough (and she's a chunky monkey at just over 100g). They're so well constructed, and I love that the height is adjustable, but my girl just couldn't tolerate it.
