We found a great sale and bought our kids North Face book bags 3 school years ago. I told my kids they have to use them until college at least. 🤣 We also reuse our lunch boxes from year to year. Hope your year is off to a great start and smooth transition.

Hope you feel back to 100% soon. I love Ellie Krieger’s You Have It Made cookbook. She gives instructions for reheating from frozen without defrosting. Thing that went in my freezer used to “die” there because I’d never remember to defrost them. That cookbook was a game changer for me. I don’t have kids and live alone, so instead of reducing the recipes I just cooked the normal size and portioned it out into individual servings for me before freezing.

Remembering how hectic the days were when my kids were in school and my husband and I both worked.... I truly don't know how we were able to get everything done, get the kids everywhere they needed to go, and get ourselves to work every day. In spite of everything, those years were very fun and very happy!! Hope you feel better, and hope you all have a good start to the new school year.

I agree, uniforms are a blessing!!! My husband and I wore uniforms, my children wore uniforms...so much easier. My children are adults now and my daughter is now a teacher where I went to Grammer school....like 100 years ago! We homeschool and started at the beginning of August. The freezer meals definitely help so much! Before school starting I also like to clear out cluttered areas and clean out the car.

Yes! I did the same-- deep cleaned my car, though I didn't get far on the house before I got sick. Daily maintenance is all I managed. But hopefully once I'm well I can bust out cleaning on my days off! 😊

We start our home school year (my youngest two, 9th and 11th grade) on Monday, which is the day my 21 year old son is leaving for USMC boot camp. I did not plan for that, his ship day was changed twice. (My other three adult kids are all keeping me hopping as well with their various goings-on.) And yes, I have a rotten summer cold too! My friend told me yesterday, "Kristyn, you are just OVERWROUGHT!" I think many of us are. My only advice is prioritize the big stuff and let the little stuff wait. (Practically speaking, food prepping ahead of time is always brilliant!) And give yourself all the grace you would give to someone else. Semper Fi is a good motto for us moms too ❣

I found that not all the things on the lists are necessary and you really do not need to purchase. My son has allergies and requires his own tissue and cannot walk up to the teacher's desk every time he needs some. So I purchased hand sanitizer and pocket kleenex only for his use. I also do not buy cleaning supplies for the classroom. Our district provides breakfast and lunch for All students, however my son requires two lunches at mealtime. They allow this without any problem, as the middle and high school students all get 2. Appetites are huge! I hope you are on the mend, it is the bodies way of reminding you to slow down and allow others to do for you.

I like to check with the teacher before sending cleaning supplies. I've found new teachers really need them and returning teachers usually have a good stockpile. 😊
