Jon these are my favorite videos of yours to watch. I could watch this randomness for 7 hours straight!

Thanks for the shout out and the sandberg die cut, I definitely don't have that one. This is easily the beat value collection you have ever gotten. This will keep me up at night mad I didn't find it

This is crazy.... So I figured I would go through some "junk wax" baseball while watching/listening to this video, and John mentioned the 1991 Topps Mark Whitten Error - and I remember putting away a 700 count box of 91 Topps (partially in numerical order) not too long ago that was part of a recent collection I had purchased. So I grabbed the box, and started pulling/sorting cards and decided to pull-up the error checklist to check for errors and BAM!!!!, I found the Chris Hoiles "white box" error and shortly after I found the Mark Whitten error... And look, as a hockey and vintage baseball dealer/collector - I would have never found it if it wasn't for watching this video, so thanks John!!... That Hoiles sells for like $50 bucks, lol... And honestly, I only vaguely remember either of those errors so they probably would have sat in that box forever.. Good stuff. I also found a bunch of other errors as well. Not too sure how rare or desirable they are, but there are a lot of error collectors out there.. The Hoiles is in EX-MT, it's off-centered and has a "soft" corner - it would probably grade a 7-8 - so I'm unsure if it makes sense to slab but either way I'm pumped and I'm doing a show next week so I'll add it to the display case and price it at $50 and see what happens... I don't mean to be pedantic, but pulling rare junk-wax errors was the LAST thing I thought I'd be doing an hour ago, but hey - thanks for the motivation, lol.

I was in AZ when the DBacks premiered. Attending the inaugural games was all about seeing the stadium with retractable roof and Matt Williams. Good memories for me and my wife, (GF at the time). We often think about those great times over 25years later.

What a find these are cards were! Well done Jon! Two months ago Darin's cards open those odd Fairfield jumbo/fat packs. He didn't hit nothing big, but an awesome lottery ticket. Thanks Jon!

Similar to you Oneal Cruz story...at a Rays game I was seated in row 2 on the 3rd base side and after a foul ball the ball boy came over and tossed it and I reached over the couple in front of me and snagged it with my glove. The guy mouthed "Sure, you keep it" under his breathe.

That 87 Fleer made the buy a home run all by itself.. I'd assume boxes of that go for at least $100.. The last time I broke 80's junk wax I broke 86 Fleer and 86 Leaf and I think I paid around $100 for each box, but it was worth it because I pulled 5 Mickey Hatchers out of the Fleer box so..

A couple of arcade machines I'd have in my collection if I could afford it would be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the arcade game and WWF Royal Rumble arcade game that my local Walmart use to have to the early 90s and that air hockey bowling game that you find in bars in the early 90s. My mom was a bartender so sometimes when I went to her place to spend time with her she have to work and she took me with her to work and I got to play arcade games all day or all night long. The Turtles arcade game was when she use to work at a pizza place slash bar and it definitely took a ton of quarters to beat the the Turtles arcade game. Those where fun days.
@Swoop187OG1877 ай бұрын
WOW, good deal!.... Obviously you're not going to pull anything raw of significant value out of any of it, but for $55 bucks -- take my money, lol... I grew up during the "junk-wax" era as well, so it's always fun having a few beers and breaking this type of stuff, especially for only $55 bucks when there is zero risk... I mean I stay away from wax for the most part, and generally focus on collections - but when I see wax and it's at the right price I'll certainly pick it up...

1991 Fleer has got to be the ugliest cards of all time! Lol. The color scheme is just cringe! I do dig some junk wax tho, like 1990 Topps and 1989 Fleer, which are sort of ugly but still have a certain charm hahaha
