yes it was not natural for Elijah at one point to trust God as he did or had learned, and may we too learn in our daily walk to trust God in such a same manner, even boast in Him as Elijah did, full confidence

I also think this is funny, if I remember right, Elijah is a distant countryman of the later King Saul, and he uses a reference that Saul will be remembered for when he entered the cave seeking David ... saying to the 400 prophets - is your god asleep, maybe we should wake him? Perhaps he is busy and needs to relieve himself. I bet this insult cut them quick to the heart as did cheerleader evil Jezebel.

on paper it was almost laughable - for what one of the 400 false Baal prophets could stop the RAIN even for a day, much less for over 1,000 days! Come on boys, show me what you got, my God is no comparison to your gods.

isn't that amazing, 150 yrs pass, but Elijah doesn't forget the evening sacrifice offered to God, kings did, evil pagans did, most of the Jewish people did, but the "E" man stood before them and said this day, I declare to you who is God, you will see His works for yourself, then choose who you will follow.
